Looking forward to going back to Looe, but what a disappointment! The caravan had definitely seen better days and needed a good scrub. In fact we have to change caravans because our shower leaked, but the new one wasn't any better. There was damp everywhere and the caravan smelt musty.

The entertainment could have been a lot better too - Hoseasons state that the site is well known for its good entertainment, but twice I had to ask for Deano the Dolphin - we only saw him twice in total for that week! One night the entertainment was colouring for the children followed by bingo and a quiz for the adults - the prize was a small cuddly bear! I have seen better entertainment at my local! The disco consisted of a couple of compilation CDs which doubled up the music quiz questions. Maybe high season things will be livelier?
The plus points were it has a good size club house, the pool was okay with good changing facilities and it was quiet in the nights.
Overall Killigarth Manor was a much better site, feel a bit let down with this site. Maybe if the weather was better, things would have seem brighter too!

OK, lots of bad reviews on here for this site - and clearly there are a range of experiences to be had. I booked a static caravan at Tencreek, (family of four) and a couple of days later checked the reviews on here - I was horrified and expecting the worst. But found the holiday to be fine after all.
We usually camp in a tent, so it was a bit of luxury to be in a caravan. The caravan was quite nice, I've stayed in cleaner/more modern, but I've stayed in a lot worse. The bedlinen we hired was pristine, and new pillows were provided, duvets and mattresses seemed clean, so maybe they've taken the hint from other reviewers!
It had everything it needed, no missing pans/cutlery etc. The grill in the oven would not work at all, but that didn't majorly impact as the oven and hob worked.
The entertainment was okay and we enjoyed a couple of nights there. (And I'm fairly snobby about such things.) The children had a great time. The site seemed clean, well-mown, staff were friendly enough in the facilities. Couldn't say about the camping side of things of course, as I didn't use them. Looe and the surrounding places were fantastic, truly beautiful little fishing villages. Try the seafood!
Overall a nice site, pretty average really, but quiet for a Butlins/Haven type place. A good base for exploring the surrounding areas - I might not visit this campsite again, but only because I like to see pastures new! My overall rating would be six and a half out of ten.

We stayed at this campsite as a stop gap between Poole and St. Ives and really wish we hadn't. When we first got there there were a lot of teenagers from the plot behind sitting on our pitch who didn't really want to move and the rest of the stay didn't get any better.   The pitch was on quiet a steep slope my husband spent every night pulling the children back to the top of the tent.  We didn't unpack everything as we didn't want to leave a lot in the tent if we went out. The staff there couldn't be bothered with you so we didn't even bother complaining as someone said they had and it didn't get them any where. The wash up was three sinks not a lot for how many pitches they had over 200.  The toilets looked like they had once been just one row but as the site had got bigger they had pulled them out and made a double row done the middle you were lucky if you had a foot of space between the wall and the door to walk down. The  touring caravans behind us looked like they were permanent as many had tumble dryers full size fridge/freezers and full size cookers in the awning. As well as all the touring pitches there was a lot of statics, that also if they were out on site used this one toilet block.  I told my husband that if we had not got friendly with the people in the next tent I would have packed up and took my chances finding somewhere else to stay. To me they had tried to get to many units on the one site without enough facilities to cope. The broucher looks lovely and glossy but you do have to take the rose coloured glasses off to see the truth.

Just retuned from Tencreek. We had a large pitch at bottom of site with plenty of room but at top of site near clubhouse pitches much smaller and seemed to be packed in like sardines! Only one shower / toilet block for tourers a little outdated but always hot water and cleaners always seemed to be in there.Shop a little small and only sold basics.
Ideal base for Looe / Polpero and North Cornwall. Padstow can be reached in 45mins.
On the whole not a bad site with views out to sea - a good 7/10.

When first arrived absolutely horrified how closely packed all the pitches were, luckily were given pitch on the end against the hedge so only had 1 pitch next to us. Downside to this was that it was seasonal pitch occupied by large "tourer" with owners who thought they were far superior to us, who actually use a tourer the way it should be used, touring. We actually got this impression from most of the "residents" there with there very large outfits, not actually that many pitches available for proper tourers.
Very noisy site at night with alot of shouting and screaming coming from, as named by previous review, pratty teenagers, the same ones I feel who take up residence in the indoor pool during opening hours which fair to say is a shambles. Lifeguards do nothing to curb any sort of bad behaviour. Rules of the pool state quite clearly no inflatables of any description allowed, but while you are in there you will be constantly ducking footballs being thrown, well that is if you can find a space in the first  place.
Had a meal from "Deano's" never did it again. Totally ignored by staff until asked them if I was supposed to order food there or go to the bar. When food arrived it was luke warm and not as described.
Shower blocks very dated and not very clean, on two occasions found what should have been in the toilet in the shower cubicles, one occasion even been trodden around the block. Water only hot if you are the first person in and also the only person anymore than that and water runs out.
Trying to think of good point, oh yeah, good location for Looe which is lovely place, if you have a dog cannot go on main beach go round to Hannafore beach alot better than nearby Talland Bay.

