Had the site to ourselves, the first couple of nights. Nice spacious field. Mike the owner welcomed us, very helpful. Shower and toilet block were kept very clean, £1 coin for the shower. With electric hook up, there are fresh water taps, recycling facilities and chemical disposal point.
Plenty of wildlife and countryside around us, along with the Cockerels and chickens, who paid regular visits ! There is a bus stop outside site (Brecon to Hereford)There was some road noise, but not too intrusive. Took a walk to Arthurs Stone, but had to walk along the main road (no pavement) about half a mile, before we got on public footpath. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

A more up to date review from the one below.
The entrance is good but take care not to overshoot, look for the CL sign on a post on the opposite side of the road from the entrance. Mike the owner was very friendly an gave good information on site seeing also there is much tourist info in the toilet block foyer. There is excellent walking in the area but unfortunately none start from the site. The field is big and so are the pitches, there is a very gentle slope. You will be able to have plenty of space, the grass was short mown. The views of the surrounding hills are excellent and we were treated to two magnificent sunsets. The local buzzards had a daily visit and also a red kite on a few occasions, many swallows gave us a spectacular aerial display when feeding. Facilities are very good and an added bonus for the price. Shower is still 20p but inflation has brought the time down to 2 minutes but still very cheap. The buses from the site entrance will take you to Hereford or Hay on Wye. Just a word of warning on the local bus. One driver (outbound) accepted our bus pass the driver on the return journey was more of a problem. He insisted that my English pass was not valid as the bus company was Welsh even though my whole journey would have been in England. He did relent in the end.
A great Cl in an outstanding area. To address some of the points made by the previous visitor. 1 The gate now remains open all the time. 2 The light on the toilet came on early enough not to be a problem and solar powered lights edge the pathway along the side of the building. 3 Yes an access path to the surrounding toilet block walkway would be beneficial but in no way was it muddy. The local pub in Dorstone, The Pandy Inn 11th century, is certainly worth a visit whether for a meal or just a drink.
Fruit trees were in abundance but this came at a price. There was a big wasp presence at the time of our visit. Maybe pitching down the east side of the field away from the orchard would be better at this time of the year.
Not a busy Cl but certainly one that can be recommended.

This site is off the B4348 between Peterchurch and Dorstone in the Golden Valley. It has lovely views and is very peaceful. It is about 8 miles to Hay on Wye and 17 miles to Ross on Wye. There is a bus stop just at the site entrance.
There is ample room in the field to site your van. All pitches are grass and have electric hook up. There is a toilet block with two loos and one shower. The facilities are a very good standard for a CL. A small charge or 20p for the shower which gives you 6 mins. There are information leaflets, bus times etc in the foyer. There are two water points within a short distance of the field. The CDP is near to the farmhouse which is just a bit further to walk. Recycling for glass, paper, plastic, tins in the nearby barn. There is a small orchard with pears, plums, damsons, cooking and eating apples, the owner was happy for us to take as much produce as we wanted.
There are chickens on site, they were very partial to the odd crust. Unfortunately they do not produce enough eggs for selling.
A Londis shop and post office in Peterchurch. The shop sells a bit of everything and was reasonably priced. Larger supermarkets available in Hay on Wye, Hereford or Ross on Wye. There are two pubs in Peterchurch, to be honest neither of them is worth a visit, definitely not places that we wanted to eat in. We struggled during our visit to find any nice country pubs but can recommend the Garway Inn in Garway, this is a bit of a drive from the site but worth the trip.
The surrounding area is really beautiful, we walked from the site up to Arthurs Stone and then on to Merbach Hill - great views. Hay on Wye is small but pretty. Not much there just lots of over priced book shops and snooty horsey people. We stood on the bridge over looking the River Wye and watched a Kingfisher fly up and down and catch fish - fantastic. Hereford was just a typical city, but again stood on one of the bridges overlooking the river and saw another Kingfisher. Went to Usk Reservoir and did a guided walk with two wardens from the Brecon Beacons, the weather was not great but Usk Reservoir is very pretty. We watched a red kite flying overhead - very nice.
There were loads of blue and great tits on the site, we saw a heron in the stream at the bottom of the field, a squirrel and a rabbit made the ocassionaly visit. Loads of buzzards around.
There were horses and cows to one side and sheep the other. The neighbours have an annoying dog that does like to bark - it was irritating but didn't last for long. Would recommend pitching to the right hand side of the field and the dog would not then be noticable.
This site rates as one of our all time favourites and would score 10 out of 10 but for a couple of points.
1. There is a large, heavy gate to the field that the owners wife seems to like shut at all times. This is really annoying especially when there appears to be no reason for it. The simpliest solution to this would be for the owners to add a smaller more manageable gate to the side, this would certainly be easier when going for a shower and carrying your wash bag, towel, torch etc,
2. No path from the gate to the toilet block so do have to walk across grass and mud - the addition of a pathway would be ideal and would also reduce the grass and mud in the toilet block.
3. Security lights on the toilet block do not come on until you are really close, if the PIR was closer to the gate this would make life so much easier.
4. The owner was lovely, so friendly and helpful and really pleasant guy but unfortunately his wife made no attempt to be nice
We would definitely recommend this site and would definitely want to return.
