We were met by Jane who was lovely. We parked in an area beside her garden on a flattish area with tree shade.
There is no ehu but there is a toilet and shower. The site was beautifully quiet and the view over the nearby farm and cows was pleasant.
We would stay here again

A Camping and Caravanning Club certificated site, set in idyllic and peaceful surroundings in the Dorset countryside. The site is very basic, but does have one toilet and electrically powered shower, which was lovely and hot.
Good points: Lovely location and very peaceful. We paid only £8.50 per night for all four of us. Only the animals on the surrounding fields making any noise. The campsite owner was very accommodating and even lent us a charger to charge up our caravan battery during our stay, and did not request any money for using her electricity. The camping field is flat with beautiful views, but the owner offered the use of her large garden to pitch up if we wanted to be nearer the shower/toilet. The local pub is about a 20 minute walk away in Yetminster but, after a long country walk in the surrounding woods and fields it was disappointing to find it didn't open until 7 pm, so unfortunately it didn't get any business from us that day! There is also a Post Office/shop in Yetminster, and a rural railway station (Thornford) about 5 minutes walk away.
Bad points: The camping field is clearly used for grazing at times and was absolutely covered in sheep and cow poo! To be honest this wasn't too much of a problem as it had dried out but I'm not sure if it's a good idea for a family staying with very young children. The CDP is an ordinary toilet with no flush to the side of the field, so you need a bucket of water filled next to it or we emptied out waste in it to flush away the contents of the chemical loo. The site is dog friendly, to the point that the owner's dogs wondered around the field and left their deposits on it too, which was not cleared up, so watch out for that. Watch out if you are towing a caravan or large trailer tent as the turn into the campsite is virtually impossible. You just cannot swing out wide enough to get through the narrow gate. It took us several attempts and when we left the owner allowed us to leave through her private entrance as it was much bigger. We heard from others there that some caravans had to be unhitched and pushed through the gate to get in.
Overall, we did enjoy our stay and for the price can't really complain. There were just those few points that people need to be aware of if they are thinking of staying there. We would certainly stay there again.
