This is a fantastic site and the owner can't help you enough from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The site is quiet and has some lovely views. The showers and toilets are nothing short of immaculate. There is also a small pond that you are able to fish on providing you know what you are doing. Knott End is approximately 2 and a half miles away and you are able to get a small ferry across to Fleetwood for about a £1.

Thornton isn't to far away either and is worth a visit. We have visited the site half a dozen times now as it really is that good.

Excellent site, the owner is a top chap, would definitely recommend this site to any body. No real park for the kids but the kids really enjoyed themselves playing on the trampoline, little climbing frame and sea saw and ran around with all the other children that were there. Really friendly campsite. Very clean toilets and showers. We think the owner has a toilet fairy because you turn your back and there is a clean towel and a fresh smell. You will get this joke when you go. Hahaha.

Visited this site for the first and definitely not the last time spent seven wonderfull nights two of us and our Masy (dog).

As every review says the site owner Steve is a warm friendly person who can not do enough for you ensuring your stay is the best possible.

Steve gave us details of a local pub/eating house about twenty mins walk away called the Saracens Head, Steve rang and booked a table in advance for us, the food was fab much better than some restaurants we've eaten in, I had fish'n'chips mushy peas homemade chips and a lovely piece of haddock fantastic.

Right back to the site we camped within the pine trees in a large pitch (big enough for the Kyham Cleveland 6)with electric hook up, the site is in a handy location for Hambleton (crackin butchers). Some nice walks in and around the site just watch out for the tractors. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless.

An excellent site well worth a visit

Visited this campsite in early June on the recommendation of reviews here.

Lovely site - very modern.

Caravan and Camping site, which accepts some tents.

We camped in a space between the trees on the edge of the site, in our tent with our two dogs.

Paid £14 per night.

Owner Steve is very friendly and helpful. Gave us info about local shops, butchers, pubs and eating out etc., with clear directions of how to get there.

Toilet and shower block spotlessly clean. Best I've ever been in.

Two toilets in ladies, and large (free) shower, with plenty of hot water. Handtowels changed several times a day, and toilets cleaned regularly.

Water points conveniently placed around site.

Lots of recycling bins and a dog poo bin.

Covered outdoor washing up area for tents on end of shower / toilet block.

Lots of hook up points for those who need it.

Playground and football field for kids.

Walk around back of the site for exercising dogs, which must be kept on leads at all times, and picked up after.

Fishing pond / small lake available free for those campers interested. (Barbless hooks, certain bait only)

Site got busy over the weekend with lots of families with children.

Would recommend going early / mid week if you want a quieter time.

Nice area with beaches nearby and lovely walk down Wyre estuary (10 mins away).

Fantastic owner very helpful and cant do enough for you any problems and he will always try to help from punctured tyres on the kids bikes to helping out with the caravan while we got our car fixed, thanks again steve for the help.

The site itself is spotless having recycling bins for all your rubbish and also bins for dog waste which everyone used.

Toilets and showers were cleaned endlessly throughout the day always supplied with toilet paper and clean hand towels. Shower was huge with plentiful hot water and plenty of hanging space for towels clothes etc.

Fishing pond was spot on and the husband and the kids loved it spending nearly all week sat there catching endless fish have never had so much time to myself.

There is also a small play area for the kids with a trampoline basketball net and a climbing frame also a massive field for ball games.

Plenty of electric hook ups and water points spaced all around the site and the pitches are well spaced and private with pine trees surrounding the pitches. Hard standings and grass pitches are available.

All in all a excellent value for money site which we will definitely visit in the future a real credit to the owners.

A lovely little site, with the friendliest, most helpful owner we've ever come across! We pitched our pretty large tunnel tent amongst the small orchard of fir trees without too much difficulty and enjoyed a weekend with friends in an idyllic setting which even the kids enjoyed! The small fishing pond kept our two 10 year olds (boy and girl) entertained for hours with both of them keen to go fishing at every opportunity (and without any additional cost!).

A short drive away is the Wyre Estuary Country Park where you can enjoy a circular walk along the Estuary. The nearby village also has a fab butchers for all your BBQ meats. Just ask Steve, the owner, and he will tell you where to find it!

Can't possibly write this review without mentioning the loos and showers. They are, without doubt, the cleanest we have ever encountered and everyone seems to appreciate the effort the owners make in keeping them clean by tidying up after themselves, especially after showering. One small improvement would be to have a light fitted over the washing-up sink which would make it easier to see if you'd scrubbed the pots enough, particularly when you're washing up in the evening. We were so impressed we've booked again for later in the season!

We stayed in our small family tent with 2 adults, 2 small children and a dog in May 2010, with an electrical hookup.

This is probably the best campsite I have ever stayed in, in more than 20 years of camping. The general site was very well cared for, quiet, safe, clean and sheltered. The toilet block, which was very close by was always freshly stocked with towels and soap and always spotless. There is plate washing facilities with hot water.

The owner (Steve) checked on us regularly though we had nothing to report. The Site was kid friendly, we felt safe letting the kids wander within reason. The local residents in tourers, where friendly and helpful.

There isn't much close by (you will need transport) but 5 mins in the car brought you in reach of good pubs and well stocked shops with local food.

On the whole its difficult to fault this site (even good value for money). In summary, a first class site, at a very reasonable cost, great for kids or extended stays, with good facilities and well maintained. We will be going back.

We stayed here for seven amazingly sunny days. I can fully endorse the value of this camping site. We saw many tenters, folding campers and caravanners come and go, so it would seem that many people use the site for only short week-end stays, pity, because I can recommend it as perhaps a place to stay for longer.

The area is very rural. Safe minor roads for cycling. There can be trips to Knott End, Clevelys, Fleetwood and Poulton. All locations very different and easily accessed by car.

The owner is exceptionally helpful and on hand for any useful tips, such as the necessary shopping trips. We were even given a polite apology for the noise whilst grass-cutting! We located a house, 5 minutes walking distance from the site, which sold fresh farm eggs at £1.60/doz.

It is rural, it is friendly, it is well worth a visit. As it was the second week of Easter school holidays, we needed to entertain the grand-children, so the trampoline, the basket-ball net, the goats, as well as the safe cycling, provided ample distraction.

What a fantastic site! Steve the owner was really helpful from the moment we first spoke to him on the phone, till the moment we left:) Spotless site, toilets 5 star and everyone seemed really friendly. This site is so good we are returning again soon!

I just hope the weather is better next time, Steve even apologised for that!

10/10 isn't enough for this site.

This was our first caravan trip out,the site was lovely we did not want to come home.

Steve the owner is a lovely man we asked if he would recommend some where to eat, he was ringing the Golden Ball all day for us with no answer, so at tea time he said follow me, and got us the postcode so we could use the sat nav to go (excellent food).

The showers/toilets where spot less, Steve changed the hand towel that regularly our five yr old wanted to keep going to the toilet to see what colour the towel was next.

It was cold when we went but will be returning in the summer and again and again.
