I take issue with some of the points of the last review as they are very small things to worry about; this is one of the nicest campsites I have been to. It's a lovely place.
1. Location, location, location - near fab safe beach, large co-op, cafe, takeaways, pubs, bank, We had a good Indian take away.
We could only hear the little river at the side, no traffic noise.
2. The site - owner very helpful, found space for extra people with us.
The farm isn't run down and unused buildings - it's grade II listed with potential for sensitive restoration and loads of interesting features if you take the time to look around. Google the history before you visit.
Pitches flat, very spacious and no trouble with pegs. The coed field has been dug out, rocks riddled and re turfed, shouldn't be any peg problems as previously mentioned.
The ground isn't uneven - a few clods maybe - it's a field not a bowling green.
Very sheltered with walls around the sites.
3. Facilities - hard standing for cars and very useful for packing up. Barns with picnic tables for shelter. Fire pit hire was much appreciated.
Toilets and showers as previously described, I don't expect heated bathrooms when I'm camping.
Covered wash up area with big sink and unlimited hot water. It's a packed earth floor, can't see it getting muddy - it's under cover and anyway that's what wellies are for.
4. Taking the kids. - Very safe for small children as the site is gated. No playground but we prefer not to spend all day pushing swings. There was plenty of space for them to run around and play games. A green lane (remnant of a carriage drive) to kick a ball without annoying others. Think the barn with the pool table has been demolished.
The overgrown garden at the back was a haven of wild flowers and the long nettles prevented the kids from wandering too far. The river is behind a wall and can't be reached from the site.
Although we like to try different places, I am of a mind to make this a regular place to take the children as it ticks all the boxes, and will certainly go back.

We had the most excellent time camping at Platts Farm. A really warm welcome awaited us when we arrived.
The farm buildings are really beautiful grey stone.
The camp site is really sheltered with farm buildings and walls on two sides of the area we camped. There is a beautiful if neglected walled garden adjoining one of the two areas for camping.
A great delight was the fact we could have an open fire in a fire basket (delivered with logs and fire lighters to our tent).
The facilities may not be the grandest, but a delightful touch was soap by the hand basins, and washing up liquid by the sink. The showers were great, with loads of hot water.
I really loved camping at Platts farm, so much so I wondered about sharing it in a review. I hope its not all booked up next time I want to go!
Have to go back to the wonderful huge beach with fantastic views to the Great Orme.

