Stayed here for 1 night and was more than pleased with the location and facilities. Short walk to the village, with pubs and shops. A mile from Gordale Scar and very close to Malham Cove.
Pitched our tent next to the river and can take your car to certain parts of the field. Clean toilets and good facilities for washing up etc. Need to pay for hot water but that's understandable. Didn't use the shower but also looked clean and spacious. Would definitely stay here again.

A site perfectly located for walking/ visiting local area.
We were booked onto the site with friends and took note of advice not to rely on Satnav which will send you off right at the village instead keep straight through the village.
The site is well maintained and although it was a busy weekend there was plenty of room between tents.
The facilities were basic but adequate for a weekend stay.
Site is also minutes into the village including local pub.

Area of this campsite is excellent lots of walking straight from the site and scenery lovely. Pub, cafe, restaurant and information centre 2 mins. Walk away.
However we found the actual site very disappointing. We were charged £21.00 a night for 2 adults 3 children, not sure why as the facilities were inadequate.
Showers were an extra £1 as was the electricity for shaver/hairdryer.
The toilet block was cramped and unheated, there was 3 Ladies toilets, 1 with no lock, 3 very small basins in which to wash? and only 2 postage stamp mirrors.
There was no soap with which to wash hands after visiting the toilet but there was a brown towel with which to dry your hands, however the brown towel remained their for the full 3 days of our visit!
Two sinks for washing -up and some free! hot water, however one of the many many signs that were put up around the camp told you not to run the hot water tap continuously!
I honestly could not take in all the different rules and regulations displayed around the camp and felt it gave a very unwelcome feel. Why not give people a leaflet on booking with these contained in, as do many other sites we have visited. We have been to many sites where facilities are basic but have never been charged this much for them.
BBQ's are allowed however the farmer did make a visit to our tent Sat. Night 9.30 p.M. And instructed us 'we don't allow fires' it was actually the remaining charcoal left over from our BBQ!

Site is conveniently located on the edge of Malham village. Difficult to find using google maps. When entering Malham village go straight through (not over the bridge) and it is on your right hand side as you leave the village. The pubs are 10 minutes walking distance and both let dogs in. There are no footpaths on the road or lighting, so don't forget your torch!
The booking system leaves a bit to be desired. We booked a week before but they had no record of it when we turned up. However due to us going on the Thursday there was plenty of room. As you would expect at this time of the year, it gets very busy at weekends. The campsite was full over Friday/Saturday. When the campsite is full, it is not overcrowded. The owners were good in that respect and were friendly enough.
The facilities were adequate, although the cleaning standard could improve. Shower tokens were available at £1 for 7 minutes, more than long enough for 1 person. If your quick, 2 people could probably shower in that time. There are only 2 shower cubicles (mixed block) so you may have to wait if its busy.
The main footpath for Malham Cove runs between the road and the campsite, so expect some noise from this, especially if a school party is having a day out.
Take your insect spray or you will get well bitten, whether your near the water or not.
Dogs are allowed on leads.
For 2 adults the cost was £14 per night. Ensure you pay before you pitch.
The local area has plenty of walks. The village does have a small shop selling chocolate but not much else. It also sells weekend papers. Alongside the 2 pubs there is also a cafe in Malham and a roadside cafe on the bridge near Gordale Scar.
Should I decide to stay in Malham again, I would return to this campsite.

We had a fabulous weekend at this site.
Location was perfect with outstanding views.
A couple of pubs within walking distance where plenty of food available. A lovely quaint tea room very close to the site serving lovely food and drinks. Scones and cream were yummy.
Dropped lucky with hot weather all weekend.
Pitch was sound and dry.
Toilet blocks were as expected, clean, hot water and plenty of toilet rolls. Don't want any more than that.
Utensil wash sinks had plenty of hot water.
Found the site fees very reasonable.
Spoke to Mrs Moon when booking the pitch and she was very nice.
Spoke to Mr Moon when we arrived and found him very accommodating as we asked if there was possibility of additional pitch for extra tent. No problem at all, he sorted us out.
There are rules to follow as there are on any site and providing you do not try to 'take the mick' then you are left to enjoy your stay.

