First saw this site advertised in the latest edition of the caravan & camping magazine which we received last week and decided to check it out and managed to find it on here and read the reviews and decided to have a ride down to have a look.
On our visit we did miss the sign and had to reverse up and managed to have a look at the site.
We booked straight away.
Arrived at the site and were surprised to see pitches with our names on which is a good idea and these were attached to the fence.
Must say that the ground is very uneven and very cracked and appeared to be a previously ploughed field so I'd recommend that you have to be careful so that you don't twist your ankle and fall.
There were 8 EHU's but must say that really there should be more space between each EHU.
The field was very spacious and plenty of room for children or dogs to play on.
The site is lovely and secluded and I can imagine as word spreads that it will become very popular and hard to get get a space on during the summer months.
There was one toilet and separate shower for use but the shower wasn't working but this wasn't a problem for us as we had our own which we used.
The only downside with the toilet and shower was that it was attached to the owners house and it was a bit of a trek and would be more so for someone who has a disability and would be suitable to have nearer the field as this would give the owners a bit more privacy (not a critism but beneficial for all).
The owner was lovely lady and was very friendly.
It was a 5 minute car ride into Hornsea where you will find amusements, beach and the mere (where you can hire boats).
We found a lovely pub which does lovely cheap meals (from £2.99 up to aprox £4.99) in Hornsea called Marine and this is on Marine Drive adjacent to the promenade near the Floral Hall.
Would we go again? Most definitely as it's not too far from home but far enough to get away from things.
The site fees were £10 per night and for an awning it cost an additional £2 per night. We thought this was very reasonable.

Just returned after bank holiday weekend and loved every minute,
Perfect for kids due to loads of space, nice and quiet and very helpful neighbours who assisted with torn tyre and broken water pump (many thanks you know who you are)
Handy for Hornsea great beach and not as busy as Brid/Scarborough. Owners very friendly and future plans do include a move for the showers / toilets which will only enhance this site.
Would recommend for anyone wanting a quiet break and everyone we spoke to on site said they would come back we definitely would.
Spoke briefly with owners who said that as they have only been open since easter they are pleased with how things are going and are eager to please and improve wherever, my only advice was the sign as it is tricky to find, they don't want to change too much as it is as good as you are going to get anywhere. We will be back

Myself, husband and 4yr old grandaughter stayed for 3 nights over the Bank Holiday at White Cottage and enjoyed every minute! Although there are no children's facilities it did not matter, she loved watching the horses in next doors paddock, and being the only ones on site had plenty of space to play,(new space hopper provided much amusement) Great being just 5 minutes drive into Hornsea for beach, park, swimming and ice-creams!
Site had just 1 shower and toilet, although no problem for our stay would imagine when full may cause frustration! (owners father-in-law did mention they were considering moving facilities to a better spot,so watch this space)
Overall we could not fault White Cottage for a peaceful, well priced getaway and will be visiting again.
If I had to say one thing negative it would be that better signage would be beneficial as we did drive straight past and had to turn back, only just spotting the driveway on passing.
