Just got home form a fantastic weekend at this lovely site.
In response to a previous review, we managed to get a good picture on TV via caravan aerial and our 02 mobile phones both received a good signal. The only gripe we had, which is really nit picking now was that our electrics repeatedly tripped out for no apparent reason. At the time there was the TV and blown air heating running off the hook up. This was easily remedied by flicking the switch back on again at the hook up point.
The Wardens on site were very helpful, the offered the loan of an OS map and some BBQ lighter fluid when we decided on an impromptu BBQ. Our weather was brilliant which did add to our enjoyment.
The site is just off the A5 and where you turn left off the A5 for this site, there is an organic butcher that sells Bison steak, you can actually see the Bison in the field nearby and they certainly look very happy and cared for.
We took our black lab and although there isn't any fields that don't have animals in, we turned right out of the site, we walked about twenty minutes and then took the first turn on the left, at the end of this track we came to a river which our dog enjoyed.
Really enjoyed it and will return soon

Super little site if you like small, friendly and quiet. The access road is narrow but there are passing places and we didn't meet anything in either direction or any time we went out with just the car. Bit of a hill but certainly not a problem for a 2 litre Signum and an Eriba Triton. Nice play area and spotlessly clean showers/toilets/washing up area/laundry. Also good second hand book 'library' where you can donate to one of several charities. Plenty of water/waste points and bins and seemed very dog friendly although we don't have a dog ourselves. 15-20 mins walk to the local organic farm shop/cafe otherwise you need a car to get to shops. Nice walks from the site if you use an OS map and possible to get down to the River in less than 30 mins for an idyllic walk. Owners extremely helpful and friendly. Will be going back!

This site is located about two miles outside Corwen just off the A5 trunk road and is affiliated to the Caravan Club. It is open March to October to members only.
When we arrived there was a note apologising for the wardens having to go to the dentist and advising us to pitch where we fancied. When we arrived home the wardens had also left a telephone message saying they wouldn’t be there on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble for the wardens and they are the standard of how all wardens should treat their guests. They are also caravanners so I hope they get treated the same on their holidays.
There are 35 touring pitches all on grass which is very well maintained. Pitches are part sloping so you will need levelling blocks. The warden will park your caravan with his mini-tractor if you require.
There is a single heated toilet block with showers and WCs. Also a washing up/vegetable preparation area and laundry facilities. Although the facilities are dated they are kept spotlessly clean.
Service points around the site for water and rubbish disposal. Also chemical disposal facilities. Some recycling facilities.
The children’s play area is enclosed by hedges and includes an old Massey Ferguson tractor, goalposts, climbing frame, basketball and Wendy house. I could have spent hours there but forgot to take the grandchildren.
Dog walking facilities close by.
The wardens run a second-hand book stall for charity and there is a great selection of books plus you choose which charity box you put your donation in.
Close to the site is the Rhug estate with a farm shop selling organic meat, vegetables and a wide range of goods. Also a small café and take-away. Otherwise Corwen has a small selection of shops or Llangollen with a much wider range is about 12 miles away.
We paid £12.30 per night for grass pitch with 10amp electrical hook-up, caravan, awning and two people.
This is beautiful walking country and we visited Lake Vyrnwy which is as picturesque as the Lake District without the crowds. Super visitor centre and RSPB shop and bird hide accessible to disabled people. Lots to see in Llangollen and, if you dare, walk over or take a boat trip over the Pontcysyllte aqueduct. Bala is a pleasant little town with a beautiful lake. You are close enough to visit Snowdonia.
Overall a super little site that you will get a warm welcome and one we shall return to.

We stayed at this Site in May 2009 and love the place. It was our first visit and there is no doubt we will go again, I can’t believe there are not more reviews.
The site is ideally situated for Bala, Snowdonia and North Wales.
I was told by another camper that the approach from the main road has been improved and as such more caravans are visiting. I can say that we had no problems at all so if access was bad it certainly isn’t now, so please if that was putting you off, pack your kit and go!
The site is basic and if you like traditional in its approach to camping, we liked this. Grass pitches which are of a good size, not all are level but the wardens place our van and provide blocks as required so it isn’t a problem at all. Our pitch was level. The toilet blocks are a bit dated but most importantly they are very clean and work fine. We never had to wait.
The play park is good and has football goal, basketball net, climbing frames, play house etc, the kids really enjoyed it and it seemed safe for them. Lots of cycles and scooters which didn’t cause any problem. At dusk we went and sat in the play park to see the bats, they were intriguing and recommended.
I would recommend taking a OS map to get the most from the area, we took dogs and on the OS map you can pickup a footpath and do some nice circular walks.
This is a dog friendly site and there were a lot of well behaved dogs with responsible owners, we did not see any dog mess. There are cattle in the adjoining field which is one to be aware of.
Mobile phone reception on O2 was excellent, TV reception was none existent with a caravan aerial, and others had proper aerials which seemed to be the way ahead.
I must say that the wardens at this place exemplify what the caravan club is about. They couldn’t do enough for you. Can’t recommend this site enough, I will certainly go again. If this was your best kept secret, sorry!

I cant believe that this site has only one review, I have just spent a lovely 8 day break there. The facilities were spotlessly clean, the wardens were helpful and friendly. There was a lovely play area for the kids. The surrounding area was just beautiful, all in all I couldn't find fault at all, a site I will definitely return to.

March 2005 We have just got back from a 2 night stay here, this is a lovely quiet site, the wardens were fantastic, very helpful. This site is about 2 miles from Corwen where you can get your essentials etc, so if you are looking for a peaceful break this is the place to go.
The site has good clean showers, all the standards you expect from caravan club sites. There is a small play area for the kids with a footie net and playhouse etc.
The good thing for us was that the wardens are very dog friendly, they pitched us next to the gate to a field that we could let our dog run off the lead. The was sheep and Lambs in the other fields so you just have to keep an eye out.
We visited a sheep dog centre called ewephoria whilst we were there, well worth a visit, the kids will love to see all the sheep and extra bonus it was lambing time so got to see the lambs being fed.
The site is good because you have access to many different areas, we went to Betsy Coed (sorry about the spelling!), Llangollen and Chirk.
The site is a really nice, clean and peacful place to stay.
