We stayed for four nights with a two man tent. It was one of the nicest sites I have ever stayed at. The Owners were very friendly and helpful.
The toilets, showers and sinks and the washing up areas were exceptionally clean and very well maintained.
There were two fields, one with electric hook ups for caravans and trailer tents, which we were offered a place in but we chose the second field which was for tents.
The location was good for walking the south west coastal path as the circular bus which runs from St Ives to Penzance via Lands End stops right outside.

We pulled into this campsite on the off chance when touring in Cornwall on my motorcycle. We spoke to the owner and he told us he was full but insisted on walking around the site to try and squeeze us in.
We eventually found a bit of grass big enough to put our tent on,we walked back to the reception to get the bike, only to ride to the pitch to find someone had parked a car on the spot.
In the meantime the wife was trying to contact home on the mobile and found that she had no signal at all (Vodaphone),those two issues made us decide to move on to another site.
It was our fault for not booking but because of the site and the very friendly welcome we got I wouldn't hesitate in visiting again.

This holiday camp site gives exactly what the brochures offer. Very friendly, very relaxed, excellent facilities, and a happy place to be. Within a day, we were saying, 'lets go home'(to Kelynack), at the end of each day, rather than 'lets go back to the campsite'.
The surrounding coastline is stunning, the walks are countless, and the local village still has a strong, friendly community cohesion that is missing from most places these days.
Huge compliments, and gratitude to Francis and Wendy for maintaining such a wonderful place for a holiday.

Just returned from a wonderful week in Cornwall at the campsite. The owner, Francis, is a really nice man. Always helpful and knowledgeable. Site is clean and tidy, though the bins got a bit full sometimes. Showers were always hot, toilets reasonably clean, shop was small but stocked the essentials.
There is a freezer for your ice blocks, they ask a small donation to the Air Ambulance service. You are under the flight path for Lands End airport, but the planes don`t start until after 7am. Being our first time, we had no knowledge of the area and after a chat with Francis we were given many ideas for visits.
St. Just is down the road and has a couple of supermarkets, newsagents, bakers, pubs, restaurants and a chip shop. Penzance is about 15 mins away from the campsite and has a Tesco and Morrisons, along with a KFC and McDonalds.
Lands End is not far away, a bit commercial, but we passed through to the stunning coastal walk. Sennen Cove is near too. Will visit again next year.

Spent a week here with my Wife, Daughter and three Grandchildren. Couldn`t fault it. Had a great time, the children loved the play area so much it was hard to get them to come out to the beach.
Facilities were very very good. Showers were exceptional, loads of room to undress and leave clothes and towels in the dry. The owners couldn`t have been more helpful and friendly.
This is the only site we will use in future visits to Cornwall. We have visited Cornwall for over 20 years so have used a lot of different campsites. This is the best.

We weren't overly impressed with Kelynack. The owners were friendly & helpful & the campsite itself is well situated for walks & local attractions but we found the bathroom facilities were smelly & not very clean & the pitches were too close together, which didn't allow for any privacy.
It is not a large site & it felt as though the owners were trying to squeeze as many people as they could in & forsaking peace & quiet for numbers. When the families with what seemed like 15 children each turned up, it wasn't much fun.
Not that we dislike children it's just that they were constantly screaming & shouting & playing their games right by our tent because everyone was crammed in so close.
Shame because if they just took away some of the pitches to give a little more space & cleaned the loos & showers more often, it would have been nice.

This was our 2nd visit to Kelynack and we will be coming back again and again.
The site is tucked away in a quiet valley with a tranquil steam running through. This is a small site with just a handful of statics and a small field for camping but if peace and quiet is what you want then I would recommend Kelynack.
One of the highlights is the 2 donkeys which became 3 as one them gave birth whilst we were there!
The owners of this site were really friendly and made us feel most welcome.
There is a small shop on site which does the very basics but St Just is only about a mile away with plenty of pubs and shops.
This is a lovely site and a great place for exploring a beautiful part of Cornwall.
I terms of the area we have been to the Penwith Peninsula many times and find it the most beautiful part of Cornwall.
If you get a sunny day head to Porthcurno Beach. You'll be hard pushed to find a nicer beach anywhere in the world.
The drive to St Ives along the coast road is also wonderful with lots of points of interest on the way. There is also an open top bus to St Ives which is a good way to enjoy the view.
Can't wait for our next trip to Kelynack this is a place we will be coming back to again and again.

