This is the official account for this Campsite.

We read every review and work hard to address any issues raised, to further improve our site for our customers.

We're leaving this review to thank you all for your continued support and the feedback you're giving us and to update you on our progress.

All plots are now clearly numbered. We are also now informing people of their plot numbers when they book and are placing reserved signs, with their names on, on the plots. We apologise for any confusion and annoyance we caused by not having this system in place earlier.

We will shortly be fitting a new laminate top to the sink area in the Gent WC.

We have scheduled major work to be done on the electrical system over the closed season. This will include up-rating the circuit, adding many more hook-up points on the tent field and adding lighting across the whole park.

We have started cleaning the facilities twice a day during the busy periods. Once early in the morning and once in the early afternoon, after everyone has had their morning showers. We fully understand the need for clean facilities and we are working hard to keep our standards high.

We currently have three pitches that slope to one side. We have scheduled work for these plots to be levelled and, in the meantime, we are telling people at the point of booking that those particular plots are not level and may cause them problems if they have an awning.

We are working hard to make our site more accessible for our disabled guests but it's true that currently access is a real issue. We are currently costing several improvements in this area, including alterations to the front of the Country Club, to allow access to our facilities. We hope to bring your more news soon.

Once again, thank you for all your feedback; we appreciate the positive comments and are very grateful for the negative ones - it's the best way to improve!

Hope to see you all again soon,

Pendyffryn Hall Staff

 Back again this year.

The site owners appear to have invested considerable money on providing an excellent adventure play area suitable for kids from toddler age up to teenagers (see the photo's on this site)

The woodland areas have been tidied up and my Son spent many hours in the wooded areas exploring and this time he was still in view as it has been openened up.

The toilets are the same as last year - tidy for a few hours then neglected until the next day.

Arrival on site was arranged for 6:30 in the evening. This was a chaotic arrival with other tourers battling for a pitch. The site security guy was hopeless at trying to resolve this quickly, despite having a plan of allocated pitches. Unfortunately some of hte allocated pitches weren't suitable for the size of outfits arriving. After approx 45 minutes waiting to sort it we gave up and took a vacant pitch.

Despite the frustrations of our arrival we were pleased with the site which has certainly improved for the children. We have already booked to come back on 2 more occasions this summer.

We had a lovely cycle from Penmanmawer (however it's spelt!) into Conwy along the Marina and Estuary, beautiful cycle and not too strenous. Be careful, do not attempt to cross the A55 like we did with bikes, it was far too dangerous.

TIP: Bring your torch, because you will need it to find were to switch the electric back on when the whole electric for the touring pitches goes down because they have been over loaded! Which unfortunately happened on average 2-3 times each day during times of heavy electric use on the tourer pitches.

First reviewed this site in 2010 and been back four times since, however this visit was the most disappointing in my opinion.

When we visited, The entrance by the hall has been crowded even further with static vans for sale, meaning difficult and tight manoeuvring getting a large touring caravan round to the touring field.

A large portion of the touring caravan field is now occupied by seasonal vans, so space has become very limited with only the poorer pitches now available.

Pitch numbers were not given in advance of arrival, so with reception closing at 5pm I was left with no option but to pitch and sort the matter out the next day, as we arrived at 6. 30 in the evening

The pitches at the start of the site on the left are both small and slopey, making pitching difficult and putting an awning up virtually impossible without being situated on quiet a slope.

The site electric kept tripping and several caravanners had to take turns entering a small service passage behind the toilets to reset the main board. We went out on our first day and set the slow cooker to come back to a cold meal and defrosted freezer, this is not good enough.

A member of the family is disabled, there are no disabled facilities on the touring field.

The gents toilet has one step, the ladies has four steep uneven steps with no hand rails to assist. No signage gives any indication of an alternative.

Again the gents toilet is looking very tired, the laminate top holding the sinks has been split and peeling since my first visit in 2010.

Once you drive past the hall and head down to the touring field you really get the feeling we are the poor relations. The site is scruffy with litter rubbish and cans littering the overgrown banks and ditches bordering both the caravan and tent fields, and this is not new litter, you can tell by the stage of rot.

The only good point is the addition of a new children's play area on the tent field.

The owners now need to concentrate bringing all other facilities both up to date, modernised and at least fit to meet the current disability right to access requirements.

