Would definitely not stay here again

Put us on a pitch that was ridiculous to get on

Toilets were the worst we have seen on our travels through Europe

2nd time staying here, stayed in a bungalow, basic but ideal, shower, bed, microwave and kitchen utensils included, , linen and towels can be hired but we took our own and took an electric kettle as well.

Also air conditioned. Parking space allocated to bungalow. Shop on site but only a short drive to Lidls, Aldi, Mercadona etc. ,

Also short drive to nearest beach or a nice walk long walk.

Bar, cafe etc. , also close by. We found the staff very helpful.

Pool on site, only downside it didn't open till 11am and closed at 8, earlier opening would be nice.

Toilets and showers area regularly cleaned also bins emptied.

The site is predominantly French, Belgian Dutch, not many Spanish or English. We told them we had a 7. 4m Motorhome and would prefer a larger pitch if possible, they said ok.

When we arrived we were squeezed in a small space in between two other units, one of the units kept trying to look into our unit, after setting up we looked around and there were quite a lot of larger pitches.

The restaurant was run by Spanish people and they were lovely with nice Spanish food.

We really did not gel with the site after being squeezed in when there were larger pitches available and we couldn’t be bothered to pack up and move so we left after 1 night.

Just left El pino. Campsite ok big pitches some shade some without. Toilet block on level three looked very new but the ladies showers did not drain away so bit of a nightmare.

There was only one hook for clothes, plenty of hot water if you kept your hand on the push tap that only lasted a few seconds.

Nice little bar/restaurant and handy shop which sold most essential things. We walked down to beach which took us a good 35mins could not walk up as so hilly got taxi which cost 7€.

Nice beach area lots of bars and restaurants and comfy sun beds on beach.

Stayed here for one week in February 2015 and paid €14. 00/night including electricity. They do not accept credit cards/cheques, its cash only which has to be paid at the time of entry into the camp.

It’s a large site with mixture of chalets, caravan and motor-homes. There are 3 restaurants within 150 meters and 4 pubs, one of which shows sky sports etc. Wi-fi is free on site, however, the signal is poor on the plots and as such, is only really effective near the site’s entrance area.

The owners of the site do not seem to be investing in the infrastructure of the camp, as trees are overgrown/low branches in places, many kerbs to the pitches are high/broken and following a windy night a few days ago, the clean-up was negligible, as there are numerous broken branches still littered en-masse over the site, some 3 – 4 days after the event.

There is a small shop on site which sells provisions etc. Torrex town is approx. A 25 min walk away and there are many high street shops, bars and a nice modern promenade. A taxi back to the campsite from Torrex town is €6. 00, which is well worth it, given that to walk back means trekking up two steep hills.

Buses run to Nerja town from Torrex town (15 mins) and costs €1. 17/each way. The bus station is on the high street and they operate on a regular basis, whilst travelling parallel to the blue Mediterranean Sea.

I was a bit harsh in my last review, yet here I am again at El Pino, enjoying myself and realising that it's one of those sites where the whole is better than its parts!

We've got a much better pitch than last time, which makes a big difference. The site is on several levels and has pitches of all shapes and sizes. We are on level three, pitch 524, which is large and has sun all day - a big improvement on last time, when we were on the rather shadier lower level.

The restaurant and bar is much as before, perfectly adequate but not outstanding, and the supermarket is currently closed - waiting and hoping for new management. Luckily there's a small supermarket within a few minutes' walk, and several good ones in the town centre - Mercadona, Lidl and Aldi.

There are two laundry rooms, with washing machines of large capacity which cost 4 euros. The shower blocks are looking a little tired, but there is one smart new shower block on level three, although it is not without teething problems. However, lots of people come here year after year, and here we are again - it definitely has something going for it! Maybe it's the relaxed, friendly atmosphere, or the appeal of Torrox Costa itself, which is such an attractive small resort, with lots of bars and restaurants of all types, open all year round. The mountains form a picturesque background and there are lots of interesting places to visit. Despite the fact that there are many sites with better facilities, we enjoyed our stay here - there's just something about it!

The best I can say is that it's cheap and cheerful. Pitches are rather cramped, all gravel. Lots of trees (not in leaf at this time of year) but otherwise there's not a lot of greenery.

Several small shower blocks, clean but not particularly smart. Showers have controllable temperature, but no separate area for clothes, but are fairly large so with care nothing gets wet. Washing-up and laundry sinks are cold water only, which is pointless as far as I'm concerned.

Wifi is supposed to be available in all pitches near to reception but we're near and we can't get it, have to go to bar. Restaurant specialises in English food and the shop does likewise - who on earth goes to Spain and wants to buy Kingsmill sliced bread, Branston Pickle and kippers?!

Site is within 10 minutes of the main N340 coast road. Site is in what is now a fairly developed villa area, however all seemed very secure and safe.

On arrival we were asked to move van out into the street whilst booking in (there is a sign which asks you not to bring van in until after booked in which we missed). Usual go and find a pitch then book in at reception.

Loads of pitch choice, all hard standing and fair size. The whole site is gravelled so does look a little like a car park. However there are a few levels so looking around easy to find a pitch with some views, even though most of views are of nearby villas etc.

Receptionist who booked us in was lovely – couldn't have been more welcoming or more helpful.

Toilets / showers were good. Toilets clean and plenty of loo roll. Showers plenty of hot water, but more of a jet of water than a shower. All normal facilities such as water, chemical disposal ehu etc included in price. Wifi available free in the pitches near reception, also available in restaurant.

Shop on site – was expensive €2.40 for a packet of biscuits. But its open until 8pm so guess you pay for convenience. A couple of main supermarkets just 3-5 minutes drive from site for main shopping. We didn't go to beach but receptionist advised 10 minutes walk and she would give best and safest routes.

We paid €13 per night for 2 adults with ehu (ACSI rate) – bargain for what was a good site for a couple of nights. Not sure about longer stays – but to be fair plenty of long stayers on site and great rates being offered for 60+ nights.
