The best site we have stayed at, wonderful pitch, wooded surrounds, excellent washing and toilet block. Lovely owners who were extremely helpful.
Would recommend to anyone, we would definetly be returning next year, as an ideal location to everything we needed.
Tthe only bad thing which is a little niggle really, is that the road leading to site and roads on site could be better with perhaps a bit of tarmac. But would not let that stop you staying there, very good value for money.

We have just returned from a really enjoyable 5 day stay at this great camp site. What really impressed us straight away was how 'cozy' this site felt, particularly in the wooded areas. Now that we have 'gone gas' with our refridgeration plant we were able to go non-EHU and go native in the woody bit. Having said that, there were perfectly acceptable EHU pitches in the wooded area, so you can have your cake and eat it. The owners are really friendly and have two beautiful dogs; talk about 'little and large', the smaller dog was not much bigger than the big dog's head! Can't remember the breed of the bigger dog but they're having a rally for that particular breed later in the season. Talking about rallies, the lower field (on restricted dates) is designated for that purpose. A church group had bagged last weekend and it was great to see so many families enjoying this great site (and good weather) together. There are (as previously posted) plenty of good walks and the owner supplied a 'home brew' map to help us; the Rambler's Association have their monicle on at least one of them. Our weekend was 'tank fest' at nearby Bovington and the mock battle was excellent. For those interested there are two permanent (free) car parks positioned at the most interesting parts of the tank 'assault course' so a short drive away from the camp site affords tank fans a year-round opportunity to see real exercises by the Brtish Army. We will definitely camp at Rowlands Wait again; highly recommended.

We chose this site based upon its good reviews and I am pleased to report that the site is every bit as good as the reviews suggest.
It's easy to find just outside Bere Regis and the welcome you get from the staff is both warm and efficient. Plenty of space in a choice of fields and we were surprised that there were so few campers there over the weekend ( 7/8 June).
The toilets / shower block is as good as I have ever come across and was spotlessly clean. OK it's a litle walk from there to the far field but not so bad.
There's a great walk down a track from the bottom field to Bere Regis (about a 20 minute stroll) and the village has 2 nice pubs serving good real ale and super food. So good, the walk back takes around twice as long!
For nature lovers visiting the site, make sure you walk up the hill away from the main entrance onto some heathland and a disused quarry. We saw deer , butterflies, rabbits, etc. For sheer rarity value though, listen out at dusk. I heard a nightjar for the first time in my life.
On a closing note , there is a farm shop almost opposite the entrance to the site. Can't say more because we didn't go in but it looks good from the outside. Anyone else sampled their goods?

This site is great! myself and my boyfriend decided to go camping for the first time and we found Rowlands Wait and it was perfect. We're staying again later this month and will definitely go back after that. The facilities are great, very clean and washing up block is also very clean and also sheltered.
The surrounding area is also very good as Monkey World is only a very short way away and many different other attractions including historic ones.
This site is just perfect for all ages whether you've got children or you just want a short get away. This site is very relaxing and I'm looking forward to my weekend there in a couple of weeks!

This was our first time out this year and with Easter being so early the weather was a bit unsettled. We were allocated a pitch on a slightly sloping field, the owners said if we had any problems they had a tractor. Well, we did have a problem, the car couldn't get any grip. The man behind offered the use of his 4x4, but with the help of him and another man we pushed the 'van into place. There are cut railway sleepers available for leveling up.The site was full but very peacefull. Showers free. Hand washing soap supplied which has been sadly lacking in some sites. We asked to stay late on Easter Monday and this wasn't a problem,we just put a few pounds in the flower fund pot.
Poole,Wareham ,Monkey world and the tank museum are all just a short drive away.
We will return to this site and hopefully will enjoy better weather.

We stayed here over the 1st May bank holiday. Had a great weekend, very friendly site, great walks for the dogs. Kids enjoyed the play area and exploring in the wooded area. Bere Regis itself is very quiet as we walked to the shops one day and everything was shut, not sure about the pub there, we didnt go in didnt look that welcoming, although the camp site shop is quite well stocked with basic provisions.
Showers and toilet blocks clean and kept clean daily. Would definitely recommend this site.

My family have stayed at Rowlands Wait numerous times over the years and have always had a lovely time. The staff are friendly and the facilities are of a good standard and well maintained. There is a shop on site for your essentials, reasonably priced. The owners encourage you to recycle which is good.
The surrounding area is beautiful and very peaceful. The village of Bere Regis is close by and has a couple of little shops and pubs. The location is great for visiting local attractions too. Highly recommended.

Very nice friendly and clean campsite. Stayed in the wooded area, bit muddy due to very heavy rain the week before, but dried out fine. Facilities always clean and rarely had to queue. Defnitely one to return to. Our two children (7 and 6 at the time) thoroughly enjoyed this site, it felt safe enough to let them have some independence.

We chose this site after reading the reviews, we stayed for three nights, in a nutshell this was the only campsite we have stayed on where everything was perfect. The location is well off the road, the owners are extremely friendly and helpful in making your stay pleasant. The facilities were spotless and clean every time we used them. Would without question recommend this site to anyone with a caravan or tent, and we will definitely return again. Thank You.

Stayed for 7 nights, arrived just after one of the wettest weeks ever so the site was very water logged and muddy but the staff did their best to get us a dry pitch that drained well, this is a lovely site lots of different areas with trees to protect against rain and wind. After a few days of sun the site dried out well great staff who were always helpful small but well stocked shop and small play area for younger children. Toilets and showers always clean and hot just a bit of a walk from our pitch with small children or late at night. The site is very central to travel all around Dorset and very reasonable would re visit if ever in the area again