Overall this is a cheap site but that is no excuse not to reinvest to bring the facilities into a fit state.

This could again be a good site it has a good location and veiws but is seriously lacking in its facilities and maintenance.

First time camping on Pendiffryn Hall camp site always use to use Pendiffryn Farm site next door but because there camp site was closed chose Pendiffryn Hall for a change.

The site is mostly for static caravans but at the rear and quite secluded part of the grounds is the caravan and tents section which is ideal if your a family as the kids can run free without risk of vehicles passing through.

Limited hook up for caravans as there are a few vans parked up for the season plenty of other space if you don't require hook up the toilets are cleaned in a morning and there's plenty of hot water for a wash or shower but the showers are limited to 10 minutes.

Outside washing facilities for dishes also hot water on demand we used these a lot but are covered in the event it's raining.

The site is situated below a mountain so expect midges as it get dark or if it rains so take repellent we will next time.

Pendiffryn Hall has it's own club for anyone who is camping on site only with entertainment most nights and a family room so the kids don't loose out.

Your about 15 minutes walk from the beach but beware you have to cross the busy A44 or you can go the distant up the road and cross the A55 via a walkway.

Will be going again hopefully this year with tent again as the site fees seen to be the same all year round.

Stayed here for the beginning weekend of the Whit Bank Holiday.

By the end of the weekend the site was full for tourer vans and I believe about half full for tents .

I am glad we pre-booked as there are a limited number of electric hook-ups for the tourers.

Siting the van on the pitch was a bit stressful as you have the option to either be under the trees or in the open space with the limited number of electric hooks ups - the close proximity of the trees made reversing the van a time consuming task! Once Sited it was a great pitch.

TIP: As this area once sited Static Vans, many of the original drain are still functional, if you are planning to stay here, bring an extra long drain hose and you might be able to avoid lugging the waste waster each day.

The location is lovely, very peaceful with mountainside views and looking over the sea.

There is some background road noise from the A55 but not enough to disturb your peace. If anything, it's really handy being close to the A55 as the A55 links you to so many areas within easy reach.

There are plenty of trees and bushes and hillside for the kids to explore and set up makeshift camps in the trees, there are a few rope swings as well. This is a great site for children to ride their bikes, safe and quiet and most people respect the 10mph speed limit on site. The Ice Cream van visits each day around 5:30/6pm.

If you need a drink, the on site bar is good. Local shops nearby for essentials.

(As you book in, you are provided with a very detailed list of available services - caravan repairs, gas etc.)

Beaches - plenty to choose from. We went to Conwy Morfa beach - only 2 milers away, take J17 of the A55 and turn left, lovely big beach with free car park and public toilets.

On the negative side:

The tourer/tenting site is very much second place to the Static caravans on site. So the tourers and tenters are left to get on with it once the site office is closed at 5pm, Which shows on a busy weekend. The security do patrol throughout the day and early evening. Contact numbers are provided in the event of any problems on-site.

I noted the toilet blocks only get attended to once a day, usually around 11am. With a full site, by 7pm the toilets and showers needed a mop and a quick clean around and re-filling of toilet rolls and paper towels.

Showers - free which is a bonus. Spacious, great for families wanting to shower 2 or 3 kids at once. Unfortunately the showers aren't very hot. A mop and bucket would be a welcome addition for people to mop up after they are finished ready for the next person.

All in all, a successful find, good value at £18 for caravan and motorhome with electric hook-up.

Will I go back again, probably, but the toilets need more attention throughout the day to win my Wife's approval!

This is a good basic site.

Its mainly designed for static vans but if you enter the site and follow the road up the hill around the hall and down the track it leads you to the touring field and beyond the tent field.

Very basic sloping field with pitches identified by slate chipping beds which you park on.

Toilets are clean and showers operate by a button outside the cubicle and give ten mins of hot water, only problem being if you run out in this time you then have to go outside to start again.

We went on bank holiday and they still had spaces.

There is a bar on site in the hall as well as basic games room usual fruit machines and a pool table.

No kids play area however daughter found a rope swing from a tree which she loved.

Great for visiting llandudno 8 miles or conwy and the castle 3 miles.

On a negative side. For a large unit which we have it is very tight cornering around the hall with static vans for sale blocking the swing space plus the road to the field is more of a steep rough track however it is reflected in the basic price you pay.
