 This was our first visit to a large commercial site. We picked the site due to convenient location and facilities available. However were slightly disappointed with what was included considering the price paid. We booked a comfort extra 10mX10m pitch including ehu and it was €360 for 7 nights. I mistakenly assumed this also included 2 hours use of the tikibad swimming pool per day but that is a paid for additional €3.50 per person for 2 hours entry. However our package did include free entry to the amusement park.
Considering the facilities we had enjoyed at Blaarmeersen in Belgium at only €96 for 6 nights to pay €360 for 7 nights at Duinrell just wasn't justified. We didn't however use the children activities as my oldest daughter at 5 only just qualified for some of them and we didn't want to leave out the 3 yr old. Also a lot of the rides in the park had minimum 1m 20cm height requirement meaning the kids couldn't go on those either.
The shop on site was well stocked but again had a premium applied.
There were hundreds of camping pitches sharing very large toilet units which didn't have the basics like hand soap provided. The cleaners used large spray guns to spray the toilets with chemicals to clean them which left all the surfaces wet after they had visited them.
The highlight was the Tikibad which was really good but didn't make up for the other bad points. And the very small changing rooms made it impractical to get the children changed. The family changing room seemed locked whenever we tried it.
There was also a local festival on for the last 4 nights so music was blaring out until the early hours but the free fireworks were good on the first night.
Inconsiderate campers had also left about 6 tent pegs scattered across our pitch so I ended up crawling under the groundsheet with the tent pitched when my wife noticed one sticking up in the middle of the tent luckily no damage to the ZIG groundsheet.
We found the pitch otherwise to be large and well positioned and would recommend any of the pitches on LV001 -> LV012 as they are close enough to toilet blocks and are larger and not as tightly packed than any of the other fields we saw. The only down side to that field was that it was sandy so you did end up with kids getting covered in sand and mud.
I think the site would suit kids 9-teens that could go off and use the park on their own and go to the swimming pool etc and make more use of the children's activities.

This was my first holiday abroad with my family, We booked a frame tent with keycamp which was extremly roomy for a family of 4.
This has all the mod cons supplied, electric, lights, fridge and cooker. The beds are far more comfy than an inflatable.
The site was joined to a theme park and this was free to campers of the park, this was an amazing site with lots of good rides for adults and children, there is also the largest water park in europe there which is free for 2hrs for campers.
The site hire bikes with tows available for younger kids to tag along. The bike ride routes are available and were very easy to complete, passing canals and windmills.
The cost of this holiday was only £128 and the ferry crossing with car worked out at £280 so for a 10 day adventure for less that £450 was well worth the moeny.
Will definitely go back and recommed.