This year I have started to make more of an effort to find campsites which allow fires. Having stayed at other campsites across the West Country and Wales I have found that to be allowed fires you have to make a sacrifice on quality of facilities, particularly lack of electrical hook ups. I have finally found a campsite that has it all; friendly staff, lovely flat (only a slight slope where we pitched) pitches, hook up and fires. To have a fire it has to be raised off the ground so as not to burn the grass - I used my BBQ.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the kitchen and shower facilities. Everything was shiny new and modern. The coin machines are within the cubicle unlike the other side of the room like at some sites! The blocks are cleaned daily at around mid day. I did experience a slightly chilly shower one morning but I can only blame myself really for lying in late. There are recycling facilities here which is also great
There is a Morrisons in Penzance and a local co-op in St Just. There is also a local butchers which sadly I didn't get to try as I had brought up some food from home. There are two pubs in St Just within staggering distance but to be honest I was happy relaxing on the site with a bottle of Cornish Rattler and a fire. This site is in a great location for visiting the lovely town of St Ives. It is near a road but its mainly slow moving traffic which is barely noticeable at night.
I will most definitely be returning to this campsite. What a pleasure it was to camp here.

Good points - Brilliant small and attractive site tucked away off a quiet country lane just outside St Just. This was our first visit, and we found the site to be a little larger than expected, there are a couple of fields with statics at the entrance to the site while the main feild is a mix of Tents, Motorhomes and Caravans. There is also a nice and quiet ( no EHU ) small field off the main field very private with space for around 5 or 6 tents. The services block was above our expectation clean and spacious, very good showers (20p 4 mins) Handy Laundry and washing up area and the site has a good little shop that opens in the morning till 10 and then again early evening. Under the flight path to Lands End Airport so some low light aircraft noise. Owner was helpful, staff friendly and the site was generally quiet apart from one noisy Caravan owner who was soon silenced by the site owner. Small games Shack with Table tennis, but this was in a bit of a state. Little children's play area and lovely walk from the site entrance along the lane.
Any Negatives ? well maybe I'm being picky, but we found that as some of the pitches had not had chance to 'recover' and as such when it rained there was a lot of slippy muddy stuff which made things messy, Slightly surprised that Campers were mixed in with Caravanners Large Bins were full to bursting a lot of the time, and perhaps a few squirts of bleach for the gents loos would have kept the odd odour in check. Apart from that great site and will be back !

Lovely little campsite about 3.5 miles from lands End and 1.5 miles from St Just.
Campsite caters for statics, touring caravans, campervans and tents.
Campsite is level and flat, it rained very heavily for most of the week but the ground remained very well drained.
Campsite is well sheltered from surrounding tree's and the natural valley its nestled in.
Facilities include on-site sandwich van for early morning breakfast, didn't try it but heard good reports. Shower block for male and female, 20p for four minutes. Could do with some plastic mats down or something, the stone floor is very cold underfoot. Showers were always clean as were the toilets.
Next to the toilet block was the washing machine room, £4 for one wash but you can fit a lot in. Also next to this was the washing basins, 3 in total and hot water was free.
Apart from a couple of nights the 10.15 no noise curfew was kept.
The owner is very informative, he makes sure you are ok once you have pitched and comes round the site to make sure you are ok several times a day. He as a little shop which stocks the basics at reasonable prices, we were able to use the freezer to freeze our freezer blocks, donations are taken for the air ambulance for this service.
St Just is a small village about 20mins walk from the site across the fields. 4 pubs a small COOP, galleries, post office and butcher can be found here.
Penzance is about 9 miles away, Morrissons and tesco's for bigger shops can be found here. Nice town really, all the major banks and shops are here as well as a nice harbour and sea front walks.
I would recommend this site for famillies and couples alike looking for a peaceful location although you do get a bit of noise from the local airfield from the planes landing and taking off but after a while you get used to it.
