Stayed for 2 nights on our way back home from 2 weeks in Dorset. A little hard to fined ( sign post for village missing !)was met by the friendly owner who helped moved caravan on to the pitch
A lovely small peaceful site, toilets/showers and washing up area very clean.
Would return again if in the area

Very new campsite, so toilets and showers clean and lovely. Only 2 toilets and 2 showers, but the site is small. Nice feel to it with trees and wild areas. Owners very welcoming and friendly. They have a beautiful vision of allowing wildlife and people to live together. There is a bat roost there which they have left and respected. There is a small cabin area with a table and chairs, where you can sit and play cards. There are books about Wiltshire and Somerset for you to browse through. The hobbit cabins look fabulous and there is also a shepherd's hut you can hire. Pitches a bit lumpy and bumpy, and site slightly more expensive than other campsites but it was worth the money.

We stayed at the site for two nights to celebrate a friends 40th Birthday. We booked and stayed in the new Shepherds hut, wow! absolutely delighted. The hut was well designed and clean and tidy, essentials were provided. The free wifi was not available as it had not yet been installed which meant a trip out to find a wifi hotspot as my partner had to do some work over the weekend. This did not really cause a problem in the overall picture of things though. The couple that run the site are really welcoming and we loved the peaceful area with its delightful wildlife. The site is new as are the facilities. Absolutley wonderful weekend away and we will be returning again soon. Had the remaining facilities been available as advertised (TV, DVD and wireless) I would have given the site a 10/10 rating.

Just back from a wonderful 4 night stay at this lovely campsite. Great for people who prefer the smaller more intimate site. All facilities are clean and functional. Set in beautiful surroundings very quiet but close to the lovely city of Bath and Bradford upon Avon where there are plenty of shops and great places to eat.

Our best site yet. We were meeting friends in Bath for a reunion and decided to stay nearby for a few days. What an idyllic site. The grass pitch was level and very large - plenty of space for our motorhome and awning with room to spare - it reminded us of a French site with hedges all around
And immaculate yet simple facilities.
We were shown the shepherd's hut and the pods by the owners and we would recommend these to friends who prefer not to camp. They are again immaculate with all you would need for a cosy break.
We took our bikes and cycled to Bradford on Avon for lunch. We followed cycle paths most of the way through farmland and a golf course and avoided main roads. The ride to Bradford on Avon was downhill most of the way, which meant a lot of hills on the way back to the campsite, but we took our time and chatted to local people on the way. We will return!

We had a wonderful weekend with friends in this fabulous campsite. The layout of the site, with pitches tucked away in clearings and under trees, creates a relaxed, back-to-nature feeling. Our pitches were pretty level although the ground was rather lumpy and bumpy, but once we had put up our tents we didn't notice the bumps. Stinging nettles in the mown grass were more of an issue, especially when we were wearing flip-flops.
The Blackberries is situated at the top of a hill in beautiful, peaceful countryside. The lack of light pollution reveals fantastic starry skies on clear nights. Despite its elevated location, the site does not have views over the surrounding countryside because of all the trees and hedges nearby, but a short (10-15 minute) walk from the campsite leads through a wood to a folly with excellent views over Bath.
The owner, Adrian, was very friendly and welcoming. He gave us pitches among the trees at the far end of the campsite, which were only a couple of minutes from the toilet block but felt like a private field. He brought us a fire basket and barbecue grill and invited us to collect sticks from the wooded areas of the site for fuel. There were plenty of small branches around but we also bought a sack of larger logs from him for £3.
The toilet facilities (1 toilet and 1 shower for men, and the same for women) were always clean and the shower was always warm. The two outside sinks were also clean and well-designed. This is a small site (about 10 units) so there was rarely a need to wait for the loo or shower, but it would be a problem if everyone decided to get up at the same time! However, Adrian is thinking of building a second toilet block (and increasing the number of pitches).
In the evenings the musically-inclined gathered around a large campfire and sang or played instruments. We were invited to join in but chose to toast marshmallows and tell spooky stories at our own fire instead. It was lovely to hear the (quiet) music in the background though.
Just across the little country road from The Blackberries is a large recreation ground with a zip wire, a wooden climbing frame and plenty of space for ball games. This was ideal for our teenagers to wander off to, and perfect for family games of rounders. The nearby village of Monkton Farleigh (10 minutes' walk) has a great foodie pub (The Muddy Duck) and a small shop and post office. We also drove to the lovely town of Bradford on Avon, where a large Budgen provided everything we needed for our barbecue.
I would recommend The Blackberries wholeheartedly for a peaceful, relaxing weekend. We can't wait to go back!

Just returned from an enjoyable week at Blackberries although the weather wasn't great we had some nice trips out into Bath only about 10 min drive. Visited Lacock and Bradford on Avon too. Had breakfast at Lock Inn on canal then walked along canal watching barges, very pretty. Old tithe barn along path too.
About the campsite. Our pitch was large but unfortunately very muddy and as the week went by it got muddier. The showers were cold! Had to use caravan shower which was piping hot. Agree with other comment that more toilets/showers needed. And hot water too. No Wi-Fi as advertised.
Nice little park just across road and down the path, had great fun on zip wire!
Owners were lovely and friendly. Nice peaceful woodland site.

Myself and my partner spent the night in one of the wooden pods that this site has on offer and have to say we were incredibly happy with the place. The pod itself was spacious, warm and was kitted out with all of the essentials such as a fridge, kettle and toaster. The surrounding area is beautiful, with a great country pub a 10 minute walk away with a great selection of food and drinks.
The owners were great, making sure we had a log burner for the evening and even bringing us marshmallows and skewers to toast them!
I highly recommend this campsite in its gorgeous location, the owners are incredibly helpful (and lovely!) and the pods themselves give extra comfort whilst still having a campsite experience.
Thanks for a great half term break!

Pretty campsite, in a good location. Very friendly and helpful owners.
However, the pitches are very lumpy and uncomfortable, definitely not good for more than couple of nights.
The toilet facilities are inadequate for the number of people being packed onto site (one ladies and one men's) Dread to think what would happen if anyone got ill!
Also, long wait for luke warm showers (again only two for whole site) that have lights that keep turning off.
Either need to increase facilities or reduce number of visitors.
Also, site a bit too relaxed on dogs off leads for my liking, as dangerous with open fires/ tents.
Doesn't appear to have play area for children, hence football's flying past tents/ fires also!
This said is worth a visit as in lovely area, just avoid high season!

We just loved this site. Sad we only had a weekend but having just discovered Wiltshire we intend to revisit often and look forward to making this site our base. Very close to Bath and other lovely places, yet feels miles away from civilization. Gorgeous walks, and having the chickens on site was great fun.
Friendly owners, beautiful site, excellent and awesomely clean facilities. Really cannot praise this site enough. Just lovely. There has obviously been a lot of forethought and planning to make this site what it is. We have been campers for nearly 30 years and this is our favourite site so far.