The other reviewers were spot on with their reviews of this little campsite. The owners of Platt’s Farm were friendly and helpful. We have a larger than average tent and were allocated two pitches at no extra cost, which we thought was very generous.
On arrival we were led to our pitch by a friendly young man who showed us the facilities. The owner froze our ice blocks for us on day two at no extra charge and was very helpful and informative about places to go in the area.
We had booked for three nights with the option to stay longer but the weather changed so we left earlier than planned because of the rain.
The facilities are very basic, two toilets and two showers - on the downside there is no heating in the toilets and showers, although this was not a problem to us as the weather was hot and sunny, but I imagine that during the colder months this would be a disadvantage.
There is a sink for washing up, again plenty of hot water, and a drinking water tap, however although under cover the ground was just dirt and dust and not concrete; which I imagine could get very muddy judging by the foot prints around the edge.
It was easy to pitch our tent as the ground was soft but firm, however because of the size of our tent, some of our guy ropes reached the area not renovated and our pegs were damaged by the rocky ground, we even struggled to get rock pegs in – this would not be a problem with average sized tents.
The cars are parked on concrete in the centre of the field, which looks as if it is the site of a demolished farm building. Take a torch as there is an old drainage pipe sticking out of the ground which could potentially be a hazard walking from the tent to the toilets in the dark, also the ground around the centre of the field is uneven.
First impressions on arrival were a little disappointing as we drove through disused and run down farm buildings to get to the pitch, however, this is a new campsite and I believe the owners have plans to develop further.
There was no sign of the games room mentioned by a previous reviewer, but we didn't ask about it so cannot really comment. A nice touch was the pots of flowers and plants around the site, with lights marking the edge of the path.
We took our dog with us and discovered that there are plenty of areas to walk our dog although there isn't a dedicated area, however there isn’t a bin for doggy waste.
Platt’s Farm is close to the village with take-aways, cafes, small supermarkets, post office, bank & cash point and two pubs all within 5 to 10 minutes walking distance. 15 minutes walk to the beach with a small playground area for children and paddling pool, there is a small lake (or large pond) with ducks, geese and swans.
Once at the beach the views are stunning. There is a nice café at the beach with tables outside; a nice touch was the bowls of water left out for dogs, which was appreciated by our Jack Russell.
Although this site is currently not for us, as we do like our luxuries, I would recommend Platt’s Farm and we did enjoy our stay there.
It is a new site with a lot of potential and we would like to go back in a few years to see how it has changed. The site is very quiet and peaceful, although at night you can hear the traffic on the A55 in the distance and the occasional train it was a mild distraction rather than a nuisance.
We pitched our tent facing west (I think) and had a view of a very overgrown garden which looked as if it could have originally been a walled rose garden or vegetable garden.
If you are looking for a luxury campsite then this is definitely not for you, but the site has a certain rustic charm which after a couple of days does grow on you.
However, if you are looking for a campsite that is sheltered, close to local amenities and cheap & cheerful then I would recommend it. We chose the site because it is sheltered on all four sides and were not disappointed on this aspect.
We were visited by rabbits, hedgehogs and squirrels that came quite close to our tent and didn’t appear to be afraid of us, which enthralled the children in the next tent.

We stayed for the May bank holiday weekend and was very impressed with it all, proper camping the way it should be, in my honest opinion, not a camping holiday park.
The location is great, tucked away in the grounds of an old farm which is under renovation and considering the weather when we were there, high winds and overnight rain, is very sheltered.
It's a 10 minute walk to the village for the pubs, shops and takeaways(if you need them), 15 minute walk to the beach and sea front.
Being a Manchester United fan, we watched the champions league final in one of the village pubs and couldn't have had a friendlier time, brilliant despite the loss!
The actual site is split into 2 fields and there are undercover places so you can still cook food and get packed up even if it's raining.
The owner, Sam, is really helpful, told us everything we needed to know about the site when we arrived and showed us to our pitch. She froze some icepacks for us one afternoon, for which there was no charge, which we completely forgot about!
She kindly brought them to our tent the next morning! Little touches like this do make a difference, as did the washing up liquid and soap at the washing up sinks.
There are 2 shower cubicles with lockable doors, each with hot water, their own sinks and large mirrors. In the entrance to the washroom you will find a double plug socket for all electricals.
The pitches are all level, well drained, sheltered and good for your pegs.
Ideally situated to travel to Bangor, Conway or even further afield and would recommend a visit to Aber Falls which is amazing to see and the nature reserve walk at the top of Valley road in Llanfairfechan village.
Our thanks to Sam and her team, we had a great weekend, met some good people, it's fantastic value for money and the facilities were clean and well looked after.
We will definitely be returning to Platts Farm again in the near future.

Great little campsite, friendly owners who directed us to our pitch and showed us around the facilities, 2 toilets, 2 shower rooms, undercover sink all with hot and cold water and recycle bins.
Ideally situated to travel around and virtually next door to the Aber Falls walk which is amazing to see. The disused barn buildings are great to use for cooking or packing up your tent in the rain (which we did as there was torrential rain the day we left).
The only hardship we came across was putting the tent pegs in the ground as it is very hard under the surface and one of the nights a group of 8 teenagers arrived and were very noisy into the early hours but the site owner came down to tell them to be quiet and they left the morning after.
A great site, we will definitely be returning again next year with non-standard tent pegs.

