Booked a 2 night stay as we had visited the village the previous year and saw the park under construction. The park was very busy due to being summer holidays with lots of families which we expected. The warden showed us to our Silver pitch and explained the facilities. We thought the site was very clean and well looked after but the road around the site was tight as there were a lot of parked cars due to being so busy. We had 1 or 2 children playing and running across the back of our pitch on the Saturday which we didn't like but a lot of the families left on Sunday and it was like a different site. All told its a very clean site that seemed well run and suited more to families than couples.

We had a one night stopover as visiting the Blakemere Village. First impressions all very good - its well set out, far enough away from the road that we heard very little traffic noise.
The facilities are new and immaculate, piping hot showers and the loos / showers resemble a hotel facility.
The wardens are without a doubt a major asset to the site, very friendly, helpful and willing to chat and assist.
Blakemere Village is good for a couple of hours walk around, the cafe and bar are only open during the daytime except for the odd special events. Plenty to occupy children with adventure trails etc as well as the small playpark on the site.
There were plenty of children on site with it being the summer holidays but we didn't find it any noisier than other sites. There is a ball game area so children can use this without playing near pitches and most seemed to do so.
Mid summer the rate was high at £26 but for the investment the site has made its probably far, lower season rates are £18 with ehu, tv hook up etc.
With Delamere Forest a stone throw away, Chester a short drive many other attractions near by its a great site for visiting the area and we will use again.

We have just returned from a weekend campng trip at Blakemere, and from booking to leaving, Pam and Dave were so helpful, very responsive to emails and then showing us to our pitch once we arrived.
Campsite is really nice, my only gripe, is that I thought the tents were a bit too close to one another. , but it is a family site so kids all played well, and it was a really nice atmosphere.
There is a little kiddies play area, slide swings and sand, which was a big hit with our own DS aged 6. The dish wash area and food prep area are right next to it.
There is also washing machines, ( dryers, I think!) for which there is an extra charge, hubby also said there were freezers for ice packs. We didn't use any of theses as we were only there for weekend
The toilets, as has been said before are fab, lovely and clean.
There are shops, cafe and restaurant, birds of prey, micro brewery, go karts which are all part of the blakemere village which is a couple of miniutes walk from site.
We would return to this site and would recommend.

NOT THE SITE FOR US!
Stayed here over the spring May bank holiday weekend. We were shown to our gold pitch by the assistant warden who pointed out to us how they wanted us to place the caravan, he then pointed out the facilities to us and then left us to set up camp. The pitches are large enough for your caravan, awning but not your car! Consequently cars are parked randomly and some were partially blocking the one way road so late comers were struggling to get through with their units without having to drive over the grass, which applied to me when we left the site. As the site was full to capacity it gave us the impression of being packed in like sardines. The site is relatively new and so are all the amenities so they are still outstanding and immaculate and being kept that way by the very attentive warden, Dave.
The site is family orientated and of course there were lots of children, this is where WE went wrong, no fault of the site of course it was just a bad choice on OUR part! For our liking there were too many children playing ball games amongst the caravans, riding their bikes, scooters and generally running about letting off their steam, it felt like we had arrived at Kinder Garden! Children can also access the toilet block unsupervised so how long the block stays immaculate remains to be seen, but at the end of a busy day they were untidy to say the least but always cleaned ready for the next day.
As our pitch was close to reception and the 'den', campers seemed to think that they would use our pitch as a short cut there and back, so we had a constant stream of campers enjoying a nice view through our windows whilst on route - very off-putting! I think that pitch(No's 1, 2 & 3) would benefit from a hedge being planted behind them to avoid trespassers taking this short cut to reception.
There is a one way traffic system in operation which is hugely abused, especially with guests that were using the rally field. The speed limit on site is 5 mph this again is hugely abused, speed humps may be be required to curb this occurrence.
There are lots of things to do and see in the area and Blakemere itself has a whole host of shops and attractions to keep you occupied. There were events laid on over the weekend for guests and a huge car boot sales on Sunday's. Chester, with all it has to offer is approx 20 mins drive from the site.
To sum up, if you have kids then this site would suit you, if you haven't kids and prefer a quieter adult only site then stay away, we will.

