August 2003 A basic site at the moment with no facilities except those in the Pub itself, this is just a field with a stop tap at the back of the pub. the field is separated from the pubs beer garden by trees and a fence and feels quite separate. Great views, and Buxton is a only a short scenic drive away. The natives are very friendly and the Pub runs a very small essentials shop as an extention to the bar. Bank Hol weekend and only two tents and two vans on site meant a great get away for only £2 pppn

Aug 2003 You wouldn't know that this was a camping field unless you were told. At present this is purely a field with no facilities but it compensates for that with the most stunning views. It is the intention of the Pubs owner also a farmer to build toilet and shower blocks within a year but for the moment you can use the pub toilets. The cost was £2.00 per person per night. My family and our friends camped there this weekend and we had the whole field to ourselves and had the most fantastic relaxing time. A recommendation for eating out would be Brookside Cafe which is a 5 minute drive from the site heading towards Wildboarclough, this is a lovely quaint cafe/restaurant that serves lovely inexpensive meals and drink's and is excellent value for money the only down side is that it is only open at weekends. I would readily recommend this site but don't expect fancy, just fantastic views, sheep and fresh air. Wonderful!
