Just returned from almost a fortnight's holiday on this site.
Pros. - large size pitches, well kept and neat
- shop on site for emergencies
- 'chippy' on site (if that is a pro.)
- full facilities to suit all needs
- small play area, can be seen from most pitches
- handy location for travelling around the area
Cons. - luke warm to cold water only from about 8.00 a.M
- 11.00 p.M curfew not respected by many vans and nothing done about it
Niggles - showers and loos could do with a deep clean and soap in the loo area (hygiene not penny pinching!)
All in all for the price, a pleasant enough stay, would stay again if I were visiting this part of Cornwall.
There were 2 families (out-laws) with 4 children ranging from 3 - 12 and we all had a lovely time.

Not a great deal to add to the comments already left from previous visitors, but here goes.
Wide open space, we were one of just 3 tents on the site, along with 7 vans. Site has quite a slope, so you will have to be careful how you pitch your tents.
Pitch was ok, plenty of grass, though a bit more sun and rain should see the slightly bare patches spring back into life. Pitches were quite short though, and only just managed to fit our Amazon 600.
Playground is adequate, just a slide and some swings, but it was in clear sight from us, so the kids were able to entertain themselves without a worry.
Toilet block is ok, though I felt it could do with a deep-clean, some of the toilets were 'marked' and I'm not sure if it was just the pattern on the floor, but it looked like it was overdue a wash too.
Fantastic price though, just £10.10 for the four of us inc. Ehu.
Would we visit again? Yep, it does everything we need and at a great price. Why bother paying for all those extras you don't use/need?

Clean, spacious and excellent value for money is the best way to describe this site. We had a mixed bag of weather but every day was enjoyable. My 3 children all had a great week making new friends at the playground which is visible from most pitches. Good location also. Yes the toilet block is basic, but it was clean throughout our stay.
We will be booking again this year.

Site just 2 miles from Looe and 2 miles from Polperro which is an absolutely beautiful quaint fishing village. Slightly slopping site that has sea views. Pitches are a reasonable size although the weekend we arrived was very busy and we felt a bit cramped. Very reasonable fees, we paid £94 for a week with electric, awning and one child. Toilets clean and showers hot. There is an on site shop selling the basics which was handy. If you get a taxi to Looe we recommend that you get a price first because the office arranged a taxi for us and we felt £7 for 2 miles was a bit steep and the taxi driver told us that taxis normally charge £10 so we were getting a bargain but on the way back we picked up a taxi by the harbour and it only cost £5. Central play area for the kids. They also have car boot sales in the next field on a Sunday morning. Overall good site and value for money.

We stayed here for 7 nights from July 25th, probably one of the wettest weeks this summer! Great site, fab views over the coast, we had pitch 27 which was huge, the size of 2 pitches! The shower/toilet block could do with updating, was not the nicest and almost never had hot water. We walked across to use the showers in the static caravan field next door. But for £11 a night (£3.50 per adult, £1.50 for awning and £2.50 for electric.Chldren under 5 free) this site is a bargain, I much preferred it to the site we stayed in in Bude the week before, called Wooda and almost twice the price!

I have a young family and have long been looking for a site such as this. Although the facilities and amenities are very basic, they are maintained to an excellent standard and the site as a whole represents excellent value for money. My family and I live within 20 miles of the site and it makes for a brilliant weekend treat for us just to throw our bits in the boot and go at the last moment. The site itself seems very quiet with plenty of room for the little ones to run around and play games. The location is fantastic being only a five minute drive to either Looe or Polperro as well as the beautiful Talland Bay. A must for any camper(s) who wants to be close enough to the fuss and amusements but far enough away to forget about them when you make your return to the site.

Excellent camping site! We go down to Cornwall 4 to 6 weeks every year and have been since 1970. This is the 1st time we have used this site and what a find! It is a clean, tidy lovely site with all amenities. The showers are a godsend after spending time on working farms. There are plenty of shelves and hooks to hang your towels, clothes etc and loads of room so you don't feel as though you're having a shower in a cupboard. It is fantastic value for money. We shall always use this site now when we stay around Looe and surrounding area. Lovely views from the site and plenty of space.

Really enjoyed our stay, nice quite site at the time we were there, good roomy pitches, lots with electric hook-up.One down side is it gets quite windy especially in the evening.
Would recommend the walk down to Talland Bay, to join the costal path, we walked to polperro. Didn't walk into Looe, as one part of the road didn't have a path, and the road was very narrow and busy.
Toilet block clean enough, could probably do with an update, but ok for the price you pay, which is really cheap.Everything else was spot on.Very frendly owners, the site shop wasn't open as it was low season, so can't comment on that. There is a take away van at the entrance to the site, which seemed very popular.
Would recommend a ride on the Looe to Lisguard railway line, lovely scenery, and only just over a fiver return.
Good Indian restaurant in Looe, very popular, we didn't book, but went early.Lots of other eating places too.
Would also recommend a visit to Trago Mills, near Doublebois, really is a shopping experience, it sells everything you can think of, also has a couple of cafes, we ate in the Avery, and it was very good, and reasonably priced.
Would definitely return to this site.

Went for 4 days during Whitsun the site wasn't overly busy which was nice. Lovely views down the valley to Talland bay, the walk to Talland bay is about 15 minutes there are 2 small beaches separated by cliffs both have cafes and are worth a visit. Nearby is Looe where fishing trips can be booked and has an abundance of different restaurants etc The kids really enjoyed crab fishing from the harbour. Near by are the oldy worldy quaint fishing villages of Polperro and Fowey both worth a visit. The best thing though was the price 9.50 per night with electric for 2 adults and 3 kids aged 5,4 and 1 cant wait to go back in the summer

Wow,what a find.I've been visiting cornwall for over 20 years and sadly driven past this site numerous times and never given a thought to pay it a visit what a pity as I've missed out. I was looking for a camp site that was peaceful as I was holidaying with my wife, 2 year old twins and my mother. If it's peace and tranquillity you're after then this is the site for you. The lady that runs the camping side is very strict on noise and anyone being a nuisance to others is removed from site promptly. About the site. The pitches are very large and well marked out although it was busy we never felt at all claustrophobic plenty of space for all, I have a large 7 man tent Renault Espace car, trailer, 3 wind breaks ,sun canopy and all fitted on pitch with room to spare. The shop is well stocked and reasonably priced, there is a takeaway available in the evenings also well priced. The toilet/showers were spotless and free. The site has a slight slope but not enough to worry about, when booking in I asked for a flat pitch and the lady said everyone asks the same. I found no pitches are any better than any other, just accept what you. The views are lovely looking out to the see and Looe island. There is a play area for kids not fantastic but kept the twins happy. Looe is a short drive away as is the lovely village Polpero and the animal park at Porfell is certainly worth a visit, one of the keepers allowed my 2 year olds to stroke a Coati their first encounter with an animal other than a cat or dog and made there day. Trago mills a half hour drive away is worth a visit for bargain shopping it sells almost everything you can think of. Cost to camp, I paid £13.50 per night for 3 adults 2 kids and electricity hook up.
