August 2004 My son and I stayed here for 3 nights. The views are fantastic and there is plenty of room to pitch your tent, but beware of the train running throughout the night if you are pitched by the railway which can be quite noisy. The owners seemed very friendly and helpful. If having a wash there is no hot water so take a kettle of boiled water with you, but for the price I can't complain. I would return again but would camp in the smaller field half way as this is the furthest point from the railway and the road which was like a race track at times by the locals.

March 2005 I spent 2 nights at Greenacres over the Easter break with my partner. This is a very rural and rustic campsite, and if like me, this is what you like, you will enjoy your stay. The ladies shower was broken, so everyone had to share the 1 shower in the gents. This was worth waiting for though, as it was a very strong and hot shower. The scenery is fantastic, and Edale centre is a short drive away. There are 2 pubs in Edale and many good walks and hikes from the visitors centre. Choose your pitch carefully, as there is a railway running on the South perimeter, and a fairly busy road on the North. I suggest somewhere in the middle on the smaller field. Unfortunately there was engineering works on the rail track at 4am on Sunday, which was extremely noisy and most unpleasant. Due to heavy rains on the Saturday night, many cars got stuck as the ground became very muddy. The campsite owner was most helpful, and ended up towing plenty of cars out(including mine) with his tractor. We packed up a day early because of the bad weather, but definitely enjoyed ourselves.

August 2004 We are brand new to camping, as the sites we tried in Hope were full we ended up in Edale as a friend of mine told me we would get on there no problem. He was right, this site is split into two fields one slightly larger than the other. We pitched up in the smaller one, nearest the toilets / showers etc (tokens for the showers £1 for 5 mins). This site has great views but it is three miles from the nearest pub or shop. Railway line runs along site as well and is quite noisy. I counted 25 tents in the fields and there was plenty of room for more. All in all we enjoyed our stay its just a pity there was no pub closer but for £6.00 a night we couldn't grumble.