I arrived here during the second week of September.
From the Train Station it was a fifteen minute walk straight up the high street and on the right.
I was met by a man who showed me to the camping area. The impression I got from the man was friendly and flexible.
Although Platt's Farm is described thus, I saw no livestock, or farming taking place. Platt's Farm is a collection of disused buildings, a few of which have been put to use as the camping facilities (one of which a games room).
For a campsite which charges only £6 per night, I found the facilities more than adequate. All the hot taps ran hot water. The showers were free and they also ran hot/warm water. There was even hand sanitizing gel besides the regular hand wash gel. I should not forget the recycling bins that were also provided.
As the week progressed and the winds increased, I noticed how sheltered the camping area was: to my rear was a small wood; to my right the strong slate farm buildings; my left, a wall or fence and in front some large dwellings which fronted onto the high street.
Inclement weather was my reason for bringing forward departure day. When I was almost ready to leave, the land lady came to see me and we had a good chat. She explained to me that the campsite was only about a year old. I should like to come back here in five or so years and see what else there is here.
One important point I should mention, apart from the obvious one about Platt's Farm being ideally placed for walks on the Carnedd Massif, is that there is plenty of choice in Llanfairfechan for takeaway food including Chinese, fish and chips and Indian. There is a florist shop, too, which has a very good selection of second hand books!

Stayed August bank holiday. This is a new venture (June this year) set in the grounds of a grade 2 listed farmhouse currently under renovation. This a family run site by the proprietors. You have to approach this site with an open mind and foresight as there are plans to acquire more land and further development. At present it is a basic site but with toilet facilities x 2, shower facilities x 2, under cover dishwash and veg preparation with hot & cold running water and a tap for your water container. There is no elsan disposal at present, but the toilets are so close it really is not a problem.
Families are most welcome, but there is no playground, plans are afoot to install one later. I personally thought I would struggle having come down from luxurious caravanning to camping, but I had great time here. What this site boasts at present is the location to amenities, pubs, super market, cashpoint, beach and playgrounds for children also a paddling pool near the sea front plus a cafe that serves beer and meals overlooking the sea all approx 10min walk. Numerous mountain walks that are easy and not so easy.

Platts Farm is a fantastic little campsite only a minutes drive from the A55 in Llanfairfechan. It is easy to find and close to the centre of the village.
You go down a small drive to get to the farm & through the first set of gates, which the reception of the campsite is next to. Owner is really helpful & told us everything we needed to know when arriving on site & directed us to where we would be camping.
The actual place that you pitch the tents is separated into 2 areas & there are plenty of undercover places so you can still cook food even if it's raining. There are 2 shower cubicles with lockable doors, each with hot water, their own sinks and large mirrors. In the entrance to the washroom you will find a double plug socket for hairdryer/straighteners etc.
Outside the washroom is the washing up area with clean drinking water, both recycling and normal bins, a sink with hot and cold water & all the facilities you need to wash up including dish cloths, washing up liquid and brushes.
Behind the washing up area is the toilet cubicles. There are 2 toilets which are stocked up with toilet roll, so no need to bring your own!
Fires are allowed on site, however this must be in a firebucket which can be rented from reception for £3, this comes with kindling and wood. If anymore is needed you can buy it as you go. There is also no time restriction on when they have to be put out which is an advantage.
In one of the old farm buildings there is a pool table which is open until about 10pm so again if it's raining there is somewhere to go other than your tent.
The actual site is not like any other I have been to before as it is situated in a disused farm & next to what appear to be ruins, so for kids it would be great for them to explore without being able to get out of the site. For adults it's a nice quiet site & everyone was really friendly.
Overall it was a great break as we were only 15 minutes from Llandudno & Bangor was close as well. It was fantastic value for money & the facilities were clean and looked after. The only thing I would mention is that it some of the pegs were difficult to put in as the ground could be quite hard in places.
However we will definitely be returning to Platts Farm again!
