Just spent a very nice week here on the shores. Lovely site. Great friendly welcome and Wardens taking you round the site to choose pitch is always nice. Toilet blocks good, nice and well kept as you would expect. While we were there the weather was not too good and the grass pitches got a little churned but there are plenty of hard standings. Nice little play area for the Kids to keep them ocupied! The site is right on the loch and there are some great walks leading from the site in all directions and at all levels. You do not need to be a hardened rock climber to attempt them. We spent a good day driving up to the highlands from the site. The roads are good and even in August did not seem busy. Glasgow, Stirling are only a few miles away and make a good day trip. Overall a great site for the Caravan and Camping Club.

Fantastic location on the edge of loch lomond. Showers very clean & well maintained. Unfortunately as we arrived, so did the rain, and the site was heavily waterlogged. It also suffers from midges & wasps, so don't forget your citronella.
Local pub within 40 minutes walking is great for bar meals & there is plenty of walking & hill climbing to be done nearby.
Lomond shores is a 20 minute drive away which has shops, cafes, restaurants, bike hire, canoe & kayak hire and also a sea life centre.
I will return one day!

Excellent site on the banks of Loch Lommond. Good access to Conic Hill. Shop is not the best stocked considering the location but staff were friendly and welcoming. Shower blocks are near reception and there is a 'backpackers' shower block, this is a shared facility so dont be surprised to see both sexes.
Flat level pitches for tents, most caravan pitches are gravel with grass to side for awnings. Gorgeous view across the ever changing loch Lommond skylines.
Would visit again.

Wonderful views, excellent on site facilities and extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Good walking area and boating facilities with slippage and mooring. Pleasant walk along the loch shore to Balmaha where excellent tearoom, pub and restaurant. At this time of year it was not unexpected to have some snow coverage and wet underfoot. Crisp clear air and blue skies (when permitted between showers) made it all worthwhile. The road at Balmaha takes a sharp 90 degree right turn and straight onto a 15% gradient uphill. Be carefull and have good brakes for the return journey which is downhill.

What a difference. Last time we visited Milarrochy Bay the tiles were falling off in the showers.
The facilities have all been improved and new ones added.
The views as always are stunning and the walking in the area is good.
We agree with the other reviewers in that it's worth a visit.

Absolutely super site, fantastic facilities, unbelievably helpful staff and a lovely spot. We found it by chance when the site we had booked down the road turned out to be terrible and have been for the last 3 weekends in a row.
This will definitely be on our favourites list this summer

June 2005 This was the first time I had been to this campsite and was sorely disappointed although the location was beautiful.
I have a few grievances I would like to air, firstly we booked this site as we were promised travel commitments to and from the REM concert. The bus got us there but never arrived back for us we were then stranded in balloch for two and half hours in the rain before hailing down a private taxi and having to pay a further twenty pound.
We had originally paid forty-eight pound for the bus for the four of us in the first place. Arriving back at the campsite at 2am to thunder and lightning was about the last straw but oh no we were woken up in the morning totally flooded out in about 3" of rain and to make things even worse there was no water to shower, brush your teeth or even go to the toilet with
but not content with leaving us stranded soaking and twelve miles from our tent no one was around in the morning to complain to

Great site surrounded by lovely scenery on the shore of Loch Lomond. Friendly staff and clean facilities, but definitly worth booking as can be very busy. Great base for hill walking or watersports as site has its own jetty and slipway. Small shop on site and nearby Balmaha has a very good pub / restaurant.

This is a superb site. Clean facilities and excellently run as are all Camping Club sites. If you are a backpacker there is a new backpackers facility which opened in 2004. Basic provisions from the reception but no shops in Balmaha. A 2 mile lochside walk will take you into Balmaha and then just head for the pub - it's superb!!!
