Great location but someone moaned about our tents being where they weren't allowed the previous year so we were told to move. Shame they waited until we finished pitching before complaining!
The park is fantastic although it attracts loads of wasps. Bring your bikes for the trails (walkable too)!
Don't know about updated showers, looked the same as 3 years ago but the facilities, while tatty, are regularly cleaned!
Supplies can be had a 15min walk away in Markethill.
The skip bins are changed regularly and the whole place is well patrolled.
For a mere £15. 50 a night it would be rude not to give it a go!

An excellent site on a fantastic location. 5 minutes walk from Markethill town which has a great range of shops and cafes.
Also a short drive from Armagh which is another great city with lots to see and do. The forest itself is beautiful and a great location for any animal and nature lovers.
Kids love it because of the fabulous walks through the woods. Kids would benefit from a play park of some description. Coffee shop open during summer is lovely.
Facilities have been recently, minor update including new showers which are great.
Forest rangers are extremely vigilant and are constantly monitoring the facilities and site users. Fantastic site our favourite.

Spent a very enjoyable weekend here. The pitches are large and flat and drainage is very good.
The location is spectacular and provides a good base to explore the surrounding area. Armagh is a beautiful city with so many things to see and do.
The facilities are basic as commented on in other reviews but we found them clean and there was always plenty of hot water.
Gosford is like all of the Forestry owned sites in that its full potential has not been realised. With some investment in updating the toilet and shower block and better control over access and security this site could be one of the best in the country.
Overall this site is worth a visit and we will certainly be returning.

We arrived at this site late on a Friday night, so it was pitch black. The park gates close at seven, but a very helpful warden stayed later to open the gates for us when we arrived. But boy did we have a pleasant surprise in the morning!
Gosford Forest Park is beautiful, tranquil place with attractive pitches among the trees with electric hook-ups. Rubbish bins, fresh water hoses and grey and black waste disposal points were within easy walking distance.
The toilet block was a bit old, pretty average, but useable. The park itself is fantastic for walking and cycling. The green cycling trail is highly recommended, and the blue one (with shows you the castle) is good too.
The red trail is better for walkers or expert cyclists. The Heritage Poultry Collection and Deer Park are worth a visit. The Tea House and 'The River' restaurant are shut down. Gosford is a really great place, and we'll be back.

Have just been for a two day stay at Gosford Forest park with our two grandchildren. We had a wonderful time, the park is a great place to stay with bike riding, walking and lots of outdoor things to do, the kids loved it. It is a safe place to stay. We were able to cycle to Markethill pick up a few groceries.
I have to make a comment regarding the facilities, which were a bit on the tired side, the toilet facilities and showers need updating, but on a positive note were all clean and usable.
Suggestion - £15.75 per night is exceptionally good, an increase of a couple of pounds per pitch would possibly update the units, also the leaflet which shows a tea house/cafe, needs to be reviewed as these are no longer there.
We will return.

Gosford Forest is a lovely location, the trails are superb - excellent for children and cycling generally.
The staff are great and the overall atmosphere in the park was good. We arrived just after lunch on the Friday and being nice weather found the park was already well filled. Seemed to be popular with visitors from the the Republic of Ireland. Those campers arriving at tea time had the choice of only a handful of (less appealing) pitches.
As previously mentioned in the reviews, the toilet facilities are the main let down of this site and really need to be upgraded asap. Talking to others in the site it seems that many are now opting to using their own caravan showers/toilets.

I thought this was a really good site and in spite of previous criticism of the washing facilities found them excellent and kept cleaner than most. The staff also helped us when our car broke down.
A large site with a choice of pitches. Some people use the field, others pitch among the touring caravans. There are lovely walks on the site with an arboretum, woods, river and mill ponds as well as deer and small fowl. The little town of Markethill with shops and bars, chippy and Chinese takeaway, is within walking distance. Further afield there are several National Trust properties -Ardress and the Argory as well as Derrymore house. There are also the historic towns of Armagh and Enniskillen which have much to offer tourists.

Just home after spending 3 nights at Gosford Forest Park.
Pitches are well spread out and come in various sizes. Some are bigger than others, most are hardstanding but with some grass pitches too. Pitches aren't numbered, it's just a case of picking the best one when you arrive.
Being situated within a forest park, there are two walks well signposted within the forest. The shortest walk is about 1.5miles long which takes you through beautiful gardens and past Gosford Castle (not open to the public/currently being renovated). The longest walk is almost 4 miles.
The toilet blocks are a bit run down but clean. They could do with a lick of paint.
The gates to the forest park are locked at 10pm and open again around 8.30am. You can get a key from the ranger when booking in for a deposit of £5 so you can come and go when you please.
At £13.50 per night peak season we felt it represented great value for money.
Plenty to do nearby, Tayto Castle in Tandragee, Derrymore House in Bessbrook, Slieve Gullion Forest Park in Newry to name but a few.
All in all, a great site, just a shame the toilet blocks weren't in better shape. Don't let this put you off though. Enjoy.

We stayed for 5 nights in Gosford Forest Park which was used for the Caravan Club, Ulster Centre New Year Rally. As others have said the pitches are good (but not all are equal as some have room for car and Caravan on the pitch, others just for the caravan). Each pitch has a 16A electric hook up. There are a few water taps scattered around the site, some of which have annoying push down taps (not great for filling a 50L waterhog).
There is ample pathways in the forest for walks, but be aware that unlike Tollymore Forest Park these paths are not sign posted. My wife and I got lost! There is a variety of chickens, some sheep and red deer on the park which are amusing for children, but are (the chickens) rather noisy.
I am very glad that my caravan has a full sized shower, because I wouldn't use the sites facilities which are dirty, old and completely unheated. As a man I was able to use the toilets to urinate, but there is no way I would come into physical contact with them for the other function.
All in all a nice site if you have good on board wash/toilet facilities in your caravan, but one to be avoided if you rely on site facilities.

Stayed at Gosford on a Saturday night/Sunday, very impressed, pitched tent besides caravans just beside facilities, which I was impressed by no charge and no queues. No noise, very family orientated which I enjoyed as we had our 9year old son with us.
We did a short walk through the aboretum and past the castle which were better than expected. Had the great bonus of picking raspberries as we walked.
Tried to book for the next weekend, but unfortunately it was fully booked.
