For:-
Beautifully maintained site
Very Clean Toilets and Shower facilities
Pub (under new ownership) 5 minutes walk - Beer kept well, didn't have food there, as menu choice not to my liking (sausage & mash, shank of lamb etc. Not real chips. ) They allowed kids in - even crying youngsters!
'Wild about Birds' - a pet/bird shop two minutes walk for milk/teabags and chocolate etc.
A few good pubs with good food in 2-3 miles - try the White Horse at Westerham(2 miles) or Eels Foot Inn at Eastbridge(2miles) or if you are rich, then its the Bell at Saxmundan(4 miles) or Fish & Chips at Aldeburgh (6 miles)
Saxmundan has large Tesco and Waitrose and Costa- but better still a back street breakfast café real VFM
AGAINST
MAIN ST (Theberton) is 30 miles an hour, but everyone does at least 50. Are there any police in Suffolk? The road is so busy and noisy - it never stops but gets worse at peak times. And there is no pavement between the campsite and pub! Walk behind the hedge opposite 'wild about birds' and through the churchyard and you may get to the pub alive.
Pigeons. The Cooing is unbelievable, from sunrise to sunset - I think 'wild about Birds' either feed them or keep them. It's alright if you live in a double glazed house but in a tent or campervan you definitely need earplugs.
Why is PIGEON PIE not on any of the pub menus?

Minsmere 3 miles (Spring Nature Watch) Aldeburgh famous fish & chips.

This is a nice new site. Owners are very nice. It was very clean when we arrived but as the site got full. It was not maintained.
There is 1 toilet and 1 shower per gender which is a shame as the camp had quite a few tents and camper vans. So toilet roll was limited.
The lack of security was a worry as there's no one in residence.
But nice if you use your own facilities in your van.

As has been mentioned, this is a lovely clean site with modern facilities. It has 20 pitches and in my view a few on the small size. We arrived with no one around but was advised to ring the number displayed in the caravan/office. Unfortunately we couldn't get a signal but luckily the friendly owner suddenly arrived to explain what's what.
Lots to do and see around the area.
The beach was around a mile away with lovely walks. The cafe against the beach had won some awards but we didn't eat there. Modern toilets against the cafe. In Leiston there was a huge coop for groceries Etc. The first couple of days we were there only 2 vans were on site and over the Easter weekend there was just 6 pitches taken, unbelievable for Easter?
I feel a little mean not giving 10 stars but there were a few things that I was concerned about, mainly security. As the owners live a mile down the road, (which isn't a problem) I thought there might have been an electronic barrier In use? My concerns were raised when on the second morning there was some 'travellers' drove onto the site, sat there for a few seconds and drove off. This was also a concern for a fellow camper who also saw them. At that point there were only two of us on the site and with both of us out during the day and nobody else around, it could have been easy for anyone to break into the vans without being disturbed.
There is a pub down the road about 10 mins walk (the Lion I think?) if you're thinking of eating there then my advice is to give it a miss unless you like everything microwaved. The microwave was pinging 10 to the dozen! I had kebabs and it was awful, rock hard.

Management response: regarding travellers driving on to Sycamore Park we would just like to point out that their have never had any issues with travellers on our site, on the day in question, the vehicle seen driving around the site was mine, I drive around regularly for security and to check the condition of the grass etc. I now have Sycamore Park logos on my truck to avoid any further confusion.
In regards to security, we do not live on site, however, we work very closely with our neighbour who lives next to the entrance and helps us to run the site and keeps an eye on things when we are not there.
The local pub The Lion Inn is now under new ownership.

We have just spent 3 nights at this site, which is close to many beautiful beaches and lovely walks. The site is new and although it was Easter weekend there were only a handful of caravans and motorhomes. I suspect next year it will be fully booked! The pitches are spacious. The owners have planted shrubs which, when fully grown, will provide even more privacy. The toilets and showers are very modern with under floor heating. There are a few pubs within walking distance. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back to this site.

Stayed for 4 nights at Sycamore Park during March when other sites in the area are not yet open.
This site was only completed in 2013, with all new toilet and shower facilities, plus convenient dishwashing sinks.
Beautifully peaceful, the pitches are of a good size for tourers, and have been neatly planted with surrounding shrubs which will come on well during this first full year. Good, thick grass.
Good location for the surrounding cycling routes. Minsmere RSPB, Dunwich Heath, Warbleswick to the north; Aldeburgh and the lovely ride to Snape Maltings and Orford Ness to the south.

Sycamore Park is a lovely campsite, well planned with spacious pitches, and special little areas, picnic etc. The immaculate toilet and shower facilities, are very modern, spotless and warm, remember this was January. The owner is welcoming, friendly and very helpful.
Nice pub five minute walk away, lots of things to do and see in the area, Aldeburgh, Southwold, and Thorpness and Dunwich for wildlife and dog walks. Nearest beach five minutes drive away also Leiston for takaways, supplies, and a cinema a short drive away.
We will be back.

We stayed here for 3 nights in January. The weather was not good (country wide) but the site was very well drained and we experienced no problem getting on or off the pitch. The owner was very welcoming and friendly as was his grounds man. The toilet and shower facilities were awesome, the best we have ever been in beautifully clean with under-floor heating, so welcome on a cold morning! Lovely picnic area for the warmer weather. Local pub within 5 minutes walk, no shops, but not really required. Very close to Aldeburgh and Southwold.
All together, a lovely quiet spot with a lovely Church and local walks. Definitely recommended for a stay away from the hustle and bustle of life.
