July 2001 and July 2003 My kids (now 9 and 12) just love it here: (i) for the play area at the top of the site, (ii) for the body-boarding in Croyde Bay and (iii) for the Croyde ice-cream parlour!
The views from the site are fantastic, right across the bay to Baggy Point and out to Lundy Island.
We've been lucky and found decent pitches at the bottom of the hill and nearer to the facilities. Further up the hill it must be harder to find flat ground.
The toilets, showers, etc. have been excellent for both of our visits - I really have no complaints and I'm sure we'll be back soon.

July 2003 The position of this campsite os wonederful and so long as you pitch your tent in the right position you can sit back and enjoy veiw of the sea and the sun setting! It's also very peaceful and a good place for young children - lots of room to run around and near the beach. However we were very shocked at how expensive it was - the most we have ever paid. The toilet facilities were adequate but not very clean and the mens showers were scolding hot, too hot for my children or husband. When we complained they said the temp was set by the plumber and there was nothing they could do, they also said no one else had a problem, however all the men said the showers were too hot to use. We tried to use the disabled shower instead to wash our two children but it was broken! Croyde bay is wonderful and brilliant for children and the pubs were good. Will go back to Croyde Bay but not to Bay Veiw Campsite.

August '01 Very busy in school holidays. booking essetial unless you like camping on the side of a hill. Gates close before pub chuck-out time - if you are stuck on the A361 it might be worth phoning to let them know.Best Chip shop for miles - Some of the local so-called "Best of British" winners could take lessons from them.Showers do not have good control of temperature; little kids could get scalded.Croyde pubs are amongest the most expensive that I have ever used. There are no notable restaurants in the area. It's all mostly Soup in the Basket type of deal. The Bridge used to be good for Breakfast- now taken over by the people who had the eatery on the way out of Croyde towards the Manor PH