We stayed here and loved everything about it. Travelling from Scotland we drove to Newcastle and took the overnight ferry to Amsterdam, within an hour of disembarking we were on our pitch putting up our tent. Two adults and 2 children (10 & 11). Stayed on pitch LV01, would recommend any of the pitches Lv01 - LV12 as they are spacious, and quite private. Some of the other pitches can end up 3 deep with access fairly difficult.
The toilet block was clean and spacious, you could plug in hairdryers etc. Never a problem with showers or water, always plenty of hot water available. There were also washing machine and tumble drying facilities in the toilet blocks, readily available.
We found the staff on site very pleasant, the reception staff, and everyone we spoke to all spoke English. The site is very large and can take a while to orientate yourself, sometime we took the 'scenic' route around the place. The children got the hang of it fairly quickly. Recommend taking walkie talkies, our children being older were happy to head into the funpark themselves every morning to take advantage of the small queues first thing and ride the same ride again, again and again. The staff allowed them to stay on the rides when there was no one in the queue, which they loved. We stayed the first 2 weeks of July. Which were the last couple of weeks of the Dutch school term, so the last week there were hoards of school parties, which would arrive about 11 and leave about 3pm, but making the park very busy during that time. When we were there the rides were open 10 - 5pm.
Our camping package included 2 hours swim per day in the tikiibad, which we took full advantage of. We tried the pool at various times of day, but it was always busy. We enjoyed visiting it most in the evening, about 8pm till closing at 10pm. Also meant the kids were clean! There can be times when we had to queue to get into the pool, especially when busy, the longest was about 30 mins, as people coming into the park for the day would often use the pool once the rides closed at 5pm, so that's a time to avoid. There was an outside pool, that if the weather was good would also be open, and was general very quiet as I think people preferred the fun of the indoor pool with its slides etc. Look on the website for details of the inside pool, it was fun, yet terrifying, some of the slides were very fast, kids loved them all!
There is a huge playpark in front of the Tikkibad, again lots of different things for the kids to play on, all those things we liked to play on as kids but have long since been removed from our parks such as witches hat and real roundabouts! The playpark is covered in sand, which the kids managed to get covered in, everywhere, have to shake them off before coming into the tent. There are trails through the surrounding woods which we enjoyed using and various activities along the way such as different exercise things. There is also a high ropes area, bit like the ones at centreparcs, which cost approx 20 euros to use, we kept saying we would go then found other things to keep us entertained. We hire bikes and go carts, which were great fun, the best thing about the go carts is when the fun park is closed and you can wander around the closed ride, and up and down the ramps on the go carts, great fun!, during the day no bikes or go carts are allowed in the park area. Its quite spooky wandering around the park when everyone has gone home. Next year we are taking our own bikes, as peddling backward to brake takes some getting used to, my husband run into a bush as he couldn't stop! Taking the bikes off sight is great, as they are so geared up for cyclist as you have your own path and set of traffic lights. So flat even I was ok cycling down to the beach a couple of kilometres. The nearby beach was huge and well serviced for food and bars etc. Parking there can be pricey, when you can find a space. Can be windy though and see if well, rather on the chilly side!
The shop on site is well stocked but somewhat pricey, handy for the off thing but wouldn't do all my shopping there. In the local town there is an expensive supermarket and the otherside of the main road is an Aldi, great, a lot cheaper than anywhere else we found, we would stock up on cheap wine and beer, and food.
There are activities run by the campsite, my son did the organised football which he enjoyed, to be honest we didn't take full advantage of all the activities as we didn't have time, they are free too. We took days trips to Gouda for the cheese market, which I would recommend, a trip to Delft, very pretty and a trip into Amsterdam. We parked at the Olympic stadium and for 6 euros for the whole day, includes a tram ticket into the city centre for 4, cheapest parking you'll find. We found parking at any town a nightmare and very expensive if you could find somewhere to park, they don't encourage cars anywhere.
All in all recommend and we are going back this year, asked the children were they wanted to go and they in unison said Duinrell!

We stopped for a week but left after 6nights. We used it as a base for sightseeing. We did not really rate the site- no water on the pitches, no waste - only 6 amps but this is common in Holland- ok you have the water park and amusements but for us when you have done them that's it. There is an Irish bar but they had no Guinness or Murphys as waiting for a delivery. Ran out of dry white wine too.

We visit this site for 3 nights at the end of our holidays. We pre booked through one of the camping clubs and saved quite a bit money, it cost about £130 for 2 adults and 3 kids. This site includes pitch and free admission to the amusement park during your stay and reduced price (about 3.50 euros for 2 hrs per person) to the water park all within the price. The pitch we had was of good size and had shared water points. The toilet block was of a good standard and included the wash up area and launderette all enclosed inside. There was not much night time entertainment when we were there, we visited the Irish pub on site and found it very expensive. The supermarket on site is excellent and has a very good range of products a bit pricey, but okay for campsite prices. There is a cafe/take away did not buy anything so can not comment on the food but the prices looked okay.
The amusement park was not as big as we have been to in the UK but was okay (I would be disappointed if I had paid the daily admission charge for our family as I did not feel it was worth the large amount of money they were asking)but as part of the camping fees it was okay, there are a quite a few rides for all ages and kept our 3 kids and our selves amused over the 3 days, but that was long enough. The water park was also very good, not many slides for the younger children but it was okay for the 2 hours which was long enough for me. There is a large children's park just inside the entrance of the amusement park which you can use even when the park itself is closed. We enjoyed are visit here but probably would not go back as we were returning on the ferry from Amsterdam to Newcastle (very expensive) not our usual Calais to Dover and its a bit far to go just to use the park, but if your passing the area its worth a visit especially if you have kids.
