A lovely little site, Andrew the owner met us when we arrived and gave us a welcome pack with some local produce, which was a nice touch.
The site itself is very well maintained with water and electric hookup, the elsan point was a bit of a pain for us being a winnebago and we couldn't get close enough to it for our pipe to reach, but Andrew was brilliant and found us a sewer to drain our tanks into, and he is going to be installing a waste point closer to the pitches in the near future.
All in all we were very satisfied, and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if cornwall ever decide to join the 21st century and make their roads wide enough for two vehicles to pass each other safely lol

We have just returned from Higher Bochym caravan site and needed to leave our feelings on the site. This is our second visit to this site in Cornwall, we have had the best holday ever. Andrew arrived shortly after siting the caravan and erecting the awning. He brought a lovely welcome pack containing the best free range eggs ever, a jar of strawberry jam and some hand made chocolates. We immediately felt at home. The facility of instant water and own drainage made the kids lives so much easier as there wasn't any tubs to fill or empty. The site is lovely and we had fantastic weather. We were able to access some great beaches and felt we were in a good position to tour around if we wanted. Our labrador Max laid on the grass outside the caravan watching the world go by. It was sad to leave after 2 weeks, even the kids Alice 18 and Henry 17 had thoroughly enjoyed themselves and as there was wifi on site they were able to keep in touch with their friends at home. We will be returning hopefully next year.

We have just returned from this perfect little site. Well I say 'little' it is actually huge but it only accepts a maximum of 5 vans.
The extra touches, from the amazing website to the laundry room with washing powder and conditioner available, really show how much the owners care about this site.
The pitches are perfectly level and very well kept. The owners helped us to set up and we were able to buy the bits and pieces we lacked to hook up to the water supply. We had forgotten to take along a water butt and they kindly lent us theirs. They also let us set up a pup tent for a couple of nights as our two boys fancied camping out. Calor gas is available to buy on site.
The information hut contains loads of info on the local area and there are maps and suggestions for walks. We did the walk through the valley at Poltesco down to the beach (National Trust and free) and can highly recommend it. Very atmospheric place with the deserted industrial buildings.
Porthoustock beach is a good place to fish, we did well there. The kids loved going for a hack at Poltesco riding school and also enjoyed Coast2Coast Karting up at Hayle (which was much better than expected and is very well organised).
The fish and chips at Coverack was lovely as was Rick Steins place in Falmouth. Glendurgan gardens also worth a visit, kids liked the giants stride swing and the maze.
We were lucky with the weather but even if we hadn't been there is enough going on in this little bit of Cornwall to keep anyone occupied.
To the owners, we would just like to say Thankyou very very much.
To everyone else we would say, book early!

This is the best CL site we have ever visited. The booking on line facility is excellent, their website is informative and gave us a good insight of both the CL and the surrounding area. The owner welcomed us with a 'goody' bag on arrival including some fresh eggs and some lovely homemade preserve - what a lovely touch! We were told we could pitch up any way we prefer, we turned the caravan on an angle so we faced over the fields. The site itself is spacious and well tendered with super pitch facilities so we were plumbed straight into water and grey waste drain. There is a little shed with lots of info including local walks and restaurants. Free Wifi is available that was really useful to us. Laundry facilities are on site by the farmhouse for those on a longer stay ! The owners wife makes some jams and chutneys for sale (the marmalade is the best I have tasted! - along with eggs from their own chickens. There is some locally sourced fresh produce also available. The dog walk is around a large field and is plenty big enough. There are not many beaches that you can take the dogs on locally in mid/high season, however, if you are happy to take the dog for a dip in the evenings, or early/late in the season it wont be a problem. We were on site probably the hottest two weeks this year so we had nothing but over 30d+ heat everyday, however, the site would probably be a little exposed in the winter. Although this CL is not adult only, I would say the site appeals to adults mainly as there is no play area, but there is plenty of room for children to play. We are hoping to go back again next year to visit some of the places and do some of the walks we didn't do this year.

We have visited many CL's over the last few years but this one has to be the best! Firstly, before you even get there, the system of booking a pitch is done online so you can see instantly what pitches are available and when and allows you to book a specific pitch. This avoids the need to arrive on site to grab the best pitch before anyone else. Come on we all do that, don't we??
Locating the site itself was very easy as its just off the main A3083 from Helston to Lizard village. Once on site we were met by Andrew and Sarah the owners who gave us some local information and a lovely welcome pack of jam and eggs. The very large hardstanding/grass pitches are all level with electric, water and waste hook-ups. There's a little information hut on site with all the usual leaflets, and a washing machine and tumble dryer can be found next to the owners house a short walk away. Wifi is also available at no extra charge.
The nearest beach at Poldhu was a favourite with our children. It has a cafe and toilets and was patrolled by lifeguards when we visited in July. Other good beaches that were not too far away include Coverack and Kennack Sands. Both Tesco and Sainsburys can be found in Helston which is a 10 mins drive from site.
Flambards (theme park) is next to Sainsburys although we didn't visit on this occasion and the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek is about 15 mins away.
This was an absolute gem of a site and should we visit this area again we will definitely re-book. 10/10

There hasn't been a review of this site for a while so I am just adding an update in that nothing has changed since the earlier reviews. The site is as perfect as previously stated and the welcome as warm. This rates as one of the best CL sites that I have stayed on. I have only given five for site facilities because there are not toilets etc but the bins etc are kept perfectly even down to a little herb bed for the caravanner's use. There is also free WiFi.

