 A very handy site just a couple of km off the N4 at Tenneville, and about 12 km from La Roche en Ardennes. The site has quite a lot of statics, some of which look a bit uncared for, but the touring pitches are very good. The site is on the river bank just by a very popular swimming/paddling spot – great on a hot day! There is pony-trekking centre adjacent, and at some times of year you can launch canoes at this spot. The gentleman owner speaks pretty good English. Showers and toilets are excellent, especially the ones in the main office/restaurant block (BYO paper), but most of the water points are push-button and painfully slow – however there is a very good proper tap near the office. Finding your way along local roads to La Roche and other places is a bit tricky till you get familiar with the area. For us, La Roche town didn’t really offer very much apart from the supermarket – it is very touristy and not very interesting we thought, though the Battle of the Bulge history is worth following up. You can pick up various walking maps at the tourist office for different locations in the area. We found the way-markings for the defined routes very reliable, though many of the routes are heavily wooded.
