On arriving, the view of the bay of fleet as you travel down the farm lane is stunning. The site is quiet and situated a short drive from pretty villages and woodland/coastal walks.
The site is of decent size and the pitches spaced out. There is a good number of electrical points and the hosts are very friendly and helpful.
The site is impeccably clean and has a good range of facilities, including a washing machine and tumble dryer. The shower block is cleaned on a very regular basis and the showers are powerful.
I would definitely recommend and intend to visit again.

Lovely site beautiful location. Site owner very helpful facilities spotlessly clean. Separate room for washing dishes. Washing machine and tumble dryer there to use for small charge. Washing line available to use if needed.
Small play park our granddaughter loved it.
Social distancing rules apply but felt really safe.
Thank you for wonderful stay will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended.

First of all thank you to the site owners for both opening their site and allowing tents to stay.
The site was easy to find, well signposted from the road. A lovely welcome on arrival, including being shown the facilities.
The pitches are spacious, even more so due to numbers currently being restricted by the owners to avoid queues for facilities.
The site looks immaculate, grass cut, facilities very clean, bins emptied each day. It's located at the end of a gravel track well away from the main road so there's no road noise. There's minimal light pollution so it's a good location for stargazing.
When I visited it was very hot so the free freezer for ice packs was much appreciated.
There are plenty of places to visit within an hour's drive - Clatteringshaws Loch, Glen Trool, Portpatrick, Mull of Galloway, Garlieston etc. For food shopping there's a Coop in Wigtown (and nice pies at the butchers). There's a bigger choice of supermarkets in Newton Stewart.
All in all Drumroamin is an ideal place to escape from reality for a while and it's easy to see why it has won awards and gets an average of 10/10 on UK Campsite. I shall return!

Another relaxing stay at the superb site which has spoiled us for camping anywhere else.
So glad to be back here now that travel restrictions are lifted a bit and Lesley and Ralph have made adjustments to keep everyone feeling safe and confident.
Extra spacing on site, notices about distancing, provisions of hand sanitisers and closure of the games lounge are the adjustments made this season and everything is running smoothly.
Thank you again!

We are happy to return to this site again and again!
A lovely, level site with generous pitches, great views, wonderful hosts, a wide range of facilities in a fantastic location and at really reasonable rates.
Even when the site is fully booked it never feels crowded and it's always spotless thanks to Lesley and Ralph's attentiveness to their visitors.
We've stayed four times this year and we keep finding new places to walk, ride and visit in this beautiful part of Scotland.
We would recommend this site for families and couples, backpackers, vanners, cyclists and anyone who appreciates the time and care that is put into managing Drumroamin.
Lots of beaches, forest walking and cycling in all directions. Supermarkets nearby in Newton Stewart. Good pub food at Garlieston.
Ideal base for mtb at Kirroughtree and Glentrool. (7 stanes)

Would agree totally with the previous reviews, this site is as near to perfect as we have found.
We arrived to a super friendly welcome from the owner, were offered our choice of available pitches and shown around the facilities.
All the pitches on grass, but its very firm and well cut with no clippings left. Good large pitch with electric and super views down towards the bay.
The loos and showers were immaculate, enormous shower cubicles with more hooks for hanging things than we have ever seen - brilliant.
Being a couple of miles down a lane its so peaceful, no traffic noise at all. Some lovely walks including a marked footpath over the fields.
There is plenty to see and do in the area, Wigtown is a must for book lovers, the small harbour there has a great walk along side the estuary.
One of our favourite sites and we will be coming back for a longer stay to explore the area more fully. And at £20 per night with electric and showers it is an absolute bargain.

We have just spent a great week at Drumroamin camping with our 3 dogs. The site is extremely well kept with all of the facilities being meticulously clean. Everyone was very friendly and helpful with recommendations for walks for the dogs and dog friendly local pubs, all. Of which we tested.
The location was beautiful with views across Wigtown Bay and the site was very quiet and peaceful.
In our opinion if Carlsberg did campsites.....
