This was my kind of site, small, good facilities, friendly owners.
I arrived around 7pm as I got carried away taking some fantastic photos of the sunset at nearby Perranporth. The gate was closed, so I let myself in and drove onto the pitch but in the dark I could not see where I was supposed to go. A man with a torch introduced himself as a fellow camper and on the instruction of the owner, pointed me to the end of the track, by a gate and next to the loos - the owner then also turned up and made sure I was OK. He took a great interest in my camper and told me he had two original Vdubs that he would show me in the morning. That night it rained a lot and in the morning, the site was water logged but no problem for me on my hard pitch.
The shower was warm and the facilities clean. I think I was the only one brave enough to get up early that morning so I had the place to myself. I got all prepared to go and the owner turned up to show me his Vdubs, one he was still renovating, the other all complete - they were fantastic examples of patient restoration - this guy was a very practical man, which accounts for the site working so well. I would definitely come back!

This was a lovely site with magnificent views over the valley. It is only a small site with some hard standings. A short walk to the barn where there are modern toilets and a bathroom with shower.
Donkeys and horses in the nearby fields. Very close to the Coastal Path with lots of interesting walks.
Blue Hills Tin Mine is a short walk down the steep hill. Very friendly owners.
All in all, we loved this site and would have liked to stay longer but we were touring. It would not suit children.

We stayed a week at this site and we were pleasantly surprised.
It was my Birthday week and the owner presented me with some eggs for my birthday what a nice touch.
The toilet block and shower was very clean and the site was very well kept.
I would recommend this site 100%
If I were to criticise at all I would say that maybe there should be some toilet roll supplied.
Also I noticed that the shower tray was dirty but that was not down to the owner but maybe a notice to say please wipe around the shower after use may make people clean around - we did but others may need prompting.
There are some very narrow lanes if you go in the wrong way (as we did) so advise is check with the owner which is the best way in - best from Perranporth end.
Altogether a lovely site and lovely owners.

My wife and I are trying to emulate the BBC programme by driving our motorhome round the UK coastline. We are finding a great range of sites and we have put Cross Coombe Farm in our Top Three so far!
It is a small, friendly site set in a field with horses and donkeys as neighbours (in the next field!). We were able to use the hardstanding on the night we stayed - another is being prepared - but there are levelled grass pitches and hookups.
For the toilet/shower facilities, we were directed to the barn! Here we found the biggest surprise as there is a large shower/toilet/washing room with immaculate tiling and fresh shiny chrome. Next door is a smaller, similar room and evidence of more to come. 'Just like being at home.' was my wife's description.
There are no shops/buses as this a quiet and remote site to totally chill out at. It is within a 10 minute walk of old mine workings on the coast and there is always the South West Coastal Path accessed within 10 minutes also. The nearest towns are St Agnes and Perranporth.
This site we Highly Recommended!
