Mixed feelings about this campsite so negatives first. It’s faded a bit since the pictures. It’s expensive and despite the high base price electricity & most other services come at a pay per use cost. That includes showers and hot water to wash dishes in the one available sink which is sited immediately next to the chemical disposal point which is also in the open. There’s only 1 freshwater supply point. The toilet block was heated.
The gentleman that manned reception was very helpful and obliging though. With just 3amp electricity the trip switch kept tripping but when I mentioned it on passing the receptionist plugged me in to a 16 amp socket in the box rather than the normal 3 amp supply.
The underground is a 15 minute walk away in Tegel which itself is a town with plenty going on. Situated by a lake a walk along Greenwich Promenade was pleasant. A day ticket covering transportation in Berlin was 7 euro. There’s a supermarket across the road from the campsite, a petrol station 800m away and a chippy 100m from the site.

This site is primarily for motorhomes or campervans. We did see one caravan though access is tight and we suspected that might have been by special arrangement.
The autobahn network around Berlin is complex but we found the site easily using sat-nav. It is actually marked on Google Maps on the south side of Waidmannsluster Damm, just east of the intersection with the E26.
We stayed for six nights while we explored Berlin on foot. There are both 'S' bahn (say 12 minutes) and 'U' bahn (say 15 minutes) walk linking you to the city. There is a back-gate out of the site so you can walk to these traffic-free. There is also a bus just around the corner taking you to 'S' or 'U' bahn if your legs are feeling a bit tired.
In the immediate vicinity there is an Imbiss (excellent food stall) and a Norma supermarket. Five minutes to (recommended) Kleen's restaurant. At Alt-Tegel (where the 'U' bahn station is) there are endless shops, cafes and restaurants, particularly in Alt-Tegal street (pedestrian only).
The site itself is densely packed - you can download all sorts of details from the website - in terraces. We booked in advance and were glad we did as we seemed to get a better pitch than those arriving on spec.
There is a small ablution block which is well designed and maintained but barely up to the job in hand. We occasionally had to wait a few minutes for a shower. Next is an office which is only open limited hours and the whole site appears to be run by just one person.
You can see the prices on the website, but there are lots of extras. We paid 14 euro / night for the pitch, 2.50 euro / night for electricity and 4 euro / night for the ablution block (for which you need security. E.G. Camping carnet, to get a key). On top of that each shower is 1 euro. There are very limited washing-up facilities – one sink (and a coin m/c for hot water).
There were some pretty huge motorhomes staying and we suspect that a lot of people with more facilities on-board than us just used those.
On our pitch our standard cable only just reached the electricity. There was plenty of room to sit out by the van. Plot L89.
There is some wi-fi (T-Mobile?) but as it was paid-for we didn't use it.
Overall we loved this buzzy place with its easy access to central Berlin. It was relatively quiet at night unless the police were playing with their sirens. Absolutely no need to drive anywhere for a week … bliss.
