This is a pleasant well drained level site with well spaced grass pitches. Toilet block is clean but could maybe do with up dating a little. However it is still acceptable. The park is well laid out and the position is such that it is within the village of Folkingham and shops and pub are all within easy walking distance Pitches are grass it is well cared for and there are some nice walks from the site. There isnt a playground for children but plenty of grass and open space There is a separate field for tents The owners are friendly and you leave with the feeling of wanting to come back again

Arrived on a very windy day and found there is a huge Leylandii hedge which really helped to shelter our not very aerodynamic tent. Extra guylines fitted, it didn't look as if it was going to blow away! And it didn't.

The site was very quiet in both senses of the word, apart from the wind and the cooing of pigeons in the hedge, there was little other noise. The field was fairly full of caravans but only a few seemed to have people in. It is very rural, with fields of spotted sheep all around.

The field is very well maintained and the facilities are excellent, huge shower cubicles, lots of hot water. Plenty of washing-up space, one indoors.

The owners were friendly and helpful, and there's an information room and toilets near the house as well as info in the washrooms.

The village is very historic, look out for the houses with moustaches, the workhouse and the house of correction! The church has some great gargoyles. There is a shop in the village which is useful but expensive.

Belton House and Woolsthorpe Manor are not far away and well worth a visit, as is Stamford. The Art Centre is recommended for coffee or lunch.

We're planning to come back with our bicycles, it looks like super cycling country round here.

On arrival at the site, we were greeted warmly and told to select a pitch which suited us. We chose to pitch on the front field which is a little farther from the toilets but we had lots of room for our four year old to run around and was very peaceful late on in the evening when she was asleep.

The site is lovely. The facilities are spotlessly clean and never had to wait for the showers or toilets.

The village is only a couple of minutes walk and has a pub with a beer garden which was lovely as when we were there the weather was very hot!

We visited Stamford and Rutland water and had a lovely time.

We did try the fish and chip shop which had leaflets up in the information center on site I would not recommend! The food was awful.

We will definitely visit this site again!

Grabbed just a night away here this weekend. Quiet and peaceful site - yes, apart from the pigeons! But that wasn't a problem. Easy walking distance into the village, where we used the shop / deli for breakfast provisions (there's also a small farm shop on West Road, about half a mile or so out of Folkingham).

Had hoped to eat in the pub, but weren't impressed with the rather limited menu choice or the welcome, so drove instead - at the site owner's recommendation - to the Fortescue Arms in Billingsborough, 10 minutes away. Good meal here and well kept ales. If the Folkingham pub was of this quality, we'd be back there like a shot!

Facilities at the site a bit dated, but adequate and the showers were hot and powerful. No shop (I suppose because they are so close to the village). And no freezer facilities, which was a bit of a nuisance for us. All in all though, a good, clean, quiet site. We'd visit again as a stopover rather than a destination.

Had a very nice 4 night stay here. Showers and toilets were clean but only 2 of each.

Short walk to the village shop which was well stocked. The chocolate shop is well worth a visit.

Only problem we had was being woken up at 4am every day with the racket from the pigeons nesting in the conifer trees where we were pitched. Possibly reducing the height of these trees would deter so many pigeons using them. Sleep after 4am is impossible if you are using a tent.

This is a good site to use as a base to visit the surrounding area. Plenty of leaflets available on site.

Beautiful setting, both the site itself and the nearby village. Owners friendly, showers and toilets spotless but only 2 showers each for gents and ladies, though this was never a problem for us. Also 2 sinks for washing up.

Village shop very good for basics you've forgotten (we got porridge, bread and golden syrup!) plus a nice selection of local cheeses and some other delicatessen type stuff.

We took 3 children aged between 3 and 9 and were largely happy to let them run around unsupervised as there was little traffic through the site and no obvious hazards. We also found the little pagoda/bandstand in the orchard an ideal place for camping stoves and disposable BBQs. Note that cash is needed for payment.

Very much enjoyed our visit.

The site was easy to find with good access, and only just off the major roads. Very clean well kept, not very big and with next to no privacy.

Tents are on on the left as you enter and caravans/motorhomes were further down. Didn't use the only shower block but it looked very clean from the outside.

Reception was friendly and @ 16.50 p/night for 2 adults with elec over a bank holiday I felt was very good value. We had a pitch reserved for us, which I did not think was ideal for us having 2 dogs and I think we should have been able to view the available pitches and select one for ourselves.

It is a very peaceful site with no designated play area for the kids but it wasn't a big enough site for that.

The village of Folkingham is a very short walk but apart from the chocolate shop, a well-stocked village stores and the New Inn pub that's about it.

Not sure where the dog walks were that have been mentioned in other reviews and when I asked the lady on reception about suitable dog walks she was not very helpful either.

I made use of 'The Orchard', which was just down the road and was a completely fenced in park to exercise my dogs off lead as there were no signs to say I could not.

There is a brook running along the bottom though and probably best avoided unless you want a smelly dog! There wasn't much to do nearby so a good site for a relaxing weekend stay.

We stayed on this site as part of an organised group camp. We were on the rally field as you enter the site. The marked out elec pitches are further into the site. The field we were on was well maintained, with a small orchard at the end.

We found the site to be very well maintained, toilets and showers were always very clean, as were the washing up facilities. There is a laundry room with washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities.

The site is located in a lovely village, with pub, tea shop and chocolate shop amongst others.

We will definitely return.

 What a great site.

We camped here as a group of 3 families travelling from across the UK each with a large tent. The owners were great taking the booking and refusing a deposit offer. The village is 20 minutes from the A1 making access great. When we arrived at the site we were directed to the pitches that had been reserved for us all together. Charges for tent with EHU and 2 adults and 2 children was £36 for 2 night.

The grounds of the site are in great condition and very attractive. Toilets are clean with hot showers and a sink for washing up. The numbers are low but the site is small so this is not a problem.

The field for non-electric tents looked a little undulating so finding a level pitch may be a problem if the site is really busy.

The village is lovely with a shop and pub within 10 minutes walk. The pub was great and had a beer festival event on whilst we were there making for some very happy campers.

The surrounding area has lost to see and do for a variety of taste. We found a lovely bar/restaurant on the A15 at Osbourneby that did a carvery on the Sunday for £6.50 (£3.50 for u10's).

We intend to make this an annual trip to the site we enjoyed our stay so much.

Have just got back from a wonderful weekend at this site with a group of friends, although we booked separately we were pitched together. The owner and his wife were very friendly.

Although the site appeared fully booked there were no long queues for showers, the water in same was hot and an air of peacefulness seemed to cover the area.

The children that were there were all under control but still allowed to be children. There are some great shops in the village and the local pub does a steak night on Wednesdays and fish and chips or curry on Fridays (Take away phone orders).

To top it all off the site was kept clean and tidy and we will definitely be returning in the near future.

Oops nearly forgot very dog friendly with some great exercise walks off site but near by
