We have just spent a week at new farm and found the owners very friendly and helpful with nothing to much trouble,
The site is large and spacious with great views of the area, with a new toilet block and soon to be finished shower block this will be a real plus.
The site is situated halfway between Chester and Wrexham with 4 local pubs within 1 mile, we had a nice meal at the Hollie bush about 3/4mile walk, The Bridge pub at the bottom of the hill has changed to a chinese.
There are many places to visit in the area with Bala lake, llangollen, Pontcysyllte Viaduct(a must see), Chirk Castle, and the welsh mountains all within easy reach. On a poor day the Wrexham waterworld is great for a swim with slides. Ect.
There was a water tap at each point if I had a longer pipe I would have been able to fill the barrel straight from the tap, We will do when we return

Stayed here for 2 nights with a caravan. This is a very nice site with lovely views over the hills. The site is a nice sized field with well kept grass and very dry during our stay. At the moment it is a CL with just basic provisions such as electricity (need a long cable), water and waste point, but they have recently had permission to expand with more pitches and a toilet/shower block. The owner indicated he'd only go up to 8 or 9 pitches, which would still give everyone plenty of space.
In it's current format the site is ideal if you have toilet and shower facilities in your caravan. The owners are friendly and welcoming, they even moved the children's slide and seesaw nearer to our caravan so we could watch the kids! The view over the welsh hills is very special.

This is a pleasant albeit basic CL with very friendly owners. This is not a working farm- more of a large house and garden- with a grassed area for dryer months and a hardstanding that we used due to the ground being very wet and there being no other units there at the time. The owners have ambitions to expand this site as they have already built a holiday bungalow in the grounds that can be seen on their website. Check out your final route to the site in advance, the approach road from one direction (when CL is on the right) is very steep and you may have difficulty starting off again should you need to stop as we did to check which way to go when we got to a fork in the road. There doesn't appear to be much to do in the immediate vicinity but is a good base from which to explore Chester, Wrexham and North Wales.
