Great site, bit pricey @ £20pppn but you expect that in this area and this close to the beach.
Friendly reception where you can charge mobiles and freeze icepacks for a donation to charity. Lots of smaller fields interlinked to form the campsite give it a more cosy, private feel. Different fields used for different groups types we were in a couple field next door to the young groups who were noisier than us but not annoyingly so.
Two toilet blocks (only one with showers) I only queued once all week but did avoid the usual busier times. Hot water at all itmes I used any facilities. Good washing up areas. Bins everywhere. No on site shop but <5mins to Ruda holiday park where there is a water park, costcutter mini-market, F&C takeaway and a restaurant.
Brilliant for the beach, less than five minutes walk and less than 10mins into croyd itself where there are three pubs - The Manor is best for food but all three serve food. There is a cafe / restaurant and a bistro, didn't try either but both looked good particularly the bistro, whose menu was mouthwatering but also wallet draining! Two good pasty and ice-cream shops, 2 -3 surf stores and a PO complete sleepy croyd!
Croyd beach itself is fantastic, some rockpools at one end, RNLI lifeguards during day, I'm not a surfer but waves looked more than fun! Loads of sand even when busy, and the sand dunes looked like immense fun for the kids.
Worth a walk around the headlan (baggy point) to putsborough / woolacombe beach (even bigger and better than croyd beach but less features). 10mile round trip if you also walk the length of woolacombe beach but the reward in woolacombe is a great pint of cider in the 'Red Barn' bar-restaurant just off the beach!

My son and I have just spent a fantastic week at Cherry Tree Farm and I just had to write and recommend this great campsite !
It is in an ideal position; away from any noise, only a 5 min walk to the fabulous beach at Croyde and 3 min walk from either a surf shop or the large Ruda holiday park with a supermarket, etc.
The site itself is large ( 6 fields I think) but the owners don't take anywhere near as many tents as they could and therefore everyone can have plenty of space if they want. We were at the top of a small field which some owners would squeeze 30 tents into, and we only had 10 other tents in the field maximum!
The owners were very friendly indeed offering lots of advice and cheer, they even did cheap ice pack hire and phone charging - all monies going to local charities (nice touch).
The fields are all bordered by hedges and trees and we had a great view of the sea and surrounding countryside. By day the skies were full of swallows and the occassional buzzard or sparrowhawk, and at night they were full of bats!
The showers were okay but the washing facilities were a tad basic - simply large sinks with no draining boards. But there were facilities for rinsing your wetsuit.
Overall, a cheap and very cheerful site which we will definitely return to. I would also recommend driving into Braunton for the excellent butcher there - BBQ fodder to die for!

August 2004 I love this site. I have been here three years on the trot with a group of friends for the August Bank Holiday. The showers are basic but you are camping not at the Ritz! You do need to book in advance by writing a letter to the campsite.
It is within walking distance of both the beach and the shops and does not get too over crowded like some of the other sites in Croyde. They also do an icepack exchange at very reasonalble rate - can't quite remember but is a bout 30p each. I am already looking forward to my vist this year!

July 2004 I went to the camp site last year and it was 1 of the best hoildays I've ever been to, the staff are so friendly and the showers are excellent. It is very very close to the sea and I love the freedom 2 put your tent any where and not have a certain place. I am definately going back next year but the only problem is that they don't have any kind of shop, but there's a realy good one next door which is a 3 min walk.

July 2004 Arrived on a Friday afternoon and found all of the staff to be very friendly. The site is made up of fields which are split by large hedges and no designated 'pitches' which we found nice. We opted for the 'young' field as opposed to the 'family' field and were plesantly suprised. As it was our first camping expedition, we were impressed by the cleanliness of the facilities (however found early morning and late afternoon the best times for the cleanest showers!). It was a short walk into the town to the pubs and shops. Can highly recommend the frozen steaks & ribs for the BBQ from the little shop in the village! Also found a great ice cream shop with butterscotch ice cream to die for.

August 2003 I stayed at Cherry Tree Farm for a week in August 2003. The location is great: a few minutes walk to a great surfing beach, and close to the Ruda Holiday Camp Shop.
The campers were a good mixture of families with kids as well and young adults.
The facilities were clean and there was plenty of hot water. I'll go again next year.
