Stayed for 2 nights and had a good time. Right near a very good Owl Sanctuary which had a huge variety of birds of prey. Second day did a nice pub and windmill in Saxtead and then headed to Aldburgh on the coast.
Site was clean and the kids were able to wander about with no dangers.
Recommended for short breaks

We have visited this site on numerous occasions and absolutely love it! The showers and toilets are always immaculately cleaned and you never have to queue for these or the washing up facilities. We have always been made to feel very welcome over the past three years and would recommend this site to anyone. Next to the camp site is a complex with shops, golf, crazy golf, a fishing lake, Redwing Horse Sanctuary & Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - and that's without even getting in your car and going anywhere. This is a fantastic site set in a lovely part of Suffolk. And for around £10 a night for a tent you just can't go wrong.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The field was a bit wet as there had been a lot of rain. We could choose where we wanted to go. There was a small shop at reception, which had milk, and I noticed they sold sweets which my 2 treated themselves to. The man in reception was very friendly and wasn't in a rush to make us pay. There were 3 showers , 4 toilets and 4 basins in the ladies which were of a hight standard of cleanliness. The showers were lovely and free, and the room was kept warm with radiators. There was also a free hairdryer! There were 2 indoor sinks for washing up, with plenty of hot water, and a wahing machine, which I didn't use so don't know how much, and I think a tumble dryer. All kept extremely clean. We stayed on site the first day, and visited the crazy golf, £1.50 per child (and go round more than once) which the children enjoyed. At the site entrance there is a horse sanctuary and an Owl rescue centre. We went into Redwings horse sanctuary, which was free and you can adopt a horse for as little as £8.50 which my son did. We visited the Owl sanctuary, which I think was £5 for adults and £3 for children. There were many different birds and the staff were very informative if asked anything. There are various individual retail outlets called the Barns, which were interesting, and a restaurant/cafe, we didn't try this although my daughter bought a milkshake for £1.10. There are no shops for items such as milk etc within walking distance that we found, and went to the tesco on the A14 towards Bury St Edmunds, about a 10-15mins drive. We went to Needham Market which is a nice small town about 10mins by car. We liked the fact so much was on the doorstep of the site. Unfortunately, there were no cycle paths near by, so could only use our bikes on the site. I didn't like the smell of the skip for all the rubbish, but luckily we camped far away so only incovenienced when depositing our rubbish. I would definitely recommend this site.

August 2005 We visited this site in the August bank holiday. The site is accessed via a conbination of buildings which include a garden nursey, owl sanctuary and nine hole golf course. We found the site to be well kept and clean and tidy, however the skip which, which is situated at the end of the site was very full, smelt and attracted lots of wasps! The showers and toilets were kept very clean and yes there is a bucket and mop for people to use. Only problem with the showers was lack of water pressure, at busy times the water flow was non existant, however the water was always hot. This is a great site to relax and there are things for both children and adults to do without leaving the site (golf for £5 was a bargain!) No shops nearby so stock up well before you arrive.

July 2005 We have just spent a fantasic weekend in our tent at this site. The shower/toilet facilities are spotlessly clean and there is plenty to do on the complex. There is a resuce horse sanctuary, an owl centre, golf and various shops to look around.
The lady who greeted us on our arrival was standing in for the owners and she was really friendly and helpful.
We vistited Stowmarket and Framlingham Castle and had a great time at both locations. I would thoroughly recommend this site for a peaceful and relaxing break but with plenty around to do if you so wish.

May 2004 Visited over May Day Bank Holiday weekend. Found staff very helpful, plenty of room as we were the only tent! Showers, toilets etc very clean, heated and plenty of hot water. Good base for Suffolk coast, Ipswich etc and Stonham Barns complex and Redwings added interest without need to get into car. Only downside was that with all the rain that weekend the site was getting pretty squelshy by the time we had to pack up in the rain on the Mon, hence lots of muddy gear to take home.

April 2004 Booked here from Thursday 8th April to Monday 12th April over the Easter weekend. Arrived and all a bit disorganised, turns out previous owner did a runner with all the paperwork. New owner took over from January but never run a campsite before. The old wardens had stayed on but with no paperwork were in the dark a bit. Pitches were all well organised though and we managed to find a hardstanding one with bark but in retrospect too near the road which was busy. Site had 5 areas in which were divided up by hedges. Central shower room and laundry room. Showers were free, water hot and shower rooms warm and generally clean (there was always a mop and bucket handy so you could clean up anyway). Small site shop selling milk papers and a few tins. Stonham barns complex had plenty to do in the daytime, a restaurant, Redwing horse sanctuary, wild bird sanctuary, 9 hole golf course, mini-golf, lots of craft shops. However it was in the middle of nowhere and nothing to do in the evening (restaurant shut at 5pm). Had to go evverywhere by car, usually for at least 8 miles. There was 1 pub in walking distance, ate there once food was ok but no atmosphere in there at all. Could have done with a playarea/field for the kids or to kick a ball around. Wouldn't go back as it was too isolated for me. Campsite itself had no complaints about.
