We visited the site for the 3rd time at the end of the Easter Holidays, the owners have obviously been really busy as the older facilities building has been total transformed - it has had a new roof and now looks inside more like the newer block it has loads of natural and electric lighting.
It now has 2 brand new dishwashing sinks what I really like is the water is hot (and free). Noticed another thing our little one is now 4 so no use to us but they have provided a baby bath not seen this before. There is also a coin operated socket which again we had electric in the camper but if you want to camp and still take a hairdryer it would be perfect as has a mirror right by it.
Would really recommend this site whilst the prices have gone up this year it was still really good value for money and we still only paid £14.50 for all of us with hook up.

Stayed a week in August 2009. There are 30 permanent pitches and only one washing-up sink. A toilet seat remained broken from its fixing for the duration of our stay.
Never the less we were welcomed warmly, the pitches are of a good size, the chlildrens' play area is reasonable so to is the site location.
A nice small site that could be greatly improved with the addition of a couple of washing-up sinks and more diligent housekeeping.

We have just come back from a week on this campsite. We chose it because of its location and because it was a small campsite.
The site was well laid out and our pitch was large as described. We wanted hard standing and the area was big enough to put the camper and awning. The owners were friendly and as soon as we arrived we were greeted and shown our pitch. The new toilet and shower block is nice and was kept clean throughout our very wet week. I am glad they built a new one as the old one really needed replacing. The old one is still used as extra toilets. We didn't use the washing up area as there was only one sink and we had hot water in our camper.
There was a small play area that would have been good if the weather had been better. It was nice play equipment and would have kept my 8 year old happy.
The views were great, on a nice day, looking over the sea.
We had the worst weather last week, but the site stayed very well drained. Within an hour of the rain stopping the ground was nearly dry. With the amount of water that poured down last week I would have expected a mud bath. But it was some of the best drained soil.
Now I have to mention the only problem I had was the road noise. We were right next to a B road. Now this didn't seem to bother other people, but since we live in a quiet village it was a bit of a shock. However the plus side it the easy access and the fact that you are 5 mins form Woolacombe and Ilfracombe.
Apart from the weather I really enjoyed our stay.

We (as in me, my husband and our 3yr old) stayed at Sunnymead for the first time this June. We caught the end of Whitsun week when the site was busy and we then had a couple of days after when most others had gone home.
The site is level the grass seems to be kept short and the pitches have fantastic views over the fields, we could see the sea from our pitch and we watched a large boat one evening travelling up the Bristol Channel.
Our 3 year old loved it as there's a great little play area in the corner of the field and played 3yr olds football right outside our pitch one evening and had our neighbours and the site owners little boy joining in which was great.
Location wise the site is only about 10 minutes drive to the beach and shops, but is away from all the crowds and you really feel in the countryside. Several good pubs around all child friendly and most with some type of play area. You will need to drive to most places as there are no footpaths but this seems to be the same all around the area. We had our camper but others did seem to catch the bus right outside the entrance.
We booked a few weeks ahead and the owners actually told us our pitch number which was great as we could look it up on their website.
Facilities - there is a fabulous new building not sure when it opened with mens and womens toilets and showers, really clean and the owners seem to be out cleaning them regularly. There is an older building which is querky it has beams etc and is home to a family shower room which whilst older we found a godsend as we could all pile in together.
Overall generally in life you get what you pay for but we think Sunnymead is an exception its fantastic value for money we paid £15 a night for all of us and a hook up this was for our first 2 nights (because of school holiday rates) they then reduced the price on 1st June to £13, we couldn't find anywhere around Woolacombe as cheap as this and plan to go back later in the year.

Just got back from a 3 night stay here. The site is spacious, tidy and in a great location for travelling to the great beach at Woolacombe, and also for Ilfracombe and Barnstaple.
There is a good play area at one end of the campsite, with swings, monkey bars and a slide. My eldest children (6 and 3) loved it.
The new toilet/shower block is now in place and we used this and the old one (the shower room in the old one is bigger and was good for showering three kids). The water does lack power in the old block, but the new block is excellent with much better shower units.
The pitches are large and well set out, with plenty of space left on the field for the kids to run around. There is a small dog walking area set aside in the campsite (next to the recycling area), but a well kept bridleway currently accessed through the vet hospital next door. The owners did say they were hoping to cut through to this from the campsite at some point.
The owners were very friendly and helpful, but I did notice they were out most of the time we stayed there - although not an issue for us, it might be an issue for others.
Overall, this campsite is a great place to stay, the prices being much cheaper than the nearby main resorts (Woolacombe Bay and John Fowler resorts). I would return here again without question.

My partner and I stayed at Sunnymead Farm for 4 nights over the Easter bank holiday weekend 2009 .
The site is fairly level but with a slight incline which should be good to prevent any sort of localised flooding. We were fortunate with the weather so this was of no concern during our stay anyway.
The current washing facilities are very basic, have had a good use and are in quite a tired state. The owners obviously appreciate this as they are around 1/2 way through building the new facilities. The current facilities are also really dark, there is little natural light and energy saving bulbs are being used (I guess) which take a while to brighten up. The showers are electrically heated and the water just trickles out.
Price wise the site is cheap. It cost my partner and I £8 per night for a (non serviced) pitch. A pitch is classed as a physical pitch, a car and 2 adults. The charges then go a bit crazy. Two of our friends also stayed with us for the weekend. The cost of our friends was £4 each and £2 for their car. An additional total of £10. So, an entire pitch including 2 adults and car is £8. Or 4 adults and two cars is £18, over double the price of two individual pitches. The prices increase all-round for the summer and this price mix-match doesn't occur but it still doesn't work out cheaper than a separate pitch.
Location wise the site is excellent and just off of a main road so should be easily accessible by caravans.
It's pretty much equi-distant to Ilfracombe and Woolacombe, both a short car journey away.
We also stumbled upon a local farm called Indicknowle Farm. They make excellent cider for only £1.50 a pint! They use age old methods / tools and do not add any sugar.
There is a pub around 1-2mins drive away and the carvery there was fairly good at just under £9.
We also sampled the all-you-can-eat breakfast which is just under £5. This doesn't include any drinks though.
Although the pub is easily within walking distance the road is a little too dangerous to be walking along at night so we decided to drive.
This site is recommended if you really don't care about facilities too much. It's cheap and cheerful.
It looks as if lots of improvements are planned so it would be interesting to read further reviews as the summer progresses.
I should add that the site benefits from stunning views over Lee bay and watching the sun set on the sea on a crisp clear evening was really quite stunning.
