The site review that was done in June 2016 is still very current.
We stayed here for three nights towards the end of May 2024.
Loved the site and loved the area. Especially loved the price - 13 Euros per night - such good value.
It's one of these sites you want to keep secret.

We stayed 3 days on this site at the end of June in glorious weather. Our pitch was near to reception, with its small shop, bar and tv. There is also a book swap corner. However, most of the books were Dutch as the site is an ACSI one and much used by Dutch tourists. When we were there it was mostly Dutch, with a handful of German and English people. In our last day or two the site became full of young French people in tents who had come for the outdoor activities in the first weekend of July. No problems though.
We had emailed ahead (not something we often do, but we had almost come unstuck elsewhere a couple of weeks earlier) and were glad we had as most days the 'complet' sign was up soon after lunch.
This is a small site with all the pitches in avenues of 6 or so. Each avenue is named for a bird with a picture of the bird on the name board - very useful for improving your French knowledge of bird names!
There is a single wash block (although there are also loos and basins near the bar). The was block was clean, with plenty of hot water and even had a hair dryer. Although the site was full, there were no queues, so I guess it would cope in the high season.
The site has free WiFi, which, on our pitch anyway, worked well - not something that always happens in my experience.
From the site there is access to a small river beach with grassy areas for sunbathing. There is no pool on site. The site is very close to the one next door and we could hear people using their pool and slides. This could get noisy in the high season.
We were able to watch the paragliders coming off the cliff above us and they were landing a little further down the road. The town is a 10 minute walk. We had been here before and had thought it a bit dreary, but on market day we explored the medieval centre a little more and liked it much better - we will almost certainly return at some stage.
A good site for a longer stay, with easy access to the Tarn gorges and also to a range of outdoor activities for those who want them.
We found the lack of a bin for recycling (other than glass) a bit disappointing and carried ours around until we found a receptacle elsewhere.

The site was situated on the Tarn river and as promised we were given a pitch by the river, so our dog could cool off. As stated in previous reviews, this site is full of Dutch and Belgian tourists, who were very friendly and easy going, giving the site a relaxed feel. When we went at the end of June, there was an extreme sports festival and music fest in Millau, on the opposite bank of the river, so music went on until 2 am on Friday and Saturday. Millau is a bit run down, but there are some nice shops and restaurants in the main square with the fountain. Bread etc can be ordered from the office and there is a small bar as well. The staff are friendly and helpful and appreciate some French. The sanitary blocks were busy, but always clean and even in high season should cope adequately. Highlights for us in the area were the Millau Bridge, the Tarn Gorge (fabulous) and the lovely villages scattered around. Our dog spent most of his time in the river, much to the amusement of other guests. The pitches are sometimes a bit on the tight side, with trees in odd places, but a motor mover should take care of larger outfits.
All in all, a nice, easy going campsite, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

This site was the best value for money on our 2 month trip to France. Using the ACSI scheme it cost 72 euros for the week (60 GBP ) Most of the visitors were Dutch - A lovely nation of people who will do anything to help. All the facilities were good and clean. Its about a half mile walk to the the town were you can find all the shops you need, The supermarkets are about a 10 min drive away. Satellite tv can be hit and miss- chose your pitch !

This is one of many campings along the two rivers in Millau – it is the second one along Rue des Millau Plages after Camping Le Viaduc. Pitches are reasonable sized and neatly hedged, though access can be a bit tight for large caravans. The heated toilet block is excellent and is likely to have sufficient capacity even in high season. At the end of the season some of the facilities around reception – bar, games area – were limited but probably fine in high season. English is probably understood and spoken at reception, but an attempt at French seems to be appreciated. Millau town seemed to us to be dirtier and scruffier than most French towns, but this is not the reason for being there! As well as having the obvious attraction nowadays of the Viaduct, Millau is the gateway to the Tarn, Dourbie and Jonti gorges. These are fantastic places to visit whether for hiking, climbing, canoeing, via ferrata or just sightseeing. We were recommended by the very helpful chap in the tourist office in Rozier to ‘hike’ the Jacques Brunet path to the plateau behind the village. Be warned – this is a fairly demanding scramble route, with a bit of a sting in the tail under the ‘Anvil’ rock! Not for small children or vertigo sufferers. Still, it is mild in comparison with some of the sport climbing routes. But don’t miss the viaduct visitor centre on the Albi road!
