A nice relaxing stay with brilliant night sky to boot !
Hardly any noise from the road as there is a thick hedge to screen.
The shower / toilets are nice and clean with lovely grass to pitch on.
I'll be going back asap for sure

I would highly recommend the site at Wild Boar Inn for both the stunning scenery and really well looked after facilities.
The toilets, showers and washing up area were about the best we have come across when using sites that will accept DofE groups. It was a luxury firstly to have hot water and secondly not to have to feed a meter to get it.
We did visit when it was quite wet so part of the field was a bit boggy but I'm sure further into the spring and through summer it would dry out quite well.
As I said the location is great for scenery but you will need to drive out to find the nearest shop, both that and the nearest towns (Macclesefield, Leek, Buxton and Congleton) are about 15-20 minutes away.
Unfortunately the Wild Boar no longer serves food but the closest pub that does, The Rose & Crown, is only about a mile away. Highly recommended but you would be wise to book in advance. You will also find Blaze Farm just around the corner with home-made ice cream, a cafe and animals to pet it's a good place to visit for adults and kids alike.
If you want to walk, both The Roaches and Shuttlingsloe/Macc Forest could be included in circular routes directly from the site.
All in all a great stay and we would definitely use the site again.

Located in a very quiet but gorgeous area of Cheshire the site was very well laid out,
The toilet/shower area are very clean and well maintained.
Pub when open is a good old sitting room type, coal fire, real ale, and the barman is very welcoming, he happens to be the owner
Alan and Val are a very nice couple and nothing is too much trouble, we will return.
