Just outside Penryn and easy to find off the main road, close to supermarkets and local shops - no trying to drive up miles of one track country lanes to find a camp site, though the last 200 yards to the farm is quite narrow with potholes. Farm gates opened and swung easily - no hardship to open/close or 'leave as we found' these gates.
The camping field really needed the grass cut - VERY long and unfortunately for us very wet with rain on arrival. Didn't make the pitching very easy - welly boots or strong walking boots would be very useful here at any time of year I think. No mod cons at this place.
You really need to be self contained and not mind loo doors that didn't lock and cracked washbasins - the washroom was clean, but very dilapidated and they were 'bring your own loo-roll' loos! Didn't try the single shower, but was assured that hot water was free. Only cold water in the toilet block though and only a communal towel offered to dry hands. No dish washing facilities.
Farm yard is very old, bits of machinery and old mobile homes were everywhere and lots of old corrugated iron blown from an old barn that flexed and rattled all night in the wind. I couldn't recommend this as a place for children of any age due to things lying around that I think could cause problems. No baby friendly facilities were in evidence either.
The camping field has a few llamas wandering around - these cause no problems and may well contribute to the security of the location which did feel secure. The owner was very friendly though and we had a lovely introduction to the llamas and guanacos.
There are stand-pipes of varying degrees of plumbing performance around the camping field and some electrical hook-ups visible, but we didn't use the electricity so cannot comment on their performance.
In short if you are self-contained, don't mind 'roughing it' and can get by on a farmers field in an old, seen better days (don't mind the debis lying around), farmyard setting and only need a flushable loo in walking distance then you would be OK here.

We (a group of 6/8) have stayed here twice now over the past two years and found it really enjoyable!
we are 17-20 years old and found the place to be just what we needed, somewhere to clean, eat and sleep and the best part is that it was cheap too! what more could you want?!
okay so its not the most modern place of all but if your looking to get away for a few days and can man up and cope with the lack of home comforts, such as the occasional lack of hot water, then this is the place to go, especially if your going to be riding around Cornwall all day anyway!

We have just returned from this site, we booked for the weekend but we left after just one night.
No hot water in the toilets ( only cold water taps ), no paper and no way to dry your hands. Missing bolts on doors that have been replaced by bent nails.
The camping field is rough meadow grass with various bits of farm machinery left in it. The positive to come out of the experience were the Llamas that are kept at the farm.
