We have visited this site several times now and the views are the most beautiful around. This is a five van site on a working farm and we have always been made most welcome by the wardens. The site is easily accessible to the many interesting things in the Peak District and there are many walks from the site, local shops being easy to walk to. I have to say that after caravanning for over 40 years in many areas of the U. K. , this is my favourite site ever. It is so peaceful and relaxing. You do need your own facilities ie toilet and shower but most caravans and motorvans are adequately equipped now so it isnt a problem and adds to the peacefulness of the site. The grass is well maintained and surrounded by beautiful ancient trees the site is a gem.

Visited Farfield Farm and the Peak District for the first time last week. This site is smack in the centre of the Peaks and stands in the most beautiful surroundings. Very close to many tourist attractions run by the National Trust, English Heritage and privately owned such as the caves and is ideally situated for walkers. There is a railway that runs very close to the site and as others have said this is not that intrusive. The site is however part sloping and on our departure the ground was still wet so had a problem getting off onto the gravel track. Luckily a kind neighbour hooked us up to his Range Rover and took the caravan up onto more solid ground for us for which I will be forever grateful. If we decide to return to see more of the Peaks we will certainly stay at Farfield again (hopefully next time with a 4x4).

This is our 2nd visit here (also came in Feb 2010). The owners Stuart & Gill are very helpful, last year we got stuck in the snow and Stuart towed me down to the main road with his tractor. The farm is located just out of Hope village and has a public footpath running through the site which you can take to walk into the village. 2 miles away you have Castleton which has plenty to offer. The walking around her is superb, Mam Tor, Penine way starting at Edale etc.
