We stayed here for 3 nights, What a gem, a wonderful campsite, HUGE pitches set in orchards, the biggest we have seen so far, immaculate toilets and showers, very friendly hosts, we felt very much at home staying here, we were made to feel very welcome, the local shop was only a 5 minutes walk away and the prices was very reasonable. We didn`t try the local pub or butchers but we will next time.
We went to broadstairs (viking bay) which is only about a 30 minutes drive away, lovely beach, and had fish and chips from the high street (star of the sea chip shop) and walked to the beach to eat it, best fish and chips we have had in a long time.
Wingham wildlife park was a great day out too, only about 3 miles away from the campsite.
We are looking forward to camping at hatchers farm again, for longer next time.

My husband and I visited Hatcher's Farm with friends of ours for a weekend. The site is beauitful, very picturesque camping amongst the cherry orchard. The cherries are coming into season and it was an added bonus to be able to pick them straight from the tree.
It was really easy to book via email and John who run's the site was incredibly friendly and helpful. The site has one communal block with two toilets, two showers and two washing up points. They also have electric and usb phone charging points. The communal facilities were very clean, some of the best I've seen and whilst not the most powerful of showers there was always hot water.
The farm is at the edge of a village making it a short walk to the local farm shop, butchers and pub. We didn't go to the pub but I can vouch for the butchers, in particular their mint marinaded chicken legs.
A simple camepsite perfect if you're content to spend an evening sat around an open fire.

Absolutely fantastic campsite on a farm with very large pitches set in orchards - the trees separating the pitches gave some privacy and allowed parking next to your tent. On arrival we were greeted by the owners, shown our pitch and offered a fire pit and logs (which we took). The facilities - two very good showers with hot water, two toilets and a urinal for men, two washing up sinks with hot water and a fridge freezer - looked brand new and were kept spotless throughout the weekend. The owners were lovely, gave great advice on what to see and even gave us a bunch of freshly-picked carrots on our last day!
Over the weekend we: visited Margate and thoroughly enjoyed the Turner Contemporary (although it may not be to everyone's taste); had a great morning in Whitstable / Tankerton Beach, followed a superb roast at The Tyler's Kiln pub a couple of miles away and then a walk round Canterbury Cathedral; went on a very nice walk from Broadstairs to Joss Bay, explored Sandwich and then Richborough Roman Fort & Amphitheatre. All of which were only 20-30 mins drive away.
Also had a very good pints at the village pub which was two minutes walk from the campsite. Unfortunately we didn't make it to the local butchers but plan to next time. There's also a garden centre next door but we didn't go there either. Overall we'd highly recommend Hatchers Farm for exploring East Kent!

Wow.
Absolutely fantastic is as previous reviews say. Brand new toilets, brilliant owners, fantastic camping in fantastic grounds between trees very peaceful and within 2 minutes of pub but did not use, fire pits and wood to purchase very cheap. Fridge freezer to use and usb points, washing up facilities with liquid and cloths plus much more. If your happy to not have ehu then this farm is a must.
Many thanks for a wonderful stay and will be back soon.
Russell.

We have just spent May Bank holiday at Hatchers Farm. What a lovely campsite. We were in amongst the cherry trees which were in full blossom. The owners have gone to great length with the site. Toilets and showers are brand new and spotless Campfires at night and dawn chorus of birds in the morning. We will be back again. Also lovely pub 50 yards away. Marc Sharon and Frankie

