This was our 3rd visit. We live only 20 miles away and have enjoyed good weekend camping. This year we stayed over the Easter weekend and the weather was awful.

The surrounding trees had been pollarded which meant little protection for the tent. In June they had begun to grow, but as this site can be a very windy one it doesn't provide much shelter at the moment.

Although our tent did withstand winds of up to 40 mph! (The 2nd field is surrounded by a large grass bank which helps protect the tents). The wardens/owners were very helpful to those campers having difficulties and even handed out extra blankets to shivering campers, whilst putting some families in their new 'Glamping Huts'.

The toilet/shower block is always clean although if someone is washing up the shower can run cold during peak times! The water pressure is poor and could do with better shower heads.

There is an extra toilet and shower in the barn and this is much better. The pitches are large and well spaced out around the perimeter, with the 1st field being EHU.

A dog walk surrounds the outside of the campsite with access from the 2nd field. Ball games and such can be played in the centre of the two very large fields though some kind of children's playground would be an advantage.

We plan another visit shortly as its convenient but enjoyable. Shops are situated about a 5min drive but there is a cafe on site which is open daily.

Once again an amazing stay at this site. First time with electric hook up.

Praise has to be given to everyone who works on and runs this site, the toilets and showers are always immaculate! Also the facilities where washing up is done is kept clean. The lady doing the cleaning was in and out all day long!

Everyone on the site is very friendly. We have two children one age 11 and one 3, the site has a quiet time from 11pm and is just perfect!

We have already booked to go back in July, can't wait!

It is perfect for walkers, bike riders or car drivers. Very close to Dimchurch railway, a short car drive. Close to Ashford for anything needed.

Only problem this time is we didn't have the weather but that not Romney Farms fault. Many thanks again to you all.

Look forward to seeing you in a few weeks.

 Nice site.

Consists of two large fields, both flat and well kept grass areas.

The toilet block was clean and tidy, if only a little dated.

There are only two showers and two toilets each block (mens and ladies).

The showers are push button type and the water only lasts 30 seconds. Some string was tied round one in the gents making the shower stay on. Very handy.

One of the ladies toilets was blocked and out of use leaving only one toilet for the entire site.

The biggest downside for us was the on site cafe.

It had been highly recommended and was one of the reasons we booked.

It is currently closed as the owner 'cant be bothered anymore' (her words).

It also is never going to be opened again.

It could also do with a kids play area, there is certainly the space.

Was it a good site - Yes

Would I go back - Maybe

Just come back from a 3 night stay.

Location is ok there is a small town a few minutes drive away with a Sainsbury’s and a spar etc.

Good points

The staff are very friendly

Nice hut with microwave and fridges

Electric barrier

Bad points

May well be on top of a nuke bunker or an air field as there is only 2' of soil then rock. Bent over 10 metal pegs and snapped or bent all my plastic pegs. We also had one of our canopy poles snap because the guy pegs came out of the thin layer of soil in the wind.

Only 2 showers per sex and you only get a dribble of water plus every one kept leaving the door open so was very cold in there plus there is no where to clean young kids.

Washing area is very exposed as all my stuff kept blowing away when washing.

The whole of the site is very exposed.

No play area for kids.

I don’t think we will stay here again we did use this site a few years ago and lost are tent then as well. We did not find out it was the same site till after we booked and the site still has all the same problems

Have stayed here several times, all staff very friendly and polite, full of knowledge of local area, we didn't use the cafe, so cannot comment! Other reviewers have complained about no play area!

The central part of the camping field is left clear so kids can play football, ball games and generally run about. So play area not needed!

Have never had any problems securing tent with pegs, do need more toilets and shower blocks, but the ones they have are always clean.

Hut with fridge, microwave and freezer is a great idea and current freezer is better than the one I have in my kitchen!

Not far from Lydd/New Romney for pubs or camber for beaches, excellent local fish n chip shops nearby ( try the Pilot Inn WOW )

Good sea fishing off Dungeness too!

We have just returned from our second visit to this site!

It is a perfect site for the family who want to do their own thing! The non-electric hook up fields layout has been changed and the pitches are bigger, which suited us as we used our 8 Man tent for the first time!

We seem to choose the times when there are fewer people camping and that is perfect for our family set up! The people who run the site are very friendly and as people who have only camped twice this was just what we wanted.

Camber Sands and Romney Sands offer two perfect days out. We preferred Romney Sands and would recommend a look as it is a much quieter quaint little stretch of sand.

The breakfast as last year was outstanding and if it is the one purchase of your stay YOU MUST TRY IT!

We are already looking at our next trips and Romney Farm is going to be on the list!

Thanks to all the staff who keep the site perfect, clean and a pleasure to stay at!

Great, friendly, and small site (our preferred type of site).

Was very quiet in the evening on camp, though there was a bit of traffic noise, in the distance.

Plenty of opportunities for walking, and access to take the dog out for a shorter walk early morning, and late at night.

It was great to have the opportunity to put items in the communal fridges (there's 2) and even though the site was full, there was space in these.

Only 2 ladies showers, so there tended to be a queues in the morning. And although the showers were lovely and warm the water cut out very frequently which was frustrating, I would say every 15 seconds or so, it wasn't very long (which results in it taking longer to shower!).

All communal areas were very clean, and well maintained. Very friendly site owners.

Others have mentioned that it was windy and it was, however we bought a wind break on the 2nd day and this made a huge difference. (To be honest we were camping in an open field near the New Forest the previous weekend and had the same problem with wind).

We drove (not far) to a different beach every day, which the children loved. Dungeness beach is stony but full of shells and fishermen, St Mary's Bay - quiet and sandy, great little bays for the children, and Camber Sands which of course is endless amounts of sand, but much more commercial.

We had visitors for a BBQ on the sat evening and this was no problem.

Great site, great location, would definitely visit again, in fact we tried to immediately rebook, but they were already full for the weekend we wanted.

We have just come back from spending 3 nights at Romney Farm. The site is clean and tidy. The staff very friendly. I like the way all tents, caravans etc are round the field leaving the middle free and open, so we were not to close to each other.

The pitch was a good size. The toilets and showers were clean and well kept. As we had our dog with us it was disappointing to see that there were not many beaches to take him on and ones that we could, we could not park due to the car parks being closed.

Being that there are sheep everywhere it was hard to find somewhere for the dog to run of the lead.

There was a field opposite the campsite which was the only walk we found we could do this. But on the whole had a lovely time.

We were there bank holiday weekend and I found the facilities totally lacking for the amount of people they allow on the site.

There were no where near enough showers per quantity of people on the site. There was no water pressure in the showers and they were only luke warm.

After having to queue for my first tepid dribble, I gave up and used the shower in the camper. The sizes of the pitches on the hook up site were only standard as per other sites we had visited over our 2 week stay in the UK.

Overall not a site we would use again while we are waiting to cross the channel home.

Just come back from our first camping trip ever. So was not too sure what to expect, but had a brilliant 3 days and 3 nights at Romney farm, made even better with 3 days of pure sunshine and not a drop of rain! Yay.

Owners were friendly and helpful and we had one of the best pitches on the site with lots of room.

Really nicely laid out, first field is for elecric hook up and second field without (brave people) Helpful things laid on free of charge was use of a microwave, fridge freezer and BBQ's which you could take to your pitch.

The toilets and showers were clean although one was out of order so slight wait during busy times. Cafe on site which we heard was great but didn't get time to use.

Lovely walks directly out the back of the top field and local beaches and shops not more than a few minuets in the car. All in all, clean and well maintained and trouble free camping - would def return again
