Just had a fab weekend camping here! Very well run and friendly site! Only 90 minutes from Edinburgh so an easy trip up after a long week at work. The sun appeared when we arrived to pitch our tent, a surprise after the torrential rains during the day.
Beautiful to watch the deer and hairy coos across the fence at sunset!
The burn running through the site makes a good beer chiller, most needed after a 7 hour hike of 4 of Glen Lyon's Munros, also make sure you stop at Fortingall Hotel's Yew Pub for a beer. Our 16 month old loved the site's sand pit, little tikes car and house and choice of slides, never mind throwing stones in the burn. Saying moo to the cows and the deer and clucking at the chickens. Lovely scones at the coffee shop!
Midges a bit of a problem so bring repellent.
Some building work with new lodges next door but none seemed to happen over the weekend.

What a fantastic site!
I stayed here this weekend for the first time with my two boys (2 and 4) who enjoyed the stay as much as I did.
It is a small site with around 20 tent pitches. I liked the way they separated the families from the couples so that you didn't constantly worry about the kids making too much noise. Although it is small the pitches are generous.
There is really very little traffic on the site so it is very safe for children. They have a small play park in the centre which you can see from all pitches. It was well equipped with trikes, slides, sand pit, little tykes house and diggers. If the kids were not at the park they were paddling in the burn which runs through the site.
The coffee shop on site was a real hit. Great for breakfast, lunches and afternoon snacks.
Toilets and showers very clean. They charge £1 for shower tokens but you get over 10 minutes for that.
Deer park nice to walk around. Animals all very friendly. Will definitely return.

Excellent, small site.
Trout loch wasn't open yet but work to date looked promising (July 2005).
Spacious pitches, reasonable facilities for size of site, great views all round.
Toilets and especially shower facilities need to be better but overall very good value for money

Nice camp site, quiet and lovely positioned in the hills. The site is situated in a deer park, the deer are really friendly and you can walk through the park beside the deer. I would visit again as staff were very friendly and helpful. The on-site shop served lovely meals, even the kids cleared their plates. You might need midgie spray if camped near tree, but if you forget it the shop does sell.
