Just back from two nights camping at this site. Our group included an 8 year old boy - we wondered why he couldn't find the play area! A pleasant site with friendly staff and clean facilities. It is primarily a caravan site and the tent area was crowded, but I've seen worse, particularly given the site was full and it's high season.
Very convenient if you are looking for somewhere to stay before flying out of the airport - walking distance from the airport & train station.

Very nice site to walk round. More geared for Statics, and they are all well looked after.
Had to pitch the tent outside the toilet block. There was 4 points for hook up but had 4 tents or tourers been there we would have been stuck for space. As it was there was us and 1 other tent.
The toilets were very nice kept. Clean and the showers were good.
Close walk to the beach, and nice to watch all the aeroplanes go by. The town centre of prestwick is nice too.
The bar area is nice, but if you have children you are not allowed in the actual bar area, you have to sit down beside the shop area, where there is a pool table. The seats down in this area were poor and very uncomfortable. We were very disapointed as the bar area is very nice with comfy chairs. The prices were expensive also. 2 women who seemed to either own the bar, or related too sat in the bar area and had there toddler run anywhere he likes, in the bar behind the bar etc. Why is it one rule for them and another for everyone else!
No play area outside for children which is a disapointement. We felt this site really wasnt very welcoming for children.

Really nice well kept site. Mostly statics. Tents and caravans were placed around the old house which is also the bar area. Clean toilets and hot powerful adjustable showers. The water at the hand basins can get very hot so take care. First night was quiet, second night a bit noisier as there was a wedding party in the house/bar and they had a disco. The planes didn,t bother me and my OH loved them. You feel you could just about touch then as they go over. A couple of hours can go by before you see one so its not as if they are taking off every 5 minutes. £5 returnable deposit needed for the loo key. £20 per night with EHU. Beach a 5 minute walk away. Laundry room, chemical disposal on site. No recycling that I could see. Prestwick village a few minutes away in the car with lots of shops and a somerfield and tesco metro. Would come again.

Our family (2 adults, 4 year old, 7 year and dog) spent just one night in our tent at this site. We did enjoy ourselves, the beach was long and sandy and just a 5 minute walk along a track from the campsite. The site was welcoming and the majority of units were well kept static caravans. The town of Prestwick was very nice, by the beach with lots of shops, bars and cafes as well as a soft play centre on the sea front (although we didn't go in). The site had a small shop selling essentials, reception area with leaflets, a small bar area and pool table. Pros. Well kept site Quiet campers. Near Sandy Beach Flexible arrival times. Nice atmosphere Dog friendly Cons. Right beside Prestwick Airport runway! Really close, if you like planes great but beware they take off all night! The beach is very nice but more of a walking along beach as there was a lot of washed up rubbish. There were signs to a children's play area however when we asked we were told there wasn't one. Toilet block was reasonably clean but basic. Taps difficult to use and the ladies had frosted glass panels in the doors that you could see through! Poor lighting too and also door was heavy for children to get out, I had to rescue a couple! Dishwashing area only had on sink out in the open and waste disposal was 2 toilets outside right next to the dishes and washing drying area! Final moan was that there wasn't a dedicated tent area - there were a couple a areas with tents on them, one near the tourers, one right infront of the toilets and one outside the reception.