Summary:
This relatively new campsite is great and, if properly signposted in the near future, will likely attract more visitors in the next seasons. Pitches: very large, comfortable and well kept; staff: always available in the form of the camping owners; facilities: meticulously clean and always hot water, plenty of plugin points and a fridge available. The rating of 10/10 is not overdoing it.
Site:
If you plan to travel from Calais to Dover and are looking for a first place to explore the coastlines of Kent, then look no further. This camp site is literally on a farm, in fact you pitch your tent on a typical Kentish orchard and each family/group gets one lane to pitch on, keep their car and play football or other games. The owners are farmers who a. O. Grow plums and cherries. They provide these for free within their season and also offer other vegetables for sale. There are some chicken at the facilities area, which were very popular with our 1 and 3 year old children, whilst we were washing the dishes.
Surroundings:
This site is very close to all Kent coast lines and close to some surprisingly nice towns. Of course Canterbury (about 30 minutes drive) but also Sandwich is very close by (about 20 minutes by car). Sandwich is a very nice town to visit during one or two days and do a city walk.
Staff: John and his wife are very pleasant people and are really interested in their guests. What I liked is that the owners were more or less always around during day time, so that you can ask questions, directions, anything that comes up at anytime of the day.
Facilities: These are kept meticulously clean and the shower is perfect! Always hot water! Only the sink usually did not have hot water for some reason, but this didn't really bother us. The capacity as yet is ok (only one shower and toilet) but my feeling is that they should expand once the camp site becomes more known. During the weekend days we experienced some queues but nothing really bothersome.
Pros compared to other sites:
- you can eat as many of the in season fruits as you can (July: cherries, August: plums, we even got a whole box of plums to carry home! Made excellent plum pies!).
- Extremely pleasant owners, always available.
- On-farm chickens, nice attraction for small children
- Veggies for sale on the farm
- perfect location to visit all coast lines, as well as canterbury, all within 30 minutes.
Cons:
- somewhat expensive, although nothing extraordinary: about 20% more expensive compared to our other camp sites during these holidays
- only one shower/toilet/washing sink. Note that this is not a problem at this moment yet as the camp site is not very well known yet. Some queues may occur during weekends but nothing to worry about.
- during our visit, there was a family with a dog that ran loose all the time. Apparently this is allowed, but if you have small children, this may not be ideal.

Hatchers Farm is a hidden gem! I don't want the word to spread out too far and wide as the character of this lovely little site is partly due to its low-key location. I had a really relaxed stay on a quiet and peaceful site. Fantastic pitches, generous sized amongst the orchard tree rows. I was even invited to help myself to plums by the very friendly owner (John). For someone who enjoys no-frills camping, having the use of a fridge/freezer on site was a special bonus and much appreciated. The facilities were good an modern, though it's only a small site.
If it becomes too popular they will need to expand from the one loo and shower, but for the small number of people on site at the time there was no problem.
The site is well situated close to Canterbury, with easy access to the coast north, east and south, and right on the doorstep of Stodmarsh National Nature Reserve.
Highly recommended!

We received a warm and relaxed welcome and were directed to pitch where we liked, John was super friendly and walked us around and pointed out the facilities and directed us to help ourselves to cherries (how could we not!) We pitched in an 'avenue' between the cheery trees, the pitches are big enough for a few tents and cars if you want to camp with friends or there is enough space at the site for an avenue to yourself if you prefer - no need to turn up early or fight for a pitch - best layout we have seen and all were nice and level with cherry or plum trees to separate you from your neighbours.
Toilet and shower were simple and immaculate, occasionally had to wait a moment but it gives you chance to watch the chickens. Shared fridge and a couple of charging sockets are a great addition.
The village is worth a visit, great butchers, little shop for anything you have forgot and more and a great little pub serving decent, reasonable grub and nice beer, all within a 2 min walk.
Highly recommended

Fantastic site inbetween the cherry and plum trees. Farmer was friendly. The toilet and shower were really clean, the site was clean and tidy. We had a firepit and was given wood for it too and allowed a bbq. There is water tap available on each site and cars parked by tents was a bonus. It was really peaceful and we were offered fruit of the trees too. The only downside is the entrance is not well signposted when coming from plucks gutter way.

A new camp site. Toilet and shower new and clean. Camp between cheery trees or the next field witch is another orchard. Very large pitches 40x10 meters. I stayed for 7 nights, one of the best site's I have been to. Both of owners are very friendly and helpful. Very good tv reception. A visit to Canterbury is a must a wonderful city. Had holy communion at the cathedral 11 'o'clock on sunday. No charge. There is a village shop you can get most things there, this shop was built in 1700. A charming young girl will serve you. Go and enjoy.
