Great site this. Nice big pitches, good & plentiful toilet blocks, smashing location, on the beach.

We hired a fridge for 4 euros per day, its not a fridge you take to your tent, you rent one in a block and you're always near one.

Communal BBQs are dotted around too and there's always one smouldering away which you can top up.

The site is covered with high pine type trees and the ground is always full of the long needles which you can't help getting in the tent, also rather than grass, it's like a forest floor so a dustpan and brush are essential.

Plenty of food places just outside and a small water taxi to take you across the inlet to even more eating options. 5 mins in the car and you can be in the hypermarket.

Reception great, wifi signal is a bit weak.

We had a great time

There are lots of sites in this area, and as we wanted one near the beach, we chose here.

It's a huge site, at the end of the road next to the sea and the estuary of the Herault river, there are gates from the site directly onto the sandy beach.

The reception is open all day, and the receptionist spoke english. Security seems to be very important here, we were given wristbands to wear all the time, and had to suggest a number (date of birth) for the barrier. We were asked to pitch where we liked.

The site is mainly flat and grassy, with areas of chalets, and a canopy of fir trees giving good protection from the sun. Strangely, there are no defined pitches at all, just the electric bollards with 4 numbered sockets, we had to let reception know which socket we were plugged into.

There are a number of facility blocks, the receptionist had told us which ones were currently open. There were plenty of separate facilities for men and women, all very clean. The water was nice and hot.

The site was lovely and peaceful, though there weren't many people there, lots of birds, and we saw red squirrels too.

There is a bread shop and general store opposite the gates, plus some restaurants and bars. The riverside is just nearby, and on the other side is the town, there is a ferry crossing for foot passengers.

We cycled all the way along the riverside, it's a long way to the bridge across, but the marked cycleways made it a pleasure.

The price was moderately expensive.