Spent 3 nights here. 1st impression, the evening was very windy and this site being at top of a hill near the coast does get very exposed so be warned. Told by a seasoner that 20 awnings that werent packed away got damaged that week. Overall - an okay site, been in much cleaner shower blocks than this one, + plug holes missing in washing up sinks so queuing up occured. In door pool bit small and lifeguards unable to control pratty teenagers. Clubhouse and entertainment fine, reckon will be mega packed in high season so get up there early folks!Shop bit small for size of site + only 1 shower block for tourers.

We chose this site on the strength of the reviews here and the claims on the website. Although this is a camp site review forum I really do feel I must comment on Tencreek's static caravan side of the operation. We booked a week in a static and stayed only 2 nights.

We are not habitual complainers. In fact we are more likely to let things slide than to risk "a scene", but on this occasion we couldn't suffer in silence.

We booked a non-smoking caravan, a fact that we confirmed as we picked up the keys, but when we opened the door the smell of stale cigarettes hit us like a frieght train. The caravan had not been aired prior to our occupation. There were even cigarette burns in the curatins. Warnings notices of loss of deposit in the event of damage were abundant. I wonder how many deposits have been lost but without the repairs and maintenance being undertaken.

The cutlery and cooking impliments were missing all sorts, but we had taken a picnic hamper set that had enough in for us to deal.

The beds were disgusting with questionable stains on every matress. I tried to make the bed up in the living area but the stains on that would have been a forensic scientists dream come true.

The shower and toilet were over-run with milldew and the whole van just stank.

As stated, we are not the type to complain. I think that was our down fall. Rather than going straight back to reception and trying to sort it out, we scrubbed the caravan and gave it a good airing. We had taken our own linen but even that wasn't enough to stop the flesh crawling at the thought of lying on those matresses.

We went to reception the following day after much consternation. When the receptionist came down to look at the caravan she said that there was nothing wrong with it. BUT THAT WAS AFTER WE HAD SCRUBBED IT. Even then we were not able to get rid of the milldew, or the stains and the smoke smell was still pungent (which the receptionist couldn't smell as she was a smoker!)

No attempt was made to resolve the issues we raised so after a second restless night we we packed up early and came home. When I returned the keys I asked for a refund but was told no as we had taken a caravan that they could have let to someone else. The fact that there were about 100 caravans of which only 20 were occupied didn't make a difference to these people.

Needless to say we will not return and I have taken every opportunity of telling anyone who will listen how badly we feel we were treated.

we visited bank holiday weekend, we found Tencreek with ease although the small road to tencreek will only get 1 car down it and if you are not overkeen on reversing your caravan/trailer be warned (the lane is not too long but if another vehicle comes the other way one will need to reverse). The staff at reception were friendly. We got to our pitch and on first impressions we were suprised that so many of the pitches were run down seasonal pitches. this site seems to have 50% of its pitches for seasonal. The toilet block and showers were unclean everytime we went to them with water and toilet tissue all over the floor. also the big green bins scattered around the site are not emptied enough and rubbish starts to be left beside them.

All in all it is an ok site but the site needs to be tidied and cleaned more often (especially when its a bank holiday and full). For how big the site is, the cleaning needs to be done more often. We were also suprised that there was only one toilet/shower block. Tencreek is an ideal location for Looe but needs a bit more TLC.

Just go back from a long weekend. The site is easy to find and the staff friendly. Our party arrived in stages over two days but we managed to stay in the same area.

The views are lovely (when its not raining, but that is Cornwall). The indoor poor was warm, but a little too much chlorine for me. The showers were not working properly though. There is a club house/bar on site but we did not use it. This is a site we will keep on our list to revisit.

Just got back from 4 days with the family at this site. It is a nice site, well looked after with good facilities – staff, indoor pool, takeaway and (very hot) showers all excellent and used by us. Bar, club, games room and diner all looked good and well used by others on the site - but we didn’t use them. The children’s play area was new and well maintained but limited – but that’s what the beaches are for I guess. We have two boys under 6 and they both want to go back. !! Be aware that it’s a big(ish) site so I bet it can get busy – even though it doesn’t admit single sex groups. The pitches were mixed in quality – be aware of this.

The site is very open and on this very windy weekend it did feel exposed. The non-hook pitches are also very sloping which got a bit annoying as my cooking kept sliding off the cooker. These are not real problems and would not stop me going back but you need to be aware. The marked pitches were also on the small side for a big tent – Vango 800 – 9m incl guy lines. No room for a car. Not a problem at this time of year but later….? I think that there is an open area but this wasn’t open.
Location was excellent – Looe 1.5mls – Polperro – 4mls.
