 We stayed in the upper field, next to the Cafe, farm and toilets. Firstly, when driving up to the campsite, the main aim is to avoid the potholes! (not very successful as there are so many)

There are two toilets, which are relatively clean. One shower available(time restraints apply) which is located in one of the toilets. If the site is busy, I imagine there would be a queue due to the number and time limits! The upper field is on a little slope and the ground has a few lumps and bumps! 10min walk to the lovely stony beach, and cliffs.

When we searched for campsites on this website, we highlighted that we would like a fire. We assumed we were allowed a fire as it appeared on the search and there was a small previously used fire pit near where we pitched. However, to our disappointment we were told fires were only allowed in the lower field! As we had already pitched our tent, we were reluctant to move! Not the news you want to hear in mid October when it is dark by 7. 30! Disappointed that this was not clarified online.

Priced at £15 for one night, which was ok, but we would probably not return!

 The location is excellent. We stayed in the lower field, so 200 meters from the beach. The field is also used for livestock off season, so there were the occasional dried up cow pats in the grass!

The facilities are part of the cafe in the top field (2 toilets, 1 shower) about 10 mins walk up the hill.

The beach is lovely, not busy at all, great for walkers. Locally there's a nice pub (the new inn) and the nearest shop is in the other holiday park at the top of the hill, although fresh produce is available from the farm shop here.

My 2 year old son didn't get bored at all, despite the lack of playground etc, just goes to show, all you need is a lovely view and a fishing rod and even a 2 year old won't get bored!

I'd definitely return.

 Nice site in a great location, however there are a few things that seriously let it down.

I like my camping basic so the requirement for plush shower blocks/toilets is not required, just clean and readily available facilities.

The lower field is located within 5 mins walk of a nice sheltered pebble beach, with stunning views of the Portland Bill.

Beware the lower field is windy! Plenty of guys and pegs needed.

The bad bits of the site are as follows;

- very narrow and extremely bumpy/pot holed roads ( several bumper and exhaust scrapes.

-you cannot use the shower between 10am and 6pm due to public use of the coffee shop.

-2 toilets plus only 1 shower.

-they allow massive groups, we was pitched away from everyone and we had a group of 10 tents pitch right next to us, approx 40 people. Even pitched a tent half on the access road through the site! The email stated a max of 6-8 tents down here.

 There are 2 sites run from this farm which is on National Trust Land in the village of Eype just outside Bridport. The site we stopped at was literally for Wild campers only and has no water or toilet facilities or waste disposal. It is set in an attractive valley which affords some protection from the sea winds (the sea is a couple of hundred yards away down a lane). You can light a camp fire if you want but bring your own wood. If you want the toilet or water the farm is about half a mile walk away over the fields or about a mile and a half by road. The farm site looked ok and was next to a farm cafe but there are no elsan disposal points on either site - be warned. The weather was good and we had a great few days there, loved the beach and the cliff walks. In all an idyllic place but not everyones cup of tea - do some research before you go, there is a more conventional site just down the road and its close to the sea. A bit pricey for what you get at £10 for the wild site and £15 for the farm site.
