Fantastic site.
Sign always says full because the owners will not over fill the site.
Also, they have a steady trade of day trippers for the lake, whome they charge £5- per vehicle. On a nice day there are family groups setting up there BBQ's on the lakeside and frollicking in their watercraft. Not to many though.
There is a 'regulars' feel to the site. Many people seem to store boats on the lakeside and the best parts of the site are restricted for 'members'. On one evening during our stay I did have to remind a group of these 'members' (at 20 past midnight) that there was a noise curfew! But, they were very obliging and gave up there fireside enthusiasm.
During the next days we exchanged friendly hello's and I did not feel uneasy at all.
The lake is beautiful in the morning and the site is sheltered and well kept.
I believe that there were two showers in the ladies room and the facilities were well cleaned. However, I failed to have an enjoyable experience, in the one gents shower, and after mentioning it to the owner he quickly put an out of order sign on the coin box.
Stopped the problem rather than solved it.
The toilets were clean though, and the water from the sink taps was always hot!
There is a lovely freedom of feeling to this site and you never tire of walking round it. I found myself walking round the edge of the lake to the toilets rather than taking a direct path.
The owner told me that he had offered the site for sale previously. I presumed that he had not got the price he wanted.
This, I think, is the reason for the reluctance to upgrade facilities. However, between him and his son they provide excellent site security and upkeep.
The lady of the house may where the trousers though in my limited experience of them?
Excellent people.
Highly recommended by us and would advise to prebook!

Spent 6 nights at this campsite.
The site is in a fantastic and beautiful location - right on the lake side and with superb views of the mountains. There is a relaxed atmosphere. We were not affected by late night noise (not always the case) as other campers respected the 11pm noise rule.
You can also light log fires on the lake side and sit and watch the sun go down - it really is a special place.
It is a great site for children and families. The shops are a few mins drive away (Bala) and if you have a boat or canoe this is the site for you!
The toilet and shower block is not really the right size - only 1 shower for men and two for ladies; there is a 50p charge (5 mins) and more than once the showers in the mens had gone cold - so either get in early or leave it until the afternoon!
There is only one sink plug in the mens wash area - I was going to buy one but forgot.
Being in North Wales the rain does come - no problem with out pitch but the washing up area (only 1 sink) could really do with a simple rain cover and extending to give two sinks.
Having said all that we enjoyed our 6 nights and would re-visit. The owner, Mr Roberts is very friendly and made us feel at home.

We have just spent a few days here and it was brill. The site is in a great location for Bala town, just 3 miles away.
Very clean and well kept site. Shower cost 50p for approx 5 min, could have done with a little longer but it was warm and clean.
It cost us £17 per night, that's two adults and 1 child no electric.Dogs very welcome but must be kept on leads at all times, probably because sheep walk around the site. We will definitely be returning.

Just back from a great weekend at this lovely site. Clean and friendly, beautiful location. Loads of space. Miles of good walks and shops / amenities not far away. We launched our dinghy from the site We plan to return soon.
We had some gales for a short time and needed to modify our pitch (our family had a tent next to our awning) The pitches with hook up seemed a bit exposed, we will stay on gas next time on their lovely sheltered pitches.

We have been here before and will go again.
It is one of the nicest sites I have been to.
The loos & showers are nicer than ours at home and have Imperial Leather soap !
If you go, there is a main field which is fine, but there is a side field that is a lot quieter and you can park in amongst the trees and have a small log fire too :)
This time we parked up in the third option, that is right at the lake shore. Great going to sleep listening to the waves lapping over the pebbles.
Btw, best to phone up before arriving, he is a very nice bloke but prefers you to do this, also it always says 'Full up' on the gate for some reason, even when it is nearly empty.
Cost was £15 per night for our VW Camper Van
Beautiful scenery.
The small town of Bala is around 3 miles away and has shops, café's, restaurants and pubs.

Great basic campsite right on the lakeside. Small shower block with only 2 toilets and showers. Downsides were that the showers cost 50p a time and there was only one washing up sink so you had to wait, but a good way of meeting new people. No Shop on site but only 5 mins away from town centre. Dogs welcome on site, and fires can be made on the beach. Great walks in the area and good for watersports.