Spent the weekend here with family and our dog in our tent. Arrived around 6:30pm on the friday night. Check in wasn't straight forward. As I paid the remaining balance a couple of days prior to arriving, but my husband was told it was still showing outstanding. Luckily I had my email confirmation showing the payment! Not a good start though. As not everyone has access to emails. Like I did. They did apolagise but I wouldn't have been happy if this wasn't the case.
We were shown to the tent area and was told to pitch anywhere. The area was next to the amenities block and the small children's play area. Luckily we were the only tent campers. The area is small and wouldn't like to camp here in the height of the season. We have a large 7. 4m tent which is not unusual these days. But can imagine they squash all the tents together. The pitch was level and we also had the use of two wooden tables, which was a nice little extra. Electric was all good and we couldn't fault the proximity to the amenities block- ideal for families with young children.
The little play area is a bit on the small side and would have expected something for the older children. The chill out room got the thumbs up from my children. But would have liked to see comfy chairs & sofa's instead of hard plastic chairs.
The shop was a let down for me. I forgot to order milk & bread with my food delivery from Asda and presumed the shop would supply these. But they didn't have either! this needs to be improved. They did have small bags of sweets at a very reasonable price and my children loved this.
They do have a children's ball area. But I wasn't happy to let my children venture too far from the tent. And this area was out of site. So I wouldn't allow them to go. Instead I let my boys kick the ball around near our tent. As we were the only tent piched, but as mnetioned if this was height of the season with other tents pitched. We wouldn't of been able to do this!
The site is mainly geared for caravans or at least that's how it appeared.
Something I do find irritationg on new sites is the regimental feel I get from Wardens. Correction. The Manager! We always abide by the rules on any park. But have always allowed our dog a little freedon from the lead for 10min or so around our tent when it's quite. The manager was quick to tell me to put our dog back on his lead. Yet I spotted the wardens dog off the lead for a short time doing just as we do. Throw the dogs toy for 10min then back onto the lead. Not 10min after I was told. Someone allowed their dog to freely wander around our tent doing it's business at the back of our tent. Whilst the man blatantly pretented he didn't see!
I did try to chat with the manager but found the manager a little alouf and he didn't seem interested in engaging in conversation. I persisted regardless but was shocked to hear that he new little of what the area had to offer ie next door at Blakemere Village/Cheshire Outdoors. Expected more from a Manager of a site. Surely you should know these things!
Moving on. The amenities block is excellent and a stones throw from the tent area.
We did hear an elderly gentleman complaining loudly about the children on the site. Seems he spotted some sand in the pot washing sink! Anyone would think it was his site, the way he shouted and carried on. But you always get some miserable old fat with nothing better to do but complain!
Overall we had a fantastic weekend. My only gripes are as follows. We orginally booked for April but had to change this due to forgetting about our sons football final. I was not able to carry this over to next year(frends have done this on more than one occasion due to poorly children). So due to other holiday commitments I had no choice to stay for only 2nts even though I paid for 3nts. Due to this I've only given 4 out of 10 for value for money. Other sites are more accomodating and have carried dates over for the following year.
Also would have expected some discount vouchers for the activities at Blakemere Village/Cheshire Outdoors- maybe this is something they should look at. The only voucher in our welcome pack was for the Restaurant Sunday Carvery, pay for two adults carvary and children eat free. But the carvary only ran from 12-4pm. And this didn't suit us. We prefer to eat later.
We are unlikley to return but this is only because there are lots of lovely places to visit and although this is a good site. There are nicer locations and not as regimental as mentioned above. Plus you can hear the noise from the road!
But you never know. Blakemere Village which is adjacent to the site is great and we spent most of Saturday there. Lovely little shops and the food in the restaurant was very good. As were the outdoor activities. Except you can't watch the activities if you have a dog!

We stayed at Blakemere Touring Park in February, We could not of asked for more off Pam & Dave they are so helpful, happy and Cheerful, the Facilities are the best we have seen on a caravan site. We enjoyed our nightly meet up with friends in the Den and the shops on our doorstep was an added bonus, We Will be back very soon. 5*. Dave & Judith.

Chose this site as its close to home and we weren't sure of the weather. We know that there is lots to do there too. There is a small shop on site selling milk, drinks and ice creams. You can choose from gold, silver or grass. We chose silver as we don't really need own drainage. This gave us ehu and freeview. Must remember to take a longer coax next time. Needed to be about 7m long.
The site is new (Nov 2015) and very well managed. The site is well tended with new shrubs planted and grass kept short.
On arrival we were escorted to our pitch by one of the wardens. He helped us park and told us about the site etc.
The washrooms are the best I have ever been in. All black and shiny, showers push button but lovely and warm. Washrooms were spotless, warm with music playing too. My son was most impressed. There are laundry facilities, washing up/ food prep areas and a dog shower area. The play ground is small but adequate with a sand pit. There is a 'den / chill out zone' with a snooker table, claw machine and free wi-fi. My son spent lots of time in there with friends he met on site. Great idea for when weather wet or cold. We used the dog walking area, which our girls loved as we could let them off to go wild. Poo bins there too.
Blakemere itself has several little boutique type shops selling jewelry, candles etc. There is a restaurant (didn't try)There is segway (husband and son loved ) archery(again tried and enjoyed) A crazy gold course and laser shooting are also available - not tried this time.
We didn't leave the site as there was plenty to keep us occupied either on site or at adjacent Blakemere Village. I can seee us returning again and again. Thanks to the wardens!

This site is new, and all the amenities are 100% will be even better when the newly planted trees grow.
I like that they have a good dog walking field, and also a dog/ bike wash.
We stayed on the Gold pitch, which has a TV point, water tap, and drain. Our fresh water pipe was too short to use, so make sure that you don't take a short one. The pitches are very flat, but we decided to use chocs to lift a the front of our m/h.
The village next door had some very nice shops, and lots of things for the family to do. There was a pleasant tea room, which also had seating outside. We would have taken advantage of this, as we had our dog with us, but they had no food suitable for me as a Coeliac. They said they did try, but had to throw most of it away, as it was left over at the end of the day. They also said I could bring my own food into the tea rooms if I wished to. That is something a lot of tea rooms would not normally allow, so I certainly recommend them for great customer care. The restaurant in the village doesn't do gluten free either, so I can not comment about it.
We took lots of walks from the site, through woods and fields.
There are a lot of places worth a visit, that are close by. The info room in the village has lots of leaflets on these.
Bus scout, showed several bus stops on the main road, so if on foot I dare say you have a choice of places to visit.
All in all, this is a pleasant, site, with good facilities, and I will definitely return. The wardens were helpful, and efficient.
I honestly can't find a bad point to bring up.

We have just returned from 2 and a half weeks at Blakemere and loved it. The facilities block is the best we have ever seen and Pam and Dave the Wardens could not be any more helpful. On this occasion we stopped because I was working close by but we have already booked 2 more trips with friends just for pleasure.
