This must be at least our 10th visit to Jolly Common now and we love it! If it's peace and quiet you're looking for you've come to the right place! Roger and Frances are lovely people always on hand if you need a word but never in your faces so to speak. The site itself is laid out perfectly with quite a few hardstanding pitches should you require one and if I'm not mistaken electric hook ups are provided everywhere. Cost per night here is more than reasonable and even better.
The showers are free. The toilet/shower block is very clean and is cleaned everyday by either Frances or Roger. It is of course adults only and that's what makes it even better.
I like a lot of folk who stay at Jolly Common have kids and in my case grandkids too but there's times when you just want total peace and quiet and this site offers plenty of that! If it's hustle and bustle you want just turn left at the end of the lane for Skeggy or turn right for Mablethorpe, both are within short distance. Sutton-on Sea is lovely too. I cannot fault the Jolly Common site one little bit, it really is perfect. Honest!

What a lovely site, I have never been anywhere that was so quiet, all that could be heard was the birds singing! the owners were friendly and helpful. The site is spotless, the toilets are basic but again beautifully clean. There is a real sense of space about the place. If it peace and quiet you want, you will do no better than this site.

I found this site through the adults only search. My wife and I were very pleased with the site as it is very peaceful and tranquil. The current owners, having inherited the site from one of their parents quite a few years back, have worked hard to improve the site, adding electric hook ups, laying a gravel road and hardstanding pitches and doing lots of tree and bush planting.
Roger is very friendly and helpful and his wife, Frances, works really hard on the wildlife and conservation side of things. The bird box for the barn owls which regularly nest there provides a great source of interest and amusement, especially (I am told) in early June when the chicks are learning to fly.
Another thing which struck us was how friendly the other caravanners were. I suspect this is due to the type of people Roger has subtly encouraged to stay and others which he perhaps has not (see another review re. The 'no vacancies' notice).
There is a lovely open aspect to the site which again we preferred over the hedges between pitches at Cherry Tree. The pitches are also very generous, so there is plenty of space between you and your neighbour. Also, Roger always leaves a number of pitches empty, so the site is never at capacity, again giving you more of a sense of space and peace.
The wash is quite nice, though he is intending to improve it over the next year or 2 I think.
There's a nice walk to the beach which goes on for ages in either direction. All in all, a lovely, peaceful site to which we shall return.

Arrived at the site without booking and saw to my horror a 'Full' sign. However this is left up to give the owners option of turning away undesirables.
We were given a pitch by the owner who was very friendly and helpful.
The site is very roomy and level. It is well maintained and quiet. The shower and toilet facilities are excellent. Not too much around but the beach is only about a mile away. We had a couple of bikes and biked into Mablethorpe along the path/promenade. A really nice ride. Didn't stray too much further afield so can't comment on anywhere else. On the whole this is a lovely site and would definitely return.

This site is perfect for peace and quiet. We have visited several times now and will keep going back. The owners are very friendly and helpful without being over bearing. Showers and toilets are clean and well looked after. The pitches are large and the whole site is very well laid out. It is lovely being an adults only site, peace and quiet reigns but it is near to the beautiful Hutoft beach terrace and Sutton On Sea for shops. In fact it is very near to many towns and villages. Great for exploring. We love it and will keep returning to this well run friendly site. PERFECT

Great site. Nice people who run it, Roger & Frances & family. Site toilets and showers all good.
Nice and quiet, no children running around,or playing football against your caravan. No loud music being played, no tents or groups. Great. You can relax in peace. Beach nearby, shops, garage, not far from Skegness, Sutton on Sea etc.I cant give any objective criticism because there is not any

A great site with generous pitches on hard standing or grass. The shower and toilet facilities are clean and adequate. The wildlife on the site is fantastic. While there for 2 nights we saw many birds and 2 hares which would run the length of the grass in front of our caravan at sundown. Very entertaining. A peaceful campsite with very friendly owners and fellow campers. Will definitely be returning here.

Warm welcome from Roger on arrival.
Choice of very generous pitches.
The site is well maintained - grass in good condition, and mowed frequently - choice of grass or hardstanding pitches.
For dog owners (we have two) - there is an access onto green lanes from the back of the site. Sensible rules for dog owners are in place (on lead on site, etc.)
The site has been considerately developed over a number of years, and Fran and Roger's passion to encourage wildlfe is apparent. Barn Owls, crossbills leverets and some very confident moorhens (pinching dogfood when they got the chance) was evidence of their success.
The site has a good balance of rules for mutual benefit, without being regimental.
The shower / toilet block is cleaned daily, and is adequate, if dated.
Good site, lovely owners

We have stayed at this site several times over a number of years. The owners are always welcoming and helpful and the site has been owned and constantly improved by them for many years.
The pitches are level, mainly on grass and are of a generous size. The grass is cut on a regular basis and the site is a wildlife haven with a fishing lake.
The toilets are not the most luxurious in the world but are perfectly adequate and always clean.
An almost level quiet road, less than a mile long will take you to the sea front. Here is a car parking area and a footpath / cycle path which goes down through Sutton on Sea to Mablethorpe. The village of Huttoft is nearby and can be reached by a small road across the fields and a little further away is the small Market town of Alford.
The fact that this is an adults only site and has the Friday fish and chips van makes this our favourite site.

Just spent a week at this site and it was excellent. The owners where very friendly and it has a good fishing pool on site. The pitch sizes are very large. Toilets and shower block was small but spotless clean. All you can hear from this site is the birds singing. We will be going back again at some time
