 This was about the best serendipity experience we have had in our caravanning life! Having been disappointed by a textile site at Niaux (I have reviewed this elsewhere) we came across Millefleurs pretty much by chance. We loved it from the minute we arrived at reception and were welcomed by Hans. The site is terraced, adding to the feeling of space and tranquillity, and is immaculately maintained. Needless to say the site is a mass of flowers!
There is one sanitaires block in the centre of the site - very modern and high standard, kept perfectly clean of course. Showers are open communal in the naturist style, indoor or outdoor. There is bar/common room where free wifi is found and communal meals/bbqs are served a couple of times a week. Hans fires up the wood-fueled sauna twice a week, and you can dunk in the very cold barrel outside if you wish. There is a small above-ground pool, which is fine for splashing around.
We had intended staying maybe three nights, but in fact stayed eight. This gave us chance to explore the Ariege area, which we had not visited before. We did some excellent hikes in the hills to the east, the highlight being the challenging hike from Lavelenat to Chateau de Montsegur. We cycled beautiful Voie Verte between Foix (Vernajoul)and St Girons in two sections and explored the hilly area around Alzen. Altogether we had a wonderful stay at Millefleurs and definitely intend going back.
