We had our 2 week holiday this year in France at the Sunmarina campsite 'Acapulco' near St Jean de Monts. We took our touring caravan and were told we was on one of their new pitches which I must say was great, it was a good size and in a nice spot. The new pool complex on site was brilliant and kept the kids entertained for hours.
The first week of our holiday we had a nice friendly French family in a lovely motorhome pitched next to us, virtually every night we bbq'd and sat around enjoying the warm evenings and the odd bottle of French wine… just the holiday we were after.
After the first week the nice French family left along with a few of the other people around us, then it all changed the site was invaded by French teenagers. The pitch next to us and the one diagonally opposite to the back each had 4 – 6 teenagers and 3 small 'pup' tents on them …. Although I have nothing against teenagers (we were all one once) these guys were doing what teenagers do best best playing music all day long, staying up late ~ sometimes till 3.00am, so much for stating in the campsite guide 'noise is forbidden after 11.30pm'. We put up with this for a few days, but when they started washing dirty greasy pots and pans under the fresh cold water tap at the back of the pitch we complained to the main office …they said they had already had a complaint about the noise from this pitch but would go and see them again regards the washing up ~ not sure whether they did or didn't but needless to say nothing changed.
Due to there now being a large number of teenagers on site the activity in and round the toilet block was also becoming a concern, a couple of times my 12 year old daughter came back from having a shower and said she felt unsafe due to groups of teenagers making noises in the shower block banging on doors and hanging around the entrance area making it difficult to get in and out.
As the week went on groups of teenagers came and went, on the one pitch a bit further down one guy kept wheel spinning his car on & off the pitch and even down the road at times, thankfully this group only stayed a few nights.
Half way through our second week the pitch next to us had now become really messy with beer bottles and general rubbish (including lots of signs advertising the local circus) no body from the site seemed to be bothered about the appearance of the pitches as it stayed like this until we left. The outlook from where we sat to eat our breakfast and evening meal was like looking at onto a refuse site totally opposite to the week before and not at all the holiday we had saved our money and was looking forward to.
The point that we could really not understand and am frustrated with is, why the campsite staff pitched groups of teenagers right on top of families when there was plenty of empty pitches at the far end of the site by the playing fields and why the pitch next to us was allowed to be in such a mess for so long.
As we all now holidays are not cheap nowadays, all we can say is that our second week was not the holiday we were looking for and were very disappointed with why we were surrounded by teenagers, noise and mess, and the fact the site management did nothing about it. I have also emailed this letter to the site, be interested to see if anything changes !

We stayed here in August for 14 nights with French Freedom Holidays. We have used this company 5 or 6 times over the past few years. They offer basic clean mobile home acommodation on popular 4*sites.
This campsite is really quite charming, however campsite is not really a good term to use as they only have around 20 pitches for tents the rest around 400 are static caravans. The campsite has french freedom, charles alexander and canvas on site, the rest of the statics are either French let or privately owned. It's lovely staying somewhere where you actually hear French in the mornings!.
Delightful site, well positioned around 800m from the beach, however much nicer beaches are a very short car journey away. Just a few KMs from St Jean de Monts which is a rather charming french Seaside town, with a huge esplonade (around 5km) with a lovely sandy beach running the whole length.
The campsite is big around 450 pitches with lots of trees and shrubs, however don't expect to see any grass.Very sand and this is something I think lets the campsite down.A bit of watering would be good.
Campsite clean, well equipped. Lovely play park, excellent pools with a 'Balneo' concept. Nice bar area and excellent take away.
Lots to do around the area beaches, quad biking, shopping, pony treking, etc etc
Would highly recommend for all ages.
