 A very peaceful site (except on the communal pizza evening}. Although not designated adults only, the owners, Paul and Vincent, say they do not encourage young children.
The term Chateau relates to the property being formerly a wine estate (this the Bordeau region), so the 'chateau' is more a large mansion. It is still an impressive setting for a campsite, with the garden furniture dotted around more akin to a 1930s country house than a campsite, giving a very tasteful and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a naturist lifestyle. Consistent wit with this, there are no organised activities.
The old outbuildings have been very skilfully converted into high-quality sanitaires and communal spaces.
Pitches are varying in size, some very spacious, some shady and some more open. All seems to be very close to electric and water points. Check for rev pol. Access through the main gate is a bit tight for long caravans but manageable. Signage to the site is mostly good but if arriving from Sauveterre north off the D670 there is a left turn very close to Frontenac where the Guiton sign is only visible from the opposite direction.
A major reason for choosing this site is its easy access the Roger Lapeble voie verte which runs for 54 km between Bordeaux and Sauveterre. It is totally flat tarmac so makes for easy car-free cycling. I didn't make it all the way into Bordeaux city (range anxiety on my e-bike) but the map suggests it would be straightforward.
There is a bar/restaurant in Frontenac and (I think) a small shop but I didn't use either. Sauveterre has a busy square with bars etc, and there is large SuperU on the outskirts with service station. The busy town of Creon on the D671 and the Voie Verte has a variety of shops including an excellent boulangerie/patisserie - worth a visit.
