Our third stay at this peaceful site and as before was beautifully maintained with facilities immaculate at all times.
Roger and Frances were as always very friendly and helpful, and always had time for a chat.
We were lucky enough to witness the BTO ringing the 4 Barn owl chicks where Roger and Frances made sure that everyone could get to see them and get a chance to take photos, which quite a few of us did!
As always Rogers fish and chips were excellent and overall we really enjoyed our stay.
The area surrounding the site is great for exploring on foot, by bike or driving, with Huttoft terrace a short distance away where you can walk along the prom to Sutton on Sea or Mablethorpe if you want a longer walk/cycle.
We are looking forward to getting back to stay here again as it is one of our favourite sites!

We really loved this site and found the owners very friendly & our fellow caravanners were also friendly as many of the caravans are on seasonal pitches, we are considering one ourselves.
The site is kept immaculate & the facilities are very clean and tidy. About half a mile down the lane you can park on the sea front and walk either way into Skegness, Mablethorpe or Sutton on Sea which is very convenient as it is flat.
There is fishing on site and my husband spent many a happy hour dabbling. We will certainly be visiting again in the near future hopefully.

We have just returned from our 2nd stay at Jolly Common. What a wonderful site! Very quiet, big pitches in a lovely location, shrubs, trees and a meadow for the wild life. Sat in the evenings watching the barn owl out on patrol. If you like wildlife this is the site for you. Fishing on site and even if you are not a fisherman the pond has lots of wild life to see.
Everything is very well cared for and Roger is on hand should you need anything.
Shower block and toilets have been updated and are very clean.
Handy for Sutton-on-Sea, a traditional little seaside town, usual shops. Butcher, small supermarket that stocks all the essential. Good fish and chip shop, and several pubs.
Beautiful beach, and if you want a ride out, a visit to Bateman's brewery at Wainfleet is about 3/4hr away, well worth a visit, as is Gunby Hall(National Trust), beautiful gardens. Some very pretty villages inland if you leave the main roads. Everthing you need for a lovely few days away. We hope to be back next year.

We arrived the last week of April 'Royal Wedding' week. The weather was good, although a little windy. (East Coast)We have stayed here before and the following is the reason we always start and finish our 'camping year' at Huttoft. (with every effort made for at least one visit in between) The site is well managed and the toilet and showers are always spotless. 'Fish and chip Friday' is the added bonus, if quiet and relaxing is your thing, the arrival of the Fish and Chip van need be your only contact with the outside world. You might even think you had arrived in heaven, as only peace and quiet and the proximity to nature occupies your mind. Every pitch is a good distance from its neighbour. Dogs ( we don't have one) are catered for with good walks all around the site.
The beach is a short walk/cycle away (mile?) or do as we do, drive to the 'car terrace and spend a day (free) just gazing out sea. Fishing on the site lake is another way to spend a day, day dreaming, and will suit every ability of angler. Fish are healthy and clean, they range in size and type. Roach through to large carp, and they are not 'easy' to catch. Each time a 'bigun' is landed, more than a ripple goes around the lake! This year I sat watching my float, not a care or thought on my mind, and I could feel movement beneath my feet, the intrusion to the peace and quiet. A little mole, poking his head up to say good day to me!.
The wild life around the site is great and varied, proof if needed, that this place is 'tranquility' at its best. You want more than nature? try Sutton on Sea, 10 mins by car, and you may visit a 'Seaside' town from yesteryear! With shops you imagine Ronnie Barker to pop up from behind the counter in! With Mablethorpe down the road a little, enter the place I spent my annual holiday's as a child, and memories of this place are wonderfull. You will not be disappointed at all with Jolly Common as your base to 'tour', or just to retreat and drop out of the rat race. ENJOY. Just don't make it a habit, as we have.

Just arrived home from Jolly Common after ten wonderful nights.
This site is a credit to the owners, the toilets and showers are really clean, the site in general is spotless.
There is a fishing lake on site and the way the owners have been sympathetic to the wild life and their surroundings is highly commendable.
This site is easily accessible and is about half a mile from the sea, the peace and quiet is wonderful ,I just need to give the fish and chip van and the ice cream van a mention,
what a lovely holiday cannot wait to go back.

Our second stay here and as being March it was very quite and with only a few other vans on site. This stay was even better than our last one because the Barn Owls had just started nesting and as the site was so peaceful the Male was often seen in the adjacent field, either hunting or sitting on the fence posts before taking the female food. Also the Hares were very active on the site every morning and the birdlife was great. The owners Roger and Frances are very friendly and helpful and really care about their site and everyone who stays there.
The shower/toilet block has had a bit of work, including a new roof we were told, and is very adequate. We also got to taste Rogers famous friday night fish and chips this time and we both agreed they were the best we had had in a long time. And such a very reasonable price too! We cycle and walk and the surrounding area is perfect for both. Huttoft beach, Sutton on Sea and also lovely quiet countryside are all within easy reach. There is also a local supermarket, and Boston and Skegness are both a short drive away. We are looking forward to going back very soon!

To be fair everything what everyone has said so far is spot on. Roger & Frances are an amazing couple. Always on hand should you need them but never ever 'in your faces'. The site itself is perfect and very flat. Hardstanders are available. The shower/toilet block is more than adequate. I must admit we do love the Jolly Common site, I think we've now paid it a visit at least a dozen times over the last 6 or 7 years. If it's peace and quiet you want you've come to the right place. Adults only makes it all the more peaceful & special and believe me I'm not a hater of kids, I've got 3 of my own and 6 grandkids! We all need a bit of time out. The nearby 'main' road (sea lane) is very very quiet and its a lovely safe walk down here to the beach. Mablethorpe, Sutton-On-Sea, Ingoldmells, Chapel St Leonards and Skegness are all within easy reach. Pay this site a visit. I'll guarantee you'll end up going back!

We stayed for one week on this site for the wildlife in the area. Also there was a Barn Owl nesting in the Owl box on the site,(according to Twitter) although I never caught sight of it! The facilities were adequate and kept very clean. The pitches were spacious and the site owners very friendly and helpful. There are lots of walks and cycle routes around the area, but cannot comment on shops/pubs as didn't use any! There is plenty of wildlife in and around the site and there was even Hares with their young (leverets) actually on the site, which is a rare sight! We would definitely go back as was a lovely peaceful site and we enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I spent a week here and thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't add too much about the site that other reviewers have not already covered (cleanliness of facilities, friendliness, peace and quiet, Rogers fish and chips on Friday evenings.) But not many people have commented on the excellent fishing facilities on the beautifully landscaped lake on site which contained a good head of fish to suit any Anglers amongst you. All in all everything me and the wife could have asked for.s.

My wife & I have been visiting this site 2 or 3 times a year for quite a while now.
It is the only site in fact that we continue to return to for all the reasons that have been mentioned in these reviews.
If we can both fully retire next year we intend to look at the possibility of a seasonal pitch but these are usually in short supply at Jolly Common.
