Nice site on the whole, but a couple of drawbacks.
Pros -
Cheap
Good facilities on site for adults - wifi covers entire park including tent field, laundry on site, good showers with plenty of hot water (use the ones behind reception to be sure of this as these are gas powered while the other block is at time of writing struggling with solar water heating)
Helpful and friendly staff - get a Gaelic phrasebook and try a few words, and you'll be rewarded!
Cons -
The solar heating also seems to cover the dishwashing facilities, for the water there is lukewarm at best.
The tent field does have a slope.
There's no shop on site (but there is a large co-op supermarket 10 mins walk away and Stornoway town centre, about the same distance further, has a good sized Tesco and various smaller shops,
Site gets very busy and a little loud during the Hebridean Celtic Festival (mid July, now).
No play facilities for kids on site.
On balance, the pros outweigh the cons - and if you're coming to Lewis unprepared for wind and rain, you're coming to the wrong place! Keep your guyropes tight!

High quality toilet block, outdoor pot wash. Hardstanding for motorhomes, hardstanding and grass for campervans, grass for tents. Campervan pitches small - drive away awning barely fitted on pitch.
No shop on site but as on outskirts of Stornoway that posed no problem.

Good site with excellent facilities and friendly owners. It has a large overspill area used at certain times in the summer. Level hard stands and plenty of showers etc. It is right on the edge of Stornomway and there is no view that is particularly memorable. Great place to stay for the Hebridean Music Festival or to finish off your holiday in the Western Isles by exploring Stornoway environs- or if you have had a long drive to get there- a good place to rest up for the night. Very good value.

I write this review, as I am awaiting for breakfast, that the beauty of the wifi connection, provided for £5. Site fees for caravan + electric £16, which is the standard rate for the western isles. This site is small, but ticks all the right box`s, although there are only two of us, so children facilities or lack off are not an issue, close to the town of Stornoway, with a frequent bus service, we paid 45p single to the town. The site is adequately serviced with showers, which are free to use as part of the site fee. Plenty washing facilities as you would imagine as they cater for many tents. We have loved our time on the isles with the ferry priced helping us to choose to come to this wonderful part of Scotland.

Stayed just one night, would have had a quieter night in tesco's car park!
Vehicles in & out up to midnight & then again from 7am, every footstep and tyre going crunch crunch over the loose gravel parking area.
Also units far too close together.
Reception notice states ask for wifi code, to be then told £5 please, so later went for free wifi at the ferry terminal!
Toilet & showers unused, rather use our own so cant comment!

Small but busy site about a mile or so from the centre of Stornoway. Facilities are very clean and proven adequate despite the site having a lot of people on it while we were there. There is a also quite a tidy looking bunkhouse with its own facilities.
Motorhome pitches are level if a little characterless, however still a decent choice for a proper campsite while touring the islands.

Facilities seemed very good, clean and well maintained. But biggest drawback is Motorhomes are parked on gravelled area and no set distance between vehicles at all not even enough space allowed to be able to put out an awning.
The charge for 2 adults and vehicle with electricity £16 per night and we were parked in entrance drive with vehicles passing either side.
No time restrictions on coming and going
Owners whilst friendly seemed disorganised and kept asking people to move parking positions to enable even more to be squeezed in.
If your caravan is over 16ft will not be able to get on very tiny pitches.
Bunk House looked very tidy and was in full use, camping field was also neatly tended.

Stayed for a couple of nights around Easter. The site is on the side of a hill and despite perimeter trees, it is quite exposed to the wind.
The campsite is around a 15 min walk from a big Co-op shop, while there's a bus stop (Laxdale school) close to the site (5 min walk) with a good service. Fare was 80p into Stornoway.
The owner was friendly and the site was in good condition. Price was £9 for two people in small tent per night. The showers are free, although very small. There are no cooking facilities / shelter which makes it hard to keep a gas stove lit in the wind!

We stayed here for one night before leaving for Skye. It has good shower/toilet block with excellent laundry facilites. Showers cost 50p. The only negative is that the area for MHs is a bit like a car park but serves its purpose, the side furthest away from reception is the level side. There are also statics, a bungalow for hire and a bunk barn which appeared popular with cyclists.
We caught the local bus into Stornaway - details in reception and picked up a takeaway for supper. Be aware that the dog was allowed on the bus going in to town but we were refused by one driver on return so you need to ask.

This was the first campsite I'd ever stayed at, so I don't know how it compares with others. But it provided me with everything I expected. Toilets, showers, wash-up and laundry facilities were fine, clean and functional. Showers and washing machines are coin-op. The tent field slopes, but has flat bits to pitch on. Because of the slope/ skid risk, no cars are allowed on the tent field, but there is adjacent parking. It's about 2 miles from the Stornoway ferry terminal. Instructions on the website are, if you arrive late and the site is unattended, pitch your tent and pay next day - which I did. No nearby shops, so take provisions with you. Stornoway has a Somerfields supermarket near the ferry terminal - open until 9pm when I was there. I don't think the site had any special facilities for children. There are hard-standings and EHU for caravans, but I didn't pay much attention as I wasn't using those. I'm not sure if you can get electricity in the tent field - check with the site if it's important to you.
