We have recently returned from a week supporting a group of friends doing the Cost to Coast cycle ride. Pateley Bridge was at the end of a very tough day, when the poor cyclists couldn't go on any more! This site was a Godsend and the owner very welcoming when we turned up unannounced.
The facilities were first class and we were allowed to choose where we pitched our Campervan and two tents. The site is ideally situated for a quick walk into Pateley Bridge, which has several places to eat.
Showers and toilets immaculate, grounds perfectly groomed. The site has quite a formal atmosphere, and if we had been with children I might have felt a little uncomfortable about them running amok.
Having said that, the thing that impressed me most was the efficiency and organisational skills of the owners. The night we stayed they had quite a considerable water leak, but it was dealt with calmly and very professionally. An immaculate and very well run site.

Just spend a week at the site and found the entire setup perfect for my requirements.
The shower blocks were immaculate, the on site team friendly and helpful, even by pushing your van into place on arrival.
The site is situated in pately bridge for all local shops and pubs etc. The meals in the crown pub were amazing. There is a park nearby for the kids and endless walks with stunning views along the river Nidd.
One great holiday even though the weather was poor. There was also a VW 'dubs in dales' ralley in the show field adjacent with groups on.

I went to this campsite with my two young sons (aged 9 & 7) in our caravan and my two retired parents in their caravan. The welcome was warm and friendly, very helpful in getting us to our pitch but then, as we said we didn't need any help, left us alone to set up.
The site itself is small and safe for children. There were quite a few other kids that my sons played with and they had a wonderful time. For me I wouldn't say that this is a family site. It is very family friendly but there wasn't a space on site that the kids could play away from the caravans and there were no on-site play facilities. That said there is a very good playground only 3mins walk away.
This site was a wonderful base for us for this week and we would probably go back.

Just come back from a 3 night stay and we found this site to be absolutely brilliant. The pitches are all flat and did not hit one stone when putting pegs in. The showers etc are up steps but there is a disabled one by the office. The owner was really nice and drove round the site a couple of times a day to see if everything ok. Our first night was disturbed by loud voices, laughing and door slamming till the early hours even though it should be quiet at 10-30pm. We [and ]others did complain and it was dead quiet the next nights. The village is 2 mins away along a lovely river walk. There are a couple of pubs with food, great little shops for groceries, papers etc. Great pies at the butchers and a smashing little fish and chip shop. Will definitely be going back. The whole area is beautiful and great places to visit within a short drive away. Small park adjacent to site where the children play ball games and there are swings etc. The whole site was kept very clean and the showers were always spotless whatever tome you went.

This site is without doubt one of the finest in the area.
Clean facilities and well cared for pitches.
Walkable along the river to the Town which has a good few shops to browse and buy provisions.
A couple of takeaways if a bit too wet and cold for BBQs. The play area for our children is safe and clean and far enough away not to be a problem for those without children!.
Great walks all around and pubs selling good food. Highly recommend a visit to Coldstone Cut which is only a short drive away. Views are superb and an interesting visit!

Just home from a showery week in Pateley Bridge - but what fun we've had!
Lots of wonderful walks - following the Nidderdale Way seeing lots of baby everything - lambs, rabbits, ducklings, goslings - we even saw a deer near Lofthouse!
The site is perfectly placed for nipping into the village with its very good shops. We ate at the Crown Inn twice and it was very good. Also there is a lovely riverside walk which makes walking the dog a pleasure regardless of the rain.
The wardens are very friendly and helpful, the facilities lovely and clean ( no charge for showers here). It may get a bit busier at weekends but during the week it was very quiet and peaceful.
We'll most probably be back later in the year!

We have just stayed at the Riverside Caravan Park and you always get a friendly welcome and help sighting your caravan. The toilets and showers are always clean(stone stairs)even when full.
Great location for walks, kids park nearby great shops in the village 5 min walk away(recommend Kendal butchers top of high street on the right fantastic meat and pork pies).
Plenty of places to walk your dog, also recommend Harefield Hall Hotel great food nice welcome cosy log fire and you can bring your dog, it's just as you leave Patley on the Harrogate road on the right or as you walk down the Nidd walk on your left(good kids menu reasonable prices).
Go and stay you won't be disappointed.

A tidy clean and friendly site.
The toilet block is accessed by a flight of stone steps. The facilities were always clean and we visited at a weekend when the site was full. The showers (ladies) were well designed with each cubicle providing an area to change in that didn't get wet from the shower! There was a hairdryer for 20p or a 20p slot for access to electric socket so you could use your own tongs or hairdryer.
Bin areas were always tidy and never any mess around them. There were families on site and all children seemed to be respectful of the site's requests for them not to cycle on grass or paths beside toilet block.
It is ideally placed for Pately Bridge Town, this being a few minutes walk along the path between the river and playing fields. Plenty of opportunities for walks of all lengths from the site.
A lovely site, superbly located and to be recommended for tents, tourers or campers.

What can I say, excellent facilities, clean, local to all amenities, (butchers and the cricket were just up my street! and the children thoroughly enjoyed the local bakery and of coarse the sweet shop!
Will definitely be going back soon.

We were passing through on a bank holiday weekend and saw this fantastically located site had a couple of empty pitches so took a chance.
We're so glad we did - friendly owners, good, clean facilities (with plenty hot water and never had to queue even at peak season).
Pateley Bridge is a charming little town with pubs, restaurants, takeaways and good butchers and other shops.
Ripon is well worth a visit with lots of good independent shops as well as 4 supermarkets, cathedral, Lightwater Valley, Newby Hall and a fantastic electrical shop with the biggest display of motorhome/caravan TVs I've ever seen!