Just returned from a week's stay at this wonderful site. It has lovely widely spaced gravel pitches overlooking a grassy field (where you can walk your dog) with glimpses of the coast also possible on clear days. Each pitch has its own fresh water supply and waste water disposal. Although we didn't use them, we understand that the site owner can supply fixtures and fittings should your van be able to take direct water supply - for us it was just nice not to have to walk all the way across a field to fill up fresh and dispose of waste water each day.
As well as an information hut on site, there is a lovely walk through the grassy field to the farmhouse where you'll find laundry facilities, locally supplied food (such as bacon, sausages, eggs etc - the home made jams are well recommended!) and a vintage caravan shop with locally supplied gifts such as scented candles, cushions etc.
The site owner was on hand on arrival and departure and was very helpful, giving tips as to the best places to eat and visit.
The site itself is situated in an ideal location for exploring south Cornwall and has a supermarket and several villages all within a 10 minute drive. Be careful upon arrival though and do not take the first signed entrance as this is into the farmhouse's drive and can be extremely 'exhilarating' having to reverse a caravan back onto a blind bended road! Instead look for the larger sign a few yards after which also advertises storage facilities up the same entrance track.
All in all, a very pleasant site which I would recommend to anyone who enjoys peaceful CL sites.

We have just returned from a truly wonderful holiday at Higher Bochym!
Firstly this is a fantastic location nestled in the heart of the lizard peninsular. On the edge of Goonhilly Downs, the site is in a wonderfully peaceful location with access to numerous beaches, picturesque Cornish villages and if you like a little more to do it a short drive from Falmouth, St Ives and Newquay. Although there are so many wonderful areas to visit nearby that there is no need to travel more that 10 miles to have a wonderful time. If you enjoy walking I recommend that you get hold of the book 'five walks around mullion' if you can. I purchased it from Amazon prior to the trip.
The site itself is easily access considering its rural location. We have a large twin axel van and large car too and easily managed to access the site and pitch our van. We were greeted at the entrance gate by the site owner who was extremely pleasant and helpful. He gave us our welcome pack which consisted of free range eggs and the most wonderful homemade orange marmalade. (I understand that both are available for sale at the house)
All pitches are access via gravel drive and all pitches are fully services (elec, water and grey waste) with a CDP and bins located near the entrance gate. We had all the necessary connection for the serviced pitch however I understand that the owner also has parts for sale if required. (There is a information hut with all the leaflets on local attractions you could wish for and a herb garden where you are encouraged to help yourselves. The owner didn't mind how the van was pitched therefore we positioned our to take advantage of the views and of course the sun.
We have 3 young children and my husband needed to run his business whilst we were away. Therefore the excellent TV reception, good phone signal and free wi-fi made the trip easier to complete with our needs. Although you could easily just get away from it all and be none the wiser of the facilities is you so wish.
My mother-in-law has two small dogs to the dog walk was perfect. This also doubled as a good walk for my boys in an attempt to tire them out. (they were very competitive when being timed how fast they could walk the circuit - NB - this is away form the main site so didn't disturb anyone)
Our favourite villages were mullion and Coverack. Coverack also has a lovely dog friendly beach and a chip shop that was recommended in 'The Times' newspaper. I too would recommend it. Poldu Cove is an excellent beech (no dogs) and Kennach Sands also. Lovely pasties and pannini's served at the cafe (Dogs allowed on the east side of the beech) The 'Old Inn' in mullion serves lovely food and is family and dog friendly.
No matter how nice a site is we like to try different places however I can truly say that I would love to return to this site and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this site to all groups of caravaners no matter what their requirement may be.
A quiet, peaceful, well maintained site with friendly and extremely helpful owners

A truly wonderful place to stay! This was our first major trip out in our new unit and we were totally impressed. I had to email the owner before hand and we had a prompt reply to our questions. We arrived at the site and the owner met us at the pitch and bought us a delightful welcome pack (and some eggs we had ordered before we arrived). There was plenty of space on the site and with only 5 pitches, it was lovely and quiet; the site felt very safe for our toddlers to play on the grass etc. We were able to get fresh eggs from the owner daily (and he delivered them personally)
The site was very easy to find along the road between Helston and The Lizard. The information hut is a fantastic idea and we were able to get a few extra tips etc. We also made full use of the herb garden!
We will definitely be looking to book this site again for next year!