Nice quiet site, apart from the farmer using a bobcat type machine to pick up potatoes to feed his cattle at 6:45/7:00 am everyday, pitch away from the house if you're a light sleeper.
Showers are £1.00 for around 7 mins and there is no heating in the shower block but the showers are nice and hot.
Toilet block is old, brick built, clean but with plenty of toilet rolls but again no heating, there is no soap or hand drying facilities in either toilet block.
In the Gents there was nowhere to hang your towels or clothes. At the washing sinks there were 2 mirrors at 3 sinks, small mirrors hung with string. The Gents toilets had no locks on the doors, so you'd better be a good whistler! One of the ladies toilets had the same problem but the others locked and they had hooks to hang up clothes.
Plenty of free hot water for washing in and for washing up at the two washing up sinks which are under cover but outside.
Mrs Moon is nice and friendly, Mr Moon is a farmer ;-)
All in all nice basic site in an amazing location with 2 nice pubs within 5 minutes walk, loads of walks nearby.
If you're looking for a really good meal, use the pub all the locals use in the next Village 1.5 miles away 'The Victoria Inn' at Kirby Malham, the chap there used to own the Buck Inn when it had really good reviews, so all of you who said the meals were brilliant at the Buck Inn a few years ago, go the The Victoria Inn and you'll be reacquainted with the landlord / chef again, I had the best steak I have ever tasted there.
There is a lovely Indian restaurant in Settle a few miles away called 'The Royal Spice' and there is a rather nice supermarket in Settle called Booths (signposted 'Supermarket'), very good quality like Waitrose / Marks and Spencer.
Make sure you have a few things when you get to the site because there are no shops in Malham or nearby and Settle is 7 or 8 miles away through narrow country lanes so it takes about 15/20 mins to get there. I know there is a small shop in malham but it only sells sweets, ice cream and pop so don't think you are going to buy much there.
All in all we had a great time at Malham and would definitely go back.

Great campsite. Lovely views of malham cove, close proximity to malham pubs (allow dogs in buck inn) and very small shop. Lots of walks (long and short). River / stream running through campsite and cows and sheep just over the fence - very peaceful and rural.
Basic showers (70p per token) and basic toilets, also washing up area. It was £18.50 for 1 pitch and 2 cars for the night (3 adults and 1 dog).
I did book this site the week before but there was some confusion when I turned up and the site was full but they allowed us in anyway. So if you do book it might be a good idea to check your booking before you set off (as no deposit was required, which I thought was odd anyway).
Would definitely return, in my opinion its the better of the malham campsites (more because of its location) but it can get booked up quickly (though it was warm the weekend we were there might have something to do with it.).
Oh, and make sure you take all your cooking/ eating essentials, there are no shops in malham to even buy bread from, we had to borrow bread and cooking oil from a kind neighbour!

Just had an excellent few days here. Facilities basic but clean. Good views and walks straight from tent. Pub in village has good ale and reasonable food. Only criticisms are about the mosquitos and unevenness of the site - quite hard to find a flat bit to pitch on.
Will definitely return.

The site is small and basic, but we liked it as it has no caravans / statics etc. Two fields; one of which you can not take cars on to. Toilets / washing up points / showers all adequate; not smart but perfectly functional. The farmer was not very friendly but other than that it was great, with the exception of all the mosquitos due to close proximity to the river. The site is about 200m from the centre of Malham village, with two decent pubs (good value food and real ale) and a shop which is only open at weekends in the low season. There is a path nearby up to Malham cove, a must if you like walking, with nesting peregrines!

A pleasant quiet farm campsite in the quaint village of Malham. Some may think £12 a night a little steep but its definitely worth it as its all about location, location for this site. Its an excellent place for walking, straight out from the farm so the car can stay put. Fab views of the cove and only a short walk into the village and the pub. Facilities basic but clean as for the 80p for a 4 minute shower - mine definitely lasted more 7-8 minutes. Will definitely return and recommend the area as well as this site.
On departure if you want to stay longer in the area the owner charges £2.00 for parking in the farm but its probably worth it as the village gets busy on weekends and other carparks charge £3.00 daily anyway.
